    The more I think about it, the more I realize that my skydiving career started out when I was about 4 or 5 years old and became obsessed with throwing my Ghostbuster/Mutant Turtle figures off the roof with String and a cut-up trash bag.....Then off to high School where I spent English Class making a parachute out of a Kleenex, strips of tape, and a pencil to throw off the balcony at passing period (Yes, I was/Am a loser....) This wasn't just a one-day thing, I had mastered my craft... See, I never really grew out of this until I turned 18 and took the First-Jump course here at KState.... But I still can remember my obsession with parachutes since I was old enough to remember - Maybe that is why I am here right now!!

    I have this feeling I became a Skydiver when I was 4 years old, and became obsessed with throwing my Ghostbusters figures off the roof with string and a cut-up trashbag to land them safely. Hmm, I'd bet there are a lot of people out there who are jumpers now who were obsessed with this in their childhood.... Sounds like a good idea for a new thread! =========Shaun ==========

    I thought you were just supposted to put them in a nice frame and keep them out of the sunlight - Isn't licking stamps in a stamp collectin a big no-no?? Who even collects stamps anymore??? Isn't that for losers who don't skydive?? =========Shaun ==========

    I have heard the "take-up-golf" speech on a number of occasions (never to me, of course ). The most memorable was a guy who had a cypres fire and then a week later was medivaced out of the DZ for Augering in. Guy just wasn't wired right for the sport, I guess..... Not my call or opinions, just what happened.. =========Shaun ==========

    I would see this as causing a lot of problems - Imagine, a little quibble in a Politics thread leads to negative feedback or backstabbing. The more I think about it, the more I realize that what we have now Really isn't such a bad idea.... Yeah, it's a pain in the butt when people postwhore to get to a new level, but it't not a real problem yet, more of an annoyance. It is the onlyl fair way to do a rating system all together, and there is not way for someone to go and embellish their status by not being honest with their numbers/experience/ratings... Really not a big deal if you think about it... =========Shaun ==========

    If they did it on Jump Numbers and Knowledge - How can you accuratly asses that? People here have a hard enough time admitting their own jump numbers, I just don't think that it would work very well. On the other side, the number of posts thing is a pain in the butt too - you get posts like "16 more posts, 15 more posts, 14 more posts.........1 more post, I'M A VERERAN!!!" but it's still the best way to do it..... =========Shaun ==========

    You Shouldda come with me, man. Just blow off them tandems and come boogie. Kinda funny though, an average saturday for them was almost twice as busy as the Mullins Boogies I've been to! Weather was nothing short of perfect and SD got up 21 Otter loads and 6 Caravan Loads on Saturday alone... =========Shaun ==========

    Seems like one expensive pair of batteries to me, if you don't want to go used...... Sometimes I wonder about those Cypres Batteries - - - Makes me scratch my head when I see them charging $75 a set.... Oh well, I'm not going to be cheap when it comes to them =========Shaun ==========

    It was a real Shock to read this - First off I'm amazed at how drastically they acted on just one person's (your girlfriend's) claim - I'm amazed but sadly not suprised. Doesn't take much more than a screamer to get someone hauled off and possibly their life ruined...... Blue Skies, Man.
