You're not a real skydiver unless....

It's a definitely a very professional and incredibly fun dropzone, but it's a small landing area and the winds do get funky there some times. One of the times that I was jumping there we spotted the same as we had done all day (there was no indication that the winds had changed) and ended up about 5 miles off the dz. I learned to look down every now and then Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com -
Sounds like you need to come back down to Florida then Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

No problem Austin, those jumps were fun! How'd the presentation go? Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Right on Ray! It was tons of fun watching you guys swooping, I'll join you guys next time! Here's some of the pics that I took. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

No option for "Never been uncurrent since I started jumping" Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Unnecessary being the key word there. It's also not necessary to jump out of airplane, but it's fun as hell I personally LOVE the higher wind speed and can't wait until they start running the SkyVenture Orlando tunnel at 90%. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

1) A tunnel camp will generally cost you more than hiring a coach for the same amount of time, but you (generally) get more out of it. There are more people so each session is shorter allowing more brief and debrief time with the coach and with the video. The camps are also structured so there is a lot more besides just the tunnel time. 2) It all depends on what your goals are. If you want to be good at both then I'd suggest doing both in tunnel for half as long (which would mean hiring a coach rather than doing a camp.) Both your RW skills as well as your freefly skills will benefit tremendously from tunnel time, it is an invaluable tool for any orientation. Basically it's your decision based on what your looking to get out of it and how much money you're willing to put into it. The more money and time you put in the more you'll get out

Depends on the quaility of the food and service. At the place that we normally go to I tip between 15 and 20 percent to the server and I give a few bucks to the Sushi chefs as well. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Same, I'd guess in the 250ish range Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

All depends on my mood but I mostly listen to jazz, classical, punk and ska (and I didn't see any of those on the poll...) I pretty much listen to everything though. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Pictures from the tunnel competition have been posted on here There's two sets of pictures. The first is from the training day and the second is from the actual competition I've posted my two favorite pictures. The first is of Nancy and me carving with me docking her and the second is Nancy, Fabian, Juliana and me playing around on the walls. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Thanks Angela. I wish I lived closer to the tunnel, that 45 minute drive is starting to become a hassle... When are you guys going to be heading back this way? I'm sure you couldn't have gotten your fix of tunnel time yet I'm glad you're liking your suit.

Nice, I'd love to check out the video. I'll be up sometime in July to visit but I'm not sure of my plans yet. I'm thinking of being up there for the 4th though, gotta love fight night...

LOL, thanks! I had to do it But think how much cuter you'll look in there with one Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

It's a small space, but the more time you spend in there the bigger it feels. When we're practicing a new move we'll bang into each other as we're learning it. During the 2-way part of the tunnel competition I think we only unintentionally banged into each other once or twice... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

That size is fine. I've done them under a 135 and a 120 and I've seen one done under a Velocity 79! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Yeah, it happens to everyone. Try to smile - it much easier to be happy if you're smiling.

I was going to be going to the 140 ways but needed to cancel. I had a room reserved at the official hotel that Guy told us to stay at. I called them to try to change the reservation on the room and somehow they had managed to completely f*** up and lose all my info. They had no record of me or of my reservation and the confirmation number they had given me was for a person who had already stayed there a month ago. They would not do anything about it except tell me that I was wrong and I couldn't have made a reservation with them ever because their computer system could not have made a mistake I'd recommend if you have a reservation there call and make sure it's still there. You wouldn't want to show up on Tuesday only to find out then that they lost you too... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

After flying a lot of different kinds of tunnel suits and since the tunnel competition just ended I figured I'd write a review of my Ouragan suit. As everyone knows the air speed inside a wind tunnel is much slower than freefall speeds when freeflying. The usual freefly speeds in the SkyVenture Orlando tunnel are about 130mph depending on the outside air temperature and the humidity. 140mph is the fastest that I've flown in there. Due to the lower air speed it's necessary to find ways to slow your fallrate. This is done by both body position and the suit that is worn. Most tunnel suits are very big and baggy creating lots of drag. Ouragan tunnel suits work in an entirely different manner than this. My tunnel suit is slightly more baggy than my regular freefly suit. The way that these suits work is the material they are made of, the way the suit is designed and where the added material is. The result of this is a much tighter suit than the other tunnel suit out there but still offering the same (and I think more) amount of lift. The effect of the tighter suit is that you are flying your body in there, not the suit. Body position is much more important in these suit but you learn a lot more too. When I first switched from flying a huge baggy suit to the Ouragan suit it felt like I had lost all my lift. I had to relearn all the body positions in there. Once I started flying more efficiently I found all kinds of lift with the suit and now absolutely love it. I can fly any orientation in there comfortably - we've built a 4-way round of belly, back, sit, HD (no pictures of that but I will sometime!) Basically this suit flies unlike anything else in the tunnel and after taking the time to really get to know this suit I would hate to go back to anything else. They also look much nicer than any of the other tunnel suits out there I've posted a lot of tunnel pictures here but I posted a few 3-way Ouragan pictures to this thread. They're not the best quality, but you get the idea Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

She definitely does. You just know that anything that she attaches her name to is going to rock! All of her suits are the highest quality around and they look damn hot. I think that I'm going to write a review of my tunnel suit and post it here. You're definitely going to love your suit. Flyangel - chances are if you go to the tunnel in the evening you'll see me there I was going to be doing the 140 ways in ZHills next week, but I had to bail on them I'm still planning on stopping by one day just to say hi to everyone and see how they're going. Juan - I'm not addicted to the tunnel, I can stop anytime I want I'm waiting for them to make the tunnel into a liquid form that I can just inject directly You just let me know when you will be here and I'll be on that tube
