  1. is the 1/8" bracket laying flat on top of the helmet? If so, that's an over kill, you could go with 1/2 the thickness. Mine's flat against the top of the helmet, and bolted through it. my pics & stuff!
  2. depends if the mount is just flat, or like a fin so you can do vert. If it's flat, .06 or .05 is just fine. But if your are making it so it's vert, probably .09 or .100. That should be rigid enough. my pics & stuff!
  3. The best would be to have the student film themselves. Then, they get what they pay for, and it's not as scary for the TI. I did these when I had to ride bitch for someone crossrating....man I hate the landings. my pics & stuff!
  4. something that gives everyone bad breath! my pics & stuff!
  5. gotta agree with dave. If you carry that attitude that it won't happen, I'd say your asking for it. And when it does.....and someone see's it....your gonna get a ton of shit for it. I like the humble approach myself. After all, we're only human. my pics & stuff!
  6. come on, that shit happens to all of us. It's good to look back and laugh at it.....and of course learn. my pics & stuff!
  7. did it in 25 exactly, and was pretty stoked. But looking back, pretty friggin sketchy considering the gear. my pics & stuff!
  8. Did the same a few years back, and it was awesome. She got video too. my pics & stuff!
  9. http://home.nordnet.fr/~paramag/archives/n132/article/article-us.html I used some stuff from here on a report myself. my pics & stuff!
  10. good question, curious myself. I've been using jpeg, and get a lot more on the card. I've blown up 11x17 prints, and they look just fine. Don't really see the advantage of RAW since the places I've taken the pictures to to get enlarged only accept jpeg or bitmap. my pics & stuff!
  11. It's really about what works for you, and you doing a damn good job at it. Before filming on my back, I would do the roll. The shot looks sweet. But I like filming on my back, and it gives a different perspective. Here's 3 shots, first 2 rolling, and the last on my back. Rough opening for #3. my pics & stuff!
  12. that's funny. I did my 666th with some friends, and then told them afterwards. One guy got really freaked out over it for some reason. I thought it was funny. my pics & stuff!
  13. so ummmm.....what was the ruling on this one. ....waiting as I relign my canopy. my pics & stuff!
  14. informing you that you may have a problem, sure... dropping everything else and fixing it for you?? hardy.. it isnt their 'responsibility' at all, it's YOURS... one of the downsides of the increasing popularity of skydiving seems to be the more prevalent personality type and attitude that believes someone else should be doing everything they can to 'save you from yourself' ... take some personal responsibility. Chose, inspect and maintain your own gear.. its your life that hangs on it.... if you decide to pay someone to pack your chute for you, dont expect them to 'wipe your ass' when you neglect the important details... its not the packers ass in the air... take care of your packers and they will take care of you, but don’t expect it as ‘part of the service’ as many jumpers seem to when they toss a tangled mess on the mat and walk off… yeah, what he said! my pics & stuff!
  15. hmmmmm, i guess you got me there. my pics & stuff!
  16. Easy killer. It's easy to see how you and your 200+ jumps would know about this. The packer is not your baby sitter. Andyman pretty much put it right. my pics & stuff!
  17. I knew I'd get shit for that one. I NEVER said it was ok to do that, and I don't condone it. BUT, being on that end where you are busting your ass to do as many as possible, you ARE being paid to pack. Yes, you could say it's part of the job, but that is something the jumper should be taking care of. That's just my view of it. As a rigger doing a reserve....totally different story. my pics & stuff!
  18. you are paying them to pack, not set brakes, not unstow sliders, not take twists outa the brake lines, not wipe mud off your ass.... my pics & stuff!
  19. B cup? my pics & stuff!
  20. it's nothing about the popping....it's all about the ringing I hear the rest of night after spending all day next to the otters engines. I usually wear them the whole plane ride and freefall....then take them out under canopy. Though I've been bitch slapped by the risers a few times and that usually removes at least one of them. my pics & stuff!
  21. I generally only wear them when doing tandems, cuz I'm sitting closer to the front of the otter, and it's much louder. But, I should wear them always in the plane, and know it. my pics & stuff!
  22. not to mention, it will only attract dirt. I just clean the cables with lighter fluid....no lubrication....he he he...that sounded funny. my pics & stuff!
  23. "albums"?....or cd's. my pics & stuff!
  24. Tried the stalling the canopy, and then letting the toggles back up fast too...thinking the same thing. Did it 3 times, and was kicking my ass. Didn't work, and chopped. my pics & stuff!
  25. yuppers, had a buddy open under a double flip through on a tandem, and he chopped. And watched a student land a step through that was through a line group below the slider....very odd looking, almost like landing linetwists...scary to watch. my pics & stuff!
