1. From your sky birthday til your first year anniversary, how many jumps did you complete? Did you get a slow start or did you jump in full blast from the start? I guess it doesn't apply to people who havn't been in the sport a year, like me! But I'll sit back interested in what the results will be. Thanks!

  4. most guys I see wear ear plugs wear them in the ride up and take them off as they gear up at the 2 minute warning. Also, generally it's the older (maybe wiser? hehe ) guys I see doing this. Maybe they've had a few more years to subject themself to ear damage and know whats going to hurt in the long run. I don't wear them but it sounds like a good idea to me! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

if the discussion inherently stirs up bad emotions/further subjects mullins to judgement I think it has no place on this board. I wish a moderator would lock this. It makes me feel bad that people have the gall to talk about things that could reopen old wounds in other people. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

probably no one is stepping up to a mike mullins bashing fest like you want bc they don't think it is right and/or any of their business. I think the intentions in this thread are sick and wrong. Why cause anymore duress to mullins himself or his family when the case has been put to rest. Let's let sleeping dogs lie, please. 13. What's up! I jump at the skydiving place in parkton NC but am willing to travel to get some good crew instruction! CRW has been on my mind ever since I started skydiving and would really like to find someone to jump with to teach me the basics, etc. Normally I wouldn't like to post this kind of thing in a public forum but I am having a lot of trouble finding CRW jumpers in my area (I talked to one once but have not seen him since! ). At this point I am looking to put a lot of energy into becoming proficient with basic CRW skills (with the intentions of taking on some more complex stuff later). I have enough money to buy a CRW specific canopy, but am waiting on instruction from an experienced CRW jumper before I buy something I will find won't work for me later. So if you're in NC and willing to take on a pup drop me an email at andy@nc(nospam).rr.com (minus the (nospam) of course!) or PM me on this website! I'm really looking foward to getting into CRW and want to do it right and remain safe (as possible!) while doing it. C ya in the sky! *edit - or if you can put me in touch me some NC CRW dogs I'd really appreciate that too! I'd be thankful for any help!
  14. i'm 20. I don't find that unusual at my DZ although the average age is probably more about late twenties, early 30s. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

  16. i've ran 30+ miles in one day, and i've ran ~20ish a lot of times. Never in a race, 99% of people would be HARD PRESSED to complete a marathon. How about builing a 5 way after running a 5k? Most people could do that! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

who gives a shit, let's skydive! If mike can get me to altitude quick I don't give a rat's ass about what he did or did not do in his past! 19. do skydiving stunts for movies. You get paid assloads for the money shots!
  20. i've only had a few coaching jumps so far (about 10) but all of mine have been for free! It's guys at the DZ that are good at freeflying that arn't busy with their team or whoever theyre training with at the time and dont mind taking time to teach beginners. It's guys (and girls!) like that that keep the sport alive imo and have helped me greatly so far in my progression. So thanks to anyone out there that coaches newbie freeflyers for the joy of giving back to the sport. We appreciate it!
  21.
without bending your body
in my experience from a full track the only way to barrell roll is to bend your body. Any other way and you lose too much horizontal distance while doing the manuever. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

  25.
The XXXXXX in XXXXXX County is the third highest in the United States and a favorite destination for daredevil parachutists. However, that's a distinction officials would like to change. It's called BASE jumping, an acronym for Building, Antenna, Span and Earth. It involves parachuting off of earth-bound objects, such as high bridges. It should come as little surprise that BASE jumping is against the law in most places it is practiced. Just this week, a sheriff's deputy cited three men for BASE jumping from the XXXXX Bridge. Last week, an Israeli was critically injured in a jump from the bridge when his parachute failed to open completely. From the very beginning, the 730-foot-tall XXXXXX Bridge has had a strong lure for BASE jumpers. "There's something that really strikes their fancy because ever since the bridge has been open, people have been jumping off it in some way," said Lt. Karl Fulenwider of the XXXXX County Sheriff's Department. Now the Sheriff's Department is launching a crackdown on jumpers. They've vowed that those who violate laws against parachuting from the structure will be arrested and prosecuted. XXXXX County occasionally allows stunts on the bridge, such as the a spectacular parachute jump from a falling car in the action movie "Triple X" two years ago. In most cases, however, concerns about liability make jumping without permission an arrestable offense. The owner of an Auburn firm that makes parachutes and other equipment for BASE jumpers said illegal jumping is bad for business. "It creates a bit of a stigma, casts a shadow on us," said Adam Filippino of Consolidated Rigging. "You know, skiing is not illegal, [but] skiing out of bounds might not be sanctioned."
--------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
