You're just jealous that works for us. As I gave a guy shit this weekend for finishing a pack job for his gf, asking if he would finish mine next, she retorts "are you going to suck his dick later?" A fine reply I thought, and continued with my pack job.

Just bought an Argus - What to do??
wildcard451 replied to Thedivingdog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Timing sucks. Suck it up. He had Argus for sale. You bought Argus. Argus deemed (currently) unacceptable for use. You got what you paid for - an Argus. Not seller's fault if you can't use it. -Amazed you would even consider trying to go back after him. -
Remove stick from ass. Then, proceed to enjoy life more.

SKYDIVING AFTER BADLY BROKEN ANKLE???
wildcard451 replied to ChristineDaffie's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
Without knowing your case personally, Krisanne gave about the best advice you are going to get from a forum. I honestly don't have much to add without seeing you as a patient. -
But, but, I can still tell people right? I mean, how else will they know I am cool?

Never had a curfew. Dad just said "you better be home by dawn, and it better not be by the cops." He trusted me enough to know that I knew what was right and wrong, and we never had a problem with each other.

And most importantly, he got it on video! So the runt's (probably distorted) account of what happened won't hold water. Unless, it was one of the runt's buddies who took the video and the runt told him to erase it. Other than that, looks like the big kid has a good case. I smell... LAWSUIT! Chuck Lawsuit is pretty unlikely, That happened in Australia, they would have both been suspended from school though. Sad that so many find it amusing That's ridiculous. It's sad that defending oneself can be punished. But he took defending himself to a much higher level than needed. Damn near breaking some kid's skull is not necessary, I don't care if he is a bully. Usually a single punch is enough to make a bully (especially one that clearly has little man syndrome) stop. Yes, I understand these guys are probably in middle school, but still. C’mon, you lost your right to complain how I react to your violence the moment you brought it upon me. If you punch someone, you cant complain “how” they kick your ass. Well I suppose you can but certainly you will not to be taken seriously. You don’t want someone to escalate a violent situation, don’t be violent towards them. It’s a shame this kid had to learn it the hard way. What, I am not allowed to have an opinion? You can react how you like, as can I. Head trauma is no joke. I'm not upset that the kid defended himself, I think that is awesome. All I was saying is that slamming a kid on his head is a little too much. One punch from the bigger kid would've likely sent the little bully flat on his back, and typically once you fight back bullies leave you alone. That's the problem when being a bully. You never know exactly who you are going to be picking on. That big kid didn't know how to fight. He had adrenaline and size advantage, and the little twerp got whatever was coming his way. One punch may have finished it, but the big kid didn't know HOW to channel his anger/fear/retaliation. I have NO sympathy for the little shit throwing the first punch. /the more I learned about fighting, the less I ever wanted to get into a fight.

Depending on ATC and airspace restrictions, then yes, it may be a federal case for that extra 500'. -

I work in an urgent care facility now. No appts. All walk-ins. On avg, I take 15min per acute care pt throughout the day. I base the avg on my times for between 7-10k pt visits per year. My front desk is very clear on how many patients I have ahead of them when new patients check in. I make it a point to poke my head in or have my office staff update the patients in rooms if I know something is delaying me. Usually if I have something serious enough to send to the ED, the ambulance pulling up tends to explain my delays for me. Communication is key.

When I was a resident, I did my best to say on time in a private practice office. However that doesn't always happen, as people and their medical problems are a dynamic issue, and a schedule is a static object. How do you suppose I handle it when I get to the door and my patient says, "oh by the way doc, I need to tell someone. I tried to kill myself this morning, but couldn't go through with it". A) Address the issue (yes it's happened) B) "that's nice, I have patients waiting" A respected teacher of mine once told me "Medicine is very easy, right up until the point when you add patients". Most of us are not out to get you, or profit exorbitant amounts off of you. However, every person is different, and that does not always fit nicely into a defined time frame. I've been late to the start of clinic hours because I had to finish delivering a baby. Do I leave the patient I have been with all night, that is my patient, 15 minutes before her delivery to make sure my clinic starts on time? Basically, we try. People are complicated.

Just curious. Hell, you're safe. You did well, and I sure as hell am not gonna dz.com hero your jump. /although I am curious where gopro guy in the green helmet went.

One Brake Unstowed on Opening

Thanks for the explanation as to why you suggested this. Hell, I might even give it a shot for shits and giggles. -
Do you loosen your chest strap after opening?
wildcard451 replied to skymama's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Every jump, all the way to the stop, with slack still left in the chest strap. Open Secure RDS +/- Bag/PC Clear rings Pop Brakes Loosen chest strap Hands back into brakes, etc.... Canopy much more responsive to harness input once the chest strap is loose. YMMV. -

One Brake Unstowed on Opening
wildcard451 replied to MakeItHappen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The exact same thing can be accomplished by pulling a brake to the catseye from full flight. So to practice a blown brake on opening we simulate it by making a moderately aggressive turn? I don't get it. A brake blowing out on opening is not going to raise slowly and produce a gentle spin. It is going to fly up and likely toss you into a violent spin while still inflating with/without linetwists. I'm happy for the teaching point and idea, I just don't see how this is more of a realistic simulation than just doing spirals while flying around the sky... -
Yeah, what you said.
