Riots over a shoting turn into free jordans and 40's
mirage62 replied to Anvilbrother's topic in Speakers Corner
1. If you are a P.O. and your department wants you to carry a gun - you MUST have body video. Period. Sure it cost money - it's part of the "responsibility" of having a weapon. We the people need to pay for it. Wouldn't fix it all, there are people that won't believe forensic evidence in this case....they won't believe that the "white man" didn't photo shop the video. But for the average person it would help. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little -

Being a below average fighter (as a young man) I KNOW I'd been afraid. My brother is a PO. He was a worse fighter than me - but he's gotten a LOT better through the years. I'm glad I didn't go into law enforcement, I'd shot someone for sure. I thought the cop was toast when Holder got involved. It SEEMED like this has been studied in depth, but truly racism is alive and well. (Not saying that DW was guilty of anything, personally I believe the grand jury. I suspect they wanted to charge him to avoid what is going on but couldn't because of the evidence) Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little -

Wow, Obama to speak at 10:00 PM. I really believe that the President should stay out of this. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little -

I for one am VERY concern about how people will react if they charge the officer. You just don't know how these hot headed whites will respond. Should the officer be charged I'm glad that the national guard, state patrol and local law enforcement are prepared. It certainly seems reasonable that a few local business get burn to the ground or looted. (disclaimer. While you may not like my humor it is insane that some believe - no matter what the decision - that actions of looting are acceptable) Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little -
I hope they do ditch it. Also as a tactic Reid's holding bills to save Democrates from having to vote on possibly dangerous bills seems to have not work, I hope that goes in the trash heap of history. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

So we the people have spoke, some will wake up this morning and celebrate the new Republican senate - others will cry. The talking heads will discuss if it was a wave, was it Obamas fault, and why, why, why. I have so little faith in our leaders - both parties. The Democrats will now do to the Republicans (block and delay) as was done to them ..... and fools that we are, some will cheer. When will a party leadership (either) be wise enough to get us off this track???? Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

No, the Dem ran as a single issue candidate, in a very anti-Obama election. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Yep+1 To the previous poster, many church have changed their beliefs on gays, women's ect. Much depends on the church you chose. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

My sib found it odd also....but more in line with what other posters have said here. I.E. "proud" that the gay community had come so far. Proud that a man of his position could comfortably "come out" Still we think a lot alike and "proud" is not the word they would chose. OOPS.... I support more rights than you currently have and don't understand why you don't have them RIGHT now, but your lumping a whole lot of people into your statement. Many, many Christians and "right tribe" people feel the way I do. A majority - I doubt it - but no reason to blanket the entire group (the right) with that comment. (I don't want to be defensive here - but truthfully for the ones that will just slam the idea that someone on the right that goes to church CAN'T support gay rights I'd ask are you IN a church. I really don't care to hear about the church you went to 20 years ago or your friend that is a Christian that hates gays....) I suspect that the coming out stories are like skydiving accident stories... the bad ones "I can't stop thinking about the disgusting things you do in bed" get a lot more air time than the understanding and loving stories. I have a gay sib, with 4 sibs and most of you know none of them (and I cleared this) I have walked the life of a right tribe person. I've grown and changed views - but I am a conservative Christian. I love my sib like nobodies business, there sexual orientation doesn't count for shit compared to all the good stuff they do as a person. So all I'm suggesting is be careful not to lump a group of people all together....gays don't like it (in a negative term) and neither do us right tribe, Christian.

To be fair I did supply the link, but in context your correct I should have included that part. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Really, well there have been 18 other replies (not counting mine) so while you feel apparently short an avenue of expression others seem ok. Sorry. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Very true, I believe that many of the other states are on there way. Gays certainly face much discrimination that I as a straight, white male don't have to deal with. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Quade, I'm a assuming that when you say "Why do YOU think..." that you aren't meaning me but "you" a generic because I have never ever remotely suggested that. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Jakee, It's an open forum but is there a particular reason your so snarky? I don't have anything to "Get over" Since I posted "I'm hoping that others may have something to add to the conversation" several poster added comments that I agreed were worth while post. Many of your post strike my as someone who likes to be aggressive behind the keyboard, no need for that. Relax. You don't like my post - skip them and I'll do the same for yours. Sorry, but for me that isn't much of an answer. I mean really I would support (not that it matters) "As a gay man I am proud of the progress we have made over the last 10 years." for example. But the act of being gay (or straight) is not a thing to be proud of one way or the other. I'm hoping that others may have something to add to the conversation - other than gays had it hard so they can be proud. They certainly have and continue to it some areas, but what are we up to 30 states that allow gay marriage (good). Do we really need to continue to debate (separate) gays from main stream America? Note: Mr. Cook can certainly be proud to be gay, that is his decision. I just don't think it's something to be proud of. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Tim Cook, Apple CEO recently said: Cook says in an essay for Bloomberg BusinessWeek. “So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.“ http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/technology/tim-cook-says-he-is-%e2%80%9cproud-to-be-gay%e2%80%9d/ar-BBc25yw?ocid=iehp Truthfully I don't get that statement. I mean my gay friends don't seem "proud" to be gay and certainly never state that. They sure aren't ashamed to be gay either (as they certainly shouldn't be!) But imagine what would happen if Warren Buffet had made the same statement for being straight “So let me be clear: I’m proud to be straight, and I consider being straight among the greatest gifts God has given me.“ I fairly sure some people will open this thread thinking I was gay bashing, far from it, but I don't see being gay or straight as something to be proud of. Personally I believe you are born gay or straight and that's just the way it is. Now being CEO of Apple is something that would make my mama proud.
