If you have not heard- We lost Tommy on Sunday. The details are posted in the incidents forum. I just wanted to write a little something now, as my moments of strength don't last long. Thank you to everyone who is taking the time to share their love and express there saddness. It is greatly appreciated. The last two days I spent with Tommy were truely special. It was bad weather at the DZ, so we hung out just as friends and were able to share some really special time together. Looking back now, I don't think anyone would trade those two days for two jumping days for anything in the world. I know I wouldn't. Fritz and I will cherish those last days forever, as too will Cara who spent the time with us. And everyone else on the DZ that weekend for that matter, since we all got to share it close to Tommy and watch him entertain us and make us laugh constantly. Tommy loved life and was truely passionate about skydiving, and he certainly did not want to die. But I know he went quickly and peacefully and can take some comfort in that. Thank you to all for your love and support through this tough time for me. We will stay strong and get through this with the love and support from those around us.

Hard to believe that it has been a year since we lost our brother, Rob Tompkins. He was and still is so very special to me and many others and his memory lives on thru all who knew him and were lucky enough to have him as part of their lives. I am so glad that he found so much happiness in BASE jumping and got to meet so many great people thru the sport. Fly forever free, my brother! We miss you! Please take a moment today to stop and reflect on what a wonderful person Rob was. Smile when you think of him and try not to be sad- Rob would want it that way.

Just takes a little muscle- Climb out as far as you can get with your hands out on the stut as far a they will go. Take your feet off the step and immediately pull your knees in and feet uo to the leading edge of the wing. You have to do this quick and with force. Once you get your feet over the top of the edge, slowly let go and lower yourself down. Depending on your shoes, you should be able to hang from your feet. There is no secret to it- just give it a shot.

I have to agree with Ian- My Velocity 103 loaded at 1.9 has sweet riser pressure. Love it, love it , love it!! Hey Ian- got my brand spakin' new Velocity last week!! Man that baby surfs!!! How are the 270s coming?
-
one 180+ degree hard fromt riser hook on my Velocity. Puts her into a steep fast dive until I plane her our with the rear risers to surf. No need to touch the other front riser. Sometimes people who do a more carving front riser approach will start with one front riser and finish with both to keep the speed up. Really depends on the canopy and your preference. With the Velocity , it will dive on it's own until I pull it out.
