  2. PM sent Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  3. I just got off the phone with Nancy and here is what she said: The base price for a freefly suit is $290, the base price for a tunnel suit is $350. Custom designs start at $65 and goes up based on how complex the design is. The custom designs are not available for tunnel suits. The Dave Brown cut is a more form fit cut than the regular suit. It has very little drag on the arms on the legs. Right now the delivery time is between 3 and 4 months and she is not taking any more rush orders as she is so backed up. I have an Ouragan tunnel suit and it rocks! It offers tons of lift for a suit that is not too baggy. It also looks damn good The quality of the suits is second to none. I have never had any problems with my suit and I have put a ton of hours on it. I am extremely happy with my tunnel suit and will be ordering a sky suit soon (and hopefully swoop pants too.) Nancy and her suits rock. You will definitely get a badass suit that looks and flies great! I posted some pictures of Nancy and me in the tunnel a while back here if you want to see our suits. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions about the suits
  4. I believe that quote is refering to the fact the Katana takes a long time to recover from a dive. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  5. I'm point on my team and the way I do the move is I key the formation with tail and move out (so OC has room for the move) and do about a 270 immediately so I can see where the piece is turning to. I finish the rest of the turn slowly and moving back in so that when I finish my turn I will guarantee the catch. I super impose the turn with sort of a V shape as I move away and then back in. 6. This allows the leader to have a better back track as well. You could also do a round following this idea where the formation is in front of and above the leader who is on his back. If that and the V's are too easy then do multiple "points." Start with a standard V (leader in front), go to a reverse V, go to a round. You could also to a standard V where the leader is on his belly above and in front of the rest of the formations and every one is on their backs looking up and forward to the leader. You can lead it in a reverse track on your belly so you are going feet first looking back at the formation. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  7. You could do a multiple orientation tracking dive where you start out with the leader in the middle on his back and the rest of the formation is in a vertical V above the leader. The leader then transitions to an atmonauti, then HD, then atmonauti the other way, then to a belly track so you end up tracking one way and basically turning around. The rest of the formations goes from belly tracking, to atmonauti, to HD, to the other atmonauti to back tracking. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  8. Pretty busy weekend with the team training and all - 24 jumps and 3.5 hours of tunnel over 2 days... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  9. How's your thumb feeling? You going to come out and play this weekend?
  10. That wasn't the goal of what he was doing, but I believe that his protrack recorded speeds of over 100 mph while under canopy (hook turning, not full flight) Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  11. One thing that a lot of people don't seem to realize is that the gear manufacturers talk to each other. They are friends with each other and know what is going on. There was a team (probably many more than one) that was talking to company A for sponsorship. Company A offered the team a certain deal. The team when went to company B and said "Company A is offering us this deal, what can you do." Company B said "nothing, go back to Company A" and then spoke to Company A and told them what the team was doing. The team ended up getting nothing. 12. If go to the NSL Homepage and click on News the video of both DeLand Majik and the French world record are now at the bottom of the page. Here is a Direct Link to the Majik 41 point dive. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  13. It sounds like you're off to a great start already. I would recommend going here and check out the IPC dive pool. It contains the randoms (single formations) and block (two formation with a specific way to transition in between them.) Learn these formations and practice them. It would hurt to learn the letter names for the randoms and the numbers for the blocks as well. Also check out the National Skydiving League web page. There is a ton of information up there as well as lots of 4-way video. There are books and videos on 4-way as well. The Arizona Airspeed web site sells the Best of Airspeed video as well as the 499. The 499 contains Airspeed's entire 4-way plan as of 1999. DeLand Majik also put out a great DVD which I highly recommend. Talk to the local RW and 4-way jumpers at your dropzone. I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out. You can check out TunnelCamp.com for training at the wind tunnel as well.
  14. Shrek 2 was GREAT! I loved the part when the Starbucks was attacked and everyone ran out of it to the other Starbucks accross the street! We were laughing for almost the entire movie straight. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  15. Congrats and good luck with move Paige. I'm stocking up on wine and tunnel time for you...
  16. Hey thanks everyone! Lara - it's too late, I've already spent all my money and then some at that crack tunnel. And what's so crazy about my hair? Most of the neon green has faded! Yup, you wanna give me a birthday present? Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  17. Indeed, it always fun demonstrating something and smashing into the wall There's a lot more pressure on your feet since there's way more surface area down there. If I'm walking on the net a lot with my bootie suit on I'll usually flip off the booties. Bootie flying is great - it's a lot of fun and since you dearch your back it's very relaxing after flying on your belly. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  18. Arms and upper body moving forward and back without actually having the rest of your body mov around the tunnel. It's one of the excercises used when learning to walk around the tunnel. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  19. Sounds like fun! I love playing around in the tunnel doing tunnel specific things (like playing on the net / walls.) One of my most recent tunnel tricks that I've done (that I thought I was being original with but found out people have done it ) is doing a "Matrix style" fight scene in there. It came out really cool with us doing flips and using the walls. I'll see if I can get the video onto my computer as I think it definitely qualifies as "tunnel tricks"
  20. Actually Arlo, I think it's Solly who is about to break off into some booty flying... You can pause it right when they pose for the camera and see everyone's face through their helmet. It looks like Joey was flying OC and Gary was flying Point for the dive... I love how you can see that there are still things they can do to increase the speed. These guys are absolutely amazing! Go Majik!! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  21. Yeah I saw the video, it was an incredible skydive. The amazing thing about it is it looked much cleaner than the 42 point world record. Every point was static and presented. Majik also got a 25.5 point average for the 6 round meet. DAMN! Our team (Down To Earth) had our first training camp this past weekend and competed at the FSL to see where we are starting. We posted an 11.4 with some not so clean skydiving... but we're all looking forward to a good season. Bill, what's your team and how was the weekend with Chromy? Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  22. The wind tunnel in Orlando will also be raising its prices in July Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  23. And this can be waived as well. The only thing you NEED a coach rating for is to get the other instructional ratings. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  24. Hmmm, as far as I know SDU does not have an official freefly program. There was the Freefly Search this past year but I'm not quote sure how SDU actually handled it. I've spoken to Rob about making freefly an official part of SDU and will be talking with him more about it. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
