  1. Maybe this isn't all that uncommon, but I was in total awe when I saw this. Look at the first pic and guess what kind of reserve it is. Then look at the next & see the brake line routing. The third is the brake line cascade....and the last tells the story of the reserve brand. My question is....what would you do if you found this. And know this...it came from a master riggers shop/DZ. Not packed by him, but assembled at his place. There is no data card prior to '05 (when it was assembled). my pics & stuff!
  2. for sure.... anyone wanna trade a hawkeye for a flatop? my pics & stuff!
  3. like this pic? This is how it used to be, and for the most part is still do-able but I'd have to remove the bracket from the clamp. The old way was more of a pain in the ass to assemble. But...the weight wasn't as high up either. my pics & stuff!
  4. Had the straboframe thing for a while and it was perfect for swapping 2 different cameras out. But I'm liking this MUCH better. I mounted my flash on a quick release so I could attach it to my L bracket. Pretty top heavy though. Shooting either vert or horiz is a breeze! Wish I had this setup a long time ago. my pics & stuff!
  5. these aren't the best, but gives you an idea....I'm pretty sure this is lemon by the way...someone learn me if I'm wrong. edited to add....it's the yellowish parts of the canopies. my pics & stuff!
  6. if it is anything like 10, get your patience pants ready. my pics & stuff!
  7. ummm, pretty sure he was talking to Scott. my pics & stuff!
  8. I'm pretty sure the IR focusing only works in auto mode. In the other modes, it uses the focusing points inside the camera. My flash is mounted flat and the thought came to me too. my pics & stuff!
  9. I learned from several different riggers, some used them, some made fun of those that used them. I've ALWAYS used them. And it's the pro-stack method that's worked best for me. As for clamping the A lines in front of the nose/lines, odd place I think...but whatever works for you. I do clamp the C & D linegroups once it's on the floor to keep them together. It's really whatever works best for you. No way is better than the other. Really, the end result is 'hoping' the fucker opens when called on. Of course, leaving the clamp on there hinders that. Also, I only use 5 clamps, and yes I count them. my pics & stuff!
  10. Dude, I think it's awesome you guys got to jump together! ...still want that canopy? my pics & stuff!
  11. I think she's screaming cuz of that nasty ass hat she has to wear. my pics & stuff!
  12. I've been using the pecpads with the eclipse solution as well. As for holding the pads, i have an old rubber spatula (the kind for totally cleaning out the peanut-butter jar) that's cut narrow enough to get the sensor. Same concept as the credit card. my pics & stuff!
  13. Here's my attempt with 35mm several years ago. The digital way seems like a lot of work, but a very nice photo if done right. my pics & stuff!
  14. Here's one from last year. The weather here sucks ass, so I gots nuttin that's recent. my pics & stuff!
  15. Just curious, have you talked to the 2 riggers that initially inspected the rig and asked if they remember ANYTHING about the burn or ripped seam? I just see that as something impossible to miss. my pics & stuff!
  16. not a problem with mine either. And the shackles (on my tony suit) are made of brass and are taking all the wear. my pics & stuff!
  17. I used godaddy for hosting and web-domain name for my site....and am using shutterfly for the selling of photo's....ONLY to make it simpler for selling them. You can watermark your photo's with shutterfly which is nice too. Obviously I would make more if I sold them myself but wanted to try this route. The shutterfly pro gallery is 100 bucks a year. You could probably find a cheaper/better method. This was my first shot at it. And I used frontpage for the website which is also a first for me. my pics & stuff!
  18. It's only an issue if you have no master rigger around.....and the props are turning.... my pics & stuff!
  19. So does this mean AAD's are going to be required next unless signed off by a master rigger? I don't see the good in this, especially all the rigs that now can't be jumped....or repacked. Dam, a lot of my rigging customers own javelins....poor bastards. my pics & stuff!
  20. I tried the beta version and didn't like that I couldn't save the photo's once I made the changes. From what I could tell, it was only for printing purposes. Or maybe that was only the beta version. my pics & stuff!
  21. that's exactly what I have & them lasting longer is why I have them. my pics & stuff!
  22. the 2 teams I was with the last 2 years had used an Apple with whatever software it came with. And it seemed to work very good for them. I would fire-wire to the apple and then be done. They could cut off what they didn't want and go from there. Then at the end of the weekend, burn DVD's for everyone. my pics & stuff!
