Me? Never... Well not unless you count that time where I came down to exit too fast and got thrown against the wall and yelled at, or the time when I was on my head and hit the wall and I forget who was in there with me but he thought I killed myself, or the time when we were doing 4-way and while waiting for the other 3 to exit I tried to sit fly in my bootie suit and I got tossed out of the tunnel, or when I was HD on the net with Joe and instead of gently taking a grip on him I flew into him and bowled him over... ah good times Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Skydive University is holding the Freefly Search this year. It's geared toward people wanting to learn to freefly (I believe) so it's probably below your level though. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Come on Arlo, haven't you ever seen me do 4-way in there? Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Good job getting off the net at all in 10.5 minutes! I'm happy to hear that Michael is on his way back to Orlando, although I thought the reason that he was going out there was to train more people to be able to spot HD? I have not kept track of my tunnel time at all but just to guess I would say that my total time is around 30 hours with probably about 15-20 on my belly, 8-10 freefly about 5 hours coaching (standing on the net and flying.) Total HD time is probably around 5 hours and I had maybe 30 HD jumps when I started freeflying in there. Most of my jumps are RW as is most of my tunnel time. Those numbers are complete guesses though, I really have no idea. It takes a while to be able to fly HD in there. Rosa - I love back flying in there too, I've done some very cool sessions in there with me on my back with other RW flyers, turned a bunch of points! 97 lbs?! Wow, you were built for freeflying in that thing, you could probably stand if they max it out! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I'm 150 and it's still work to fly HD in there. I also find it harder to start on the net and lift off then to just transition to HD and hold it. The air seems a bit better about 2 feet up off the net. Did you try stalling the HD (from a straddle doing forward and backward movements to lift you up off the net)? So don't do a camp if they make you do all that first. Just get a coach and do some one on one. If the person doesn't know you then you'll probably have to demonstrate that you can fly on your belly/back/sit before doing HD but you can do all that in a single session. Stuffit - how'd the HD go? The WYSIWYG editors are great if that's all you need to do and if you don't know HTML or just want to get some quick data up on the web. For anything else do it by hand. The last time I used FrontPage or DreamWeaver would have been when each released version 1 and that's probably the last I'll ever work with either of them. If I'm building a web page chances are it's got a lot of ASP, ASPX or JavaScript code in which case a WYSIWYG is worthless. EditPlus looks cool though, I'm going to download it now and try it out. Do you see a common thread here? It sounds to me like everyone is telling you not to fly that canopy. But I guess you know more then everyone else out there with hundreds and thousands of jumps. Just because you have landed it and managed to walk away from it without hurting yourself doesn't mean you know how to fly it. What happens if you get a bad spot and have to land in some tight little area between trees and power lines? What happens if you are not fully aware of your surroundings and fail to notice someone else under canopy? What happens when some guy with 50 jumps who feels he's the exception cuts you off under canopy because he's jumping too high of a wingloading? I'm not going to tell you not to jump that canopy, enough other people have. The only thing I'm going to say to you is be careful, if not for yourself then for everyone else around you. I think both - 5' gates for advanced, 10' gates for intermediate. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I'm guessing that since this is your first time flying HD in the tunnel that you will be doing it on the net? Here's some tips for HD on the net: After you grab the net put your head right in between your hands so when you flip yourself upside-down your hands are on the sides of your body and not pushing you forward or back. Put your head farther back then you think you have to, it's really easy to have your chin tucked against your chest and not realize it. Relax and go slow. Don't try to get off the net yet, get a good stable HD on the net first. Be able to stay stable HD on the net and take grips with both hands, turn and stop in both directions, move forward and back, etc. before trying to fly it off the net. Have fun!!

So when terrorists take out the major backbones of the internet and no one can get online I'll get an email notification of it? Sounds pretty cool to me... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

1.6 is a very high wingloading. I just a Stiletto 120 loaded about 1.45 and I start my 180 at about 400 feet. 200-300 feet sounds much too low for a canopy loaded at 1.6. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Can you post that video? I've only heard of leg locks, never actually seen them, or tried them for matter... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

LOL, nice pic! The only thing that would make a picture like that better is if you had a nice new purple two piece freefly jump suit on Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I don't remember who it was but he did survive and was fine. Just got up and had no injuries. It was definitely scary as hell to watch though. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com -
Never heard of it but it looks pretty cool. Let me know if you want some company if you check it out. It's pretty close to the tunnel so I'd be able to get out that way Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

If you want to fly for an hour/day then I'd definitely recommend splitting it up over at least 3 hours and breaking up the hour sessions as well so you're not in the chamber area for three hours straight. Also keep in mind that doing it this way qould require you (or a coach) to have 6+ hours booked for the time that you're in Florida. The tunnel in Orlando is very heavily booked through April right now so if you don't have your times booked get them fast! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
