  1. I do have one hybrid and the other 3 are CRW only. I do have access to the rest of the canopies (a total of 5....4 135's and one 120). That's about what I figured...they just aren't that popular. my pics & stuff!
  2. First of all, I don't do CRW and really know nuttin about it. I'm selling a bunch of gear for a buddy that has stopped jumping and doesn't want to deal w/ it anymore. I've had 3 CRW triathlon's in the classifieds and no one has even asked about them. They all have less than 100 jumps on them. I know the Lightnings seem to be the popular canopy of choice. Are the Tri's just not used? A little insight would be helpful. my pics & stuff!
  3. Don't make 'em big and don't make 'em small. And no on the issue w/ tube stows. It's been done for years. If it were an issue, it's would be common knowledge (I hope). my pics & stuff!
  4. My opinion....if your just blasting tandem pics and don't want to put in any extra work....go jpg. If you want something to work with and putting more effort in....go RAW. Wish I had started shooting in RAW at first. It is time consuming but well worth it. Yes it takes more memory and the I don't get as many shots in RAW mode, but I'm choosing my shots carefully....not too mention I almost ALWAYS use a flash and it doesn't fire w/ every shot anyway. my pics & stuff!
  5. I didn't want any either.....but this is what happens when you don't pull out (in time). He's got 80 jumps in the womb and grew up at the dz. Plus he's got his own rig custom made by me. my pics & stuff!
  6. Gotta love the flash! Makes all the difference! my pics & stuff!
  7. Really?...how could you miss it? It's right here. I don't think you could get any closer. What a shame that DZ moved. edit to add....come to skydive oregon. It's not a ghost town during Lost Prairie....but the mountain does look smaller. On the bright side, Mt hood is pretty close.... my pics & stuff!
  8. I totally agree....like this, this or this this. my pics & stuff!
  9. I'm going over 2,000 on the my current risers. But I jump mainly in the northwest where the sun doesn't shine that often and the landing area isn't desert. my pics & stuff!
  10. ummm....I'm selling 3 belts. An old teammate of mine is done jumping and gave me all his gear to sell. I just haven't gotten around to posting it yet, still going through all of it. But...I do have pics. Let me know if any of these do anything for you. www.linestretch.net Click the gear for sale link. my pics & stuff!
  11. I couldn't tell you what he's been up to. He grew up in southern california....and last I remember, he was pretty scrawny. He'd be about 37ish now. my pics & stuff!
  12. An hold high school friend told me saw a mutual buddy from high school named Mike Teague jumping at Elsinore. Anyone know him and maybe an email address? my pics & stuff!
  13. Your comment is that everyone's body type is generic and that's just not so. We all bend and move differently. I'm not counting on the bungie to save me, I'm counting on it to keep the leg straps from occasionally sliding down my leg. I'm not worried about falling out of my rig. my pics & stuff!
  14. that's too much of a blanket statement. All harness's fit everyone just a little different. Mine's made to fit me & the leg straps would still occasionally migrate w/o it. For some, it may be needed regardless, for others (even w/ poorly fitted gear) it may not. my pics & stuff!
  15. Here's mine from '07. my pics & stuff!
  16. yuppers, thought of that already. They are all the same. What else is odd is that it may start off perfect and then as the batch goes, the text gets bigger. So big that only the middle of the text is showing up on the photo. As for rotating them, it's all been done in either canon photo pro or rawshooter. my pics & stuff!
  17. thanx, that worked awesome....for a bit. Now, for some reason, the photo's I'm watermarking show the text HUGE. It worked great for about 500 photo's and then changed. Very odd, I was using the same template for either vertical or horizontal format. Even tried restarting PS. Anyone? my pics & stuff!
  18. you know, maybe it's just something you have to experience to understand. Like trying to explain why skydiving is soo much fun w/ all the added risks. Driving a station wagon may seem fun until you've driven say a ferrari. my pics & stuff!
  19. Still no such luck. When I hook up the camera and turn it on, it automatically opens a scanner. Explore doesn't even see it. my pics & stuff!
  20. My camera worked great with my XP laptop. But vista won't cooperate. The driver I have won't work and didn't see anything for the 10D concerning vista on the canon USA site. Anyone know of a fix?....or am I missing something. my pics & stuff!
  21. personally, I think it's all due to the flash. If you used a flash that bounced off the ceiling or a wall, you'd not get that. The flash it shooting through the heat signiture from the flame. The slower shutter speeds would also be less likely to show it due to it all blurring and just sorta blurring in. Like taking a shot of snow falling. A slow speed and you won't get the flakes falling, it will just look like it snowed. Faster and you get the flakes falling. But your using a flash anyway so the speed is pointless. You'd need to bounce it, but you can't with the built in flash. my pics & stuff!
  22. sorry, that wasn't directed at you....it's more the "oh this will do" aspect. Really, whatever works for you. And yes, my helmet does move some. It's a hawkeye and I hate it, but I've had it for a long time and will most likely stay with it. Not too mention, I don't fly in one orientation. Filming RW, shooting tandems on my back, sitflying and head down....yes, it does move enough to where the dot on the goggles would be half assed. my pics & stuff!
  23. , Huh? Not unless you realign it, right? not really. The site can pivot out of the way very easily. put the helmet back on and reposition it. Even if it's been knocked a little, you can see that the crosshairs aren't in the middle and know that the site has been moved. As for the comment above with the mark on the goggles, I disagree. It may work for some, but I think it's a half-assed way of doing it.....really depending on what your looking to get....and judging by how your work looks. The relative wind WILL hit your helmet differently and move the aim of the camera while your goggles stay in one place. No arguement about the ring site being a snag hazzard though. my pics & stuff!
  24. My opinion is that if your serious about taking quality photos/video (like being centered), you need either one of those ring sites....and NOT a dot on your goggles or just an orange disc. I know from experience that when some dumb ass knocks your ring site in the plane, the alignment rings/crosshairs (depending on which one you have) still guide your eye to where to aim. The orange disc will have you aiming in the wrong direction. The dot on your goggles?....well, depending on how you put your goggles on and how you put your helmet on don't always line up. And not too mention, once your outside the plane, the air will hit your camera helmet and move it enough to make it NOT line up....that's another situation where the correct (yes overly priced) ring site will correct it...or at least let you know where to aim. For getting started, I would put a dot on your goggles and try that. But you'll soon see that you're gonna need something better. And look around on here, you'll see someone selling one for much less than para-gear charges. I have the one from para-gear (cheaper than brents), I think it's the newton and I'm very happy with it. It's been bumped numerous times and has saved my ass. But will admit, it's a snag hazard. As for the size difference?...I don't know the difference. my pics & stuff!
  25. I use a wing jacket and can do it in shorts or pants. It's nice to be able to do either. And I film the whole thing on my back...from exit to deploy....that way the transition isn't an issue. Plus, I can go SOOO much slower on my back than on my belly, all while staying low enough so I'm not just filming the instructors face. And it's not really a 'sit' or back flying position (for me anyway), it's more of a reclining position....arms out to your side. my pics & stuff!
