Oh yeah...summer time traffic anywhere remotely close to the shore is a DOG to deal with. (I was born and raised in Point Pleasant) so might skip Wildwood but nice to know Cross Keys is only a hop, skip and a jump from The Ranch - I had a BLAST last summer at Cross Keys and we jumped our asses off as Pilot Rob did 39 skyvan loads. This started as wanting to plan something with a bunch of other dz.com peeps but now I think I'm gonna just be selfish and say this is what I want to do and start making plans - or watching for cheap flights. When we started talking about this WEEKS ago SouthEast Air had GREAT deals on flights $69 each way but now they are up to $129 and $99.....Thinking hopeful, something good will come along ~ See ya at The Ranch on or around the 4th of July!!!!!!!!!! Yup...and although the ball has kinda been dropped for now (we are skydivers and it IS like MONTHS away ) I still think The Ranch is the place I am favoring................Never been there, lots of my pals will be there and it is only a short drive to see some family. But I didn't know it had officially been titled the Kolla Boogie I love things that make me go "ooooo" and "aaahhhhh" Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Our jump in Zhills was a bit "distracting" - being the first ride to altitude in between rain and then exiting headdown and realizing I need to pass a Barbie and I'd never even tried a dock type move on my head... Damn Sisco takes the best damn pictures....I can't wait to fly with him some day and get my picture snapped And as for Kate - she did lotsa jumps when I was first learning my headdown. Oh I'm breathing and actually got some video proof of it and with that, talked some other newbie headdown pals into trying the same little exercise .......also tried my first headdown chase which did not go so well but it was fun to try. Eventually got on level but never made it up close and personal . I think I've just found the fun again after telling others that you need to keep it all fun, despite the work. Patience........... OH MY GOSH...Saturday we did have some winds after all the clouds passed but the sky was blue - some braved the winds and eased some worried minds so others wrapped up Saturday with some fun and safe jumps. Hardly a stitch of wind ALL DAY Sunday...it was GGGGRRRRREAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well I just have to say, this had to be one of the BEST weekends for me in so many ways...cold finally disappeared on Friday afternoon so I could make 9 spectacular jumps, saw a bunch of old and new pals for an ENTIRE weekend, weather was BEAUTIFUL almost every minute of the entire weekend and my headdown made some serious progress (in my eyes). I've got about 100 jumps under my belt now working on "headdown" and I was able to exit, open the grip and then release it and stay docking distance from my partner on SEVERAL jumps. Had some minor movement but never allowed a big gap to form. I attempted to make a few docks but just couldn't quite get it and also tried my first "chase" headdown out that door that didn't quite go as planned but I didn't care - I was having fun and felt VERY HAPPY that I seemed to cross a line, make a step, whatever you want to call it. I was right there in my pals face (or he just made me THINK I was really flying my ass off )...ok, a few times we were orbiting a bit but had some big ass cheese ball grins the entire time and never let the movement get us more than 10 feet from each other. It was cool - planned or not So all I have to say is that if you work hard enough, invest maybe a little bit of cash in coaching and do solos until you "get the jist of it" - the skill will come and then all that will be left to do is fine tune it. Be safe, be motivated, be determined and for goodness sakes have fun ~ you are flying in the sky Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

And of all the days to plan NOT to show....Sunday ~ when the winds were still and the swoops were plentiful and the beach was a site to see from 8,000 when most of us deployed and played over the turquoise waters. And I felt almost "cool" when we walked off the beach, gear in hand and had cheers from all the beach goers - even a few snapped our pictures. It was a GREAT way to end a nearly perfect weekend (feel better Skymama). Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

1 (maybe 2):9:0 1 "bye bye" from my guy Friday AM...and then my first landing where I hit the ground, drop my rig and run across the field to check on a "down pal" ...Andrea, your shoe was near all your stuff - are you sure it isn't floating around your truck or stuck in a bag somewhere? Despite an early stuffy nose, some crazy howling winds on Saturday and NO WIND on Sunday - I made 9 SCHAWEET jumps including 1 kick ass beach jump....it was a FABULOUSO weekend Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well as people began rolling in earlier in the week, it was Friday when the big party really started. The Pink Mafia arrived, vendors rolled in and started setting up (Sunpath, PD, Mirage, Birdman, Tonysuits...did I forget any ?) and the skies were BALUUUUUUUE! Rotating between Skyvan and Otter, people were jumping, jumping, jumping and it was a damn good way to start the weekend. The band didn't show on Friday but the Tiki Bar was open and/or some ventured out to Hirams (and other fun places) making their own fun. Woke to BEAUTIFUL skies and got first load up before 9am (I think)...and yes I was on it since I could finally breath . Managed to get 4 loads up and were going to also start running both planes since we had the jumpers and a damn unexpected Florida storm rolled in and shut us down for a few hours - BUT everyone hung out and still had a great time together. Skies finally cleared and more jumps were made despite some winds. AND THEN THE PARTY BEGAN.........Pink Mafia represented after there day of initiations (and some later initiations of sorts that were priceless ), DJS were kicking to the wee hours, food was scrumptious and alcoholic delights were plentiful Woke Sunday to NO WIND and clear blue skies.....another great day of jumping wrapped up by some kick ass beach jumps. Big props to BendyWendy and everyone who helped her make this event at Sebastian a KICK ASS ONE for sure. Just another reason I love my home DZ. For those who missed it - DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN! Gonna wrap up this thread by saying BENDYWENDY and the whole crew at Sebas did a KICK ASS job with the boogie. The weather was ALMOST perfect but lots of nice relaxing jumps were made, including beach jumps. It was a great weekend and I just can't thank everyone enough for coming to play and for those that made it all happen. Now I will start a new post reiterating this in more details....... I don't know what we would all do without you ... I am trying not to jump the gun by saying much but I'm testing a new mix of "drugs" for this cold/stuffy head thingy I've got. With the new mix in my system just a few hours now, already my ear is unclogging and I can sorta breath out of that half of my nose .... How is the tent space looking? I need to claim my spot tomorrow if nothing else

Hi honey....I have heard this more than a few times in my life (people dating for money) and I don't get it. Personally I think you need to be happy with yourself in order to happily move forward in your life and hopefully in someone else's. MONEY does NOT buy happiness and eventually the novelty of "getting what you want" will wear off and THEN what is there. Can you just imagine how much more financially set (and perhaps peaceful) this WORLD would be if everyone could just take care of there damn selves? I think I've drifted off course..... but anyway...dating for money makes no sense and I don't care what anyone says - MONEY is NOT everything. I learned that this past year as I watched many of the pennies I've saved the last 15 years disappear - but as I looked in the mirror, I also saw the biggest brightest smile looking back at me. I'd rather miss a weekend of jumping (but I can still play with my pals on the ground) and have another great YEAR of skydiving ahead of me! OK so I have to ask - this is my first "illness" since I started skydiving last year and here is my dilemna: There is an event coming up at my DZ that I've been looking forward to for over a month now and Sunday I started getting a stuffy nose, which turned into a yucky headache which has progressed into a head cold (I THINK). Only half of my nose stays stuffed and I can't blow it yet it wants to run (walking around with a tissue stuck up it works nicely but not very attractive ) Seriously - I don't know if it is allergies or sinuses or a "bug" but just wondering what other people think about jumping. I don't feel crappy (unless I take Benadryl and then I want to sleep), just have half a stuffy nose. Should I attempt a jump and see how it goes? Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well crap in a hat! I thought yesterday I might be getting better but woke up again all congested, yet it sorta comes and goes depending on what I am doing. I'm not sure what is going to happen with me as far as jumping...tomorrow is the real test. Great weather, tons of people to jump with and lousy luck. Send healthy vibes please .... Hey girls (and whomever wants to plan a 4th of July gathering with us)...I just talked with my guy and he is off of work that weekend so I know WE need to start thinking about things if we are going to try and doing something at a reasonable cost.
