  1. I'm pretty sure Ramon http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=ramon;guest=3550648 has and if has hasn't he can ask Eric Butts who is the cobalt test jumper in the photo of the onxy. Skymonkeyone (Mr. Blue) probably has jumped it as well. (He was on the Cobalt team before he started jumping for the PD team) ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -
  2. Precision is doing what is called the X-mod on the Extreme canopies which includes HMA lines and new stabilizers. http://precision.aerodynamics.com/X-Mod/X-Mod.htm However Icarus and PD are still using Vectran on their x-braced canopies. (at least the last couple new ones I've seen, not including the PD Factory team canopies) ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -
  3. Agreed that no one is bashing you, however it seems the general consensus is that the idea might not be the best thought out. I sure Bill Booth had a few glitches in the design of the three ring before he developed what we all use today. Perhaps you are on to something here but you're facing a glitch. Go to Kelly and talk to him about your idea. Maybe something can evolve from your idea. Or talk to a variety of riggers and get thier suggestions. As many others have said, test jump it allowing the 80lb cord to break. Nobody wants to see another incident report either here or in the USPA pub. ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -
  4. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=776438;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Look torward the middle of the strings and there is a picture about doubled type 8 webbing. I friend of mine has this and loves it. I think the rigger/gear store owner at CSS did it. ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -
  5. There was recently a post in Gear and Rigging on this topic. I personally use a slider keeper (velcro on my reserve flap) however this other post shows type 17 webbing sewn to the risers so that once the slider is pulled down the webbing holds the it in place. This way slider stays down but no attaching it to the container. I'll post the post for you D. Wish I could do that! ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -
  6. I agree with ccowdenand the 4.5 3.5 and 2. Unless I'm doing something over a 4way. I like to have my hard deck where I actually have some time to deal with a bad malfunction. ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -

  8. Yeah, it works. Just make sure both the hangers are pretty experienced (especially the bottom hanger). The lower hanger has to start the stand first and he will drag the top hanger down into position. ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. 9. There is an awesome video of Alchemy and Aria on Aria's web site www.aria.bz -------------------------------------------------------- Wish I could do that.... ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -
  10. What about the Luke Aikens swoop at the last PST meet? I think it was 405ft. Is there a video of that? By the way I agree that nothing should be taken away from Shannon's 418 and that 400+ in a 5' gate course is incredible ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. 11. Paul Okenfold has some good music (the song - Skydive, the album - the Essential Collection 98) A lot of the Trance music works well. And of course there's always the Offspring. ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -

  14. You can make a bite switch by getting a corded remotehttp://www.bhphotovideo.com/bh3.sph/FrameWork.class and splicing a switch http://www.sunshine-factory.com/cgi-bin/data/db.cgi?db=sf&uid=default&view_records=1&ID=1106 to the plug adapter. You might be able to find the plug adapter without the remote from a camera store. If you want a tounge switch you can get a $1 pressure switch from radio shack and make your own. Just a thought ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. Hayes -

  16. Check out the Phoenix lens on B&H. Only $155 for a pretty good wide angle (19mm-35mm, f3.5-4.5). They are made for Minolta, Cannon, Nikon... At least it doesn't cost $400-700 like many wide angles. You could have a good system for about $325 if you get the camera on e-bay.. "Buy good first, you'll always end up there anyways" http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh2/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=208245&is=REG hope this helps
