Good one Rapper! Just free shirts my friend, free shirts!
-
Anyone been over to our website and checked out these Cool Shirts ???
-
I will do it for the cost of my slot. Coaching, video and debrief!

Fact of the matter is- heavier doesn't always mean faster, ie: 200lb guy who is 6'5" vs. 190lb guy who is 5'4"- and there are tons of things that effect the fallrate besides weight like surface area, jumpsuit, body position, etc.... But it is all due to air resistance. Take that away and yes, everything falls at the same speed. In a vacuum. Science is not confusing- humans are!

Absolutely! One of the best is to take something like a sponge or empty water bottle that is light and won't hurt anything if you drop it, and while you are head down you pass it from one hand to the other starting with small movements and increasing the size of the movements as you improve. The object is to maintain heading and control of your body as you do so. You may be surprised how much you have been using your arms once you do this. If you get the hang of that and still want a challenge, pass it around your head, back, and between your legs. You will definitely be forced to use your legs to fly! Have fun with it!

Yes, jeans and t shirt would be better. You certainly don't wnat to be over dressed. Wear something that will be comfortable under a jumpsuit. If it is warm, I highly suggest shorts and a t shirt. Jeans can be a bit restricting if the suit is tight.

I think at this stage it is important not to over do things. Preparing is great, but dont get too far ahead of yourself. Just go with an open mind and be ready to learn. Do what you are taught and not what you think you should do. As far as kit- just wear whatever you would that day that is appropriate for the weather and a good pair of sneakers. They will give you a jump suit and provide everything you need kit wise. You may be able to do more training or maore jumps that same day or weekend. It is not unusual for a student to do 2 or 3 jumps in the first weekend. Good luck and relax!

I assume you will do training jumps with an instructor one on one to work on you flying skills and probably solos to get more comfortable in the air. Good luck!

can be a very challenging slot!

I have always found that I can escape "reality" when I an at the DZ and jumping! Skydiving and the real world can be balanced to create a less stressful and overwhelming exsitance.

Oh I've tried it alright! Most of my first 500 jumps were RW and I got up to doing some pretty good stuff. I was in some bigger things and my biggest was a 30way. It just got to be too serious for me and even though it is challenging to fly a slot and put together a formation of large numbers or turn alot of points, it just wasn't challenging enough to me for my personal flying and it got way to serious. But to answer your question- Yes I have tried it.

Any track by Sublime!

Nothing wrong with that, but why is it pathetic if a good freeflyer can't do RW? They are both forms of skydiving and it is a personal preference which one you like to do. Everyone has to become a safe skydiver to get their license, but that doesn't mean in this day and age that they have to become any better at RW. I don't find it "pathetic" if a good RWer can't sitfly.

I have 15 military jumps courtesy of 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and I must say. Only had fun on 2 of them! The Army knows how to take the fun out of everything! 1100 ft. was the highest, most from 600-700 ft., lowest from 450 ft.!
-
well of course you need to comply with any and all regulations and restictions. I am just giving general advice.
-
There is nothing that says you have to do RW for any length of time. Once you have your A license and have been cleared as a safe skydiver, you are free to try new forms of skydiving. Although starting a new discipline like freeflying so soon can be a distraction when you are still getting "comfortable" in the air, it can also be done safely. If you want to try freeflying this soon, I suggest getting a coach and talikng to him. Yes it costs more, but you will learn much faster and you will have someone helping you thru each step of the way. Going out on your own and just trying stuff is not the best way at the stage you are at. As far as when to start trying freeflying- The sooner the better! Just do it right and do it safe! Don't get in over your head before you are ready. When you feel uncomfortable with something, take a step back.

Right on! Welcome!

No worries mate! I was just in a bad mood last night when I read that and took it too personally. I think the bottom line is, you can't load a Hornet much over 1:1 without giving some things up. A Sabre2 will accept much more. I never jumped a Hornet at 1:1.

Tandems are not there to entertain you in freefall. It is for the passenger, and that what it should be about. As a tandem instructor and video guy, I get so tired of seeing other instructors trying to be in the spotlight by acting all goofy or video guys trying to get to artsy. Yes it get very routine to do the same tandem dive and shoot the same video of the tandem, but thats what we get paid to do! No tandem student wants to watch his/her video over and over and see the instructor being the "move star". And all they want to see on their video is THEM! Fun jumps are for you to try new things and entertain yourself. Leave the tandems to just do your job. If you are not having enough fun just filming a persons first tandem, then maybe it is time to rethink why you are doing it.
-
Start organizing your own jumps. Its your jump ticket and you can start having your own group to organize jumps with.
-
Explain the situation to an instructor or S&TA and get their take. Then have them approach this person. That way you don't look like a sky god and they are more likely to take what thet say to heart.
