Who got pics of the new worldrecord in FF?
sunnydee123 replied to schwede's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm guessing pictures this "fresh" will have to be purchased. Those camera guys work damn hard to get "THE shot". I emailed Swanson to find out how to purchase it since Jason disappeared before I could talk to him. I got some great ones from Sisco but not the Record 42 way ........ Craig O'Brien also got some BAD ASS shots which he shared in the Bomb Shelter Saturday night. I need to track him down too Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... -
Actually...it's been 15 months Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

I am sure it will be in every and any skydiving type magazine as was the last record....but I'm sure eventually the picture will circulate here as well. Certain people deserve the proper credit (and cash associated with the honor) for being at the right place at the right time and until THEY release it....well, enough said It is one HELL of a picture though, I must say

Come on gang...you KNOW the 42 way picture is going to be on the next Parachutist. I was lucky though and got to see the video of it happening and the official picture afterwards. I still get goosebumps, seeing all those amazing flyers TOGETHER in the sky on their heads. There are no words to congratulate all who were involved properly. It was breathtaking, awe-inspiring and motivational beyond belief. One day...one day soon Looking at some of Sisco's pics as we speak but think it was Jason Peters who got the actual RECORD shot Base, Hot Pod, X Pod and I Pod..........YOU ALL ROCK! Well this trip to Perris will not soon be forgotten for many reasons. First off, I arrived Thursday when the first FF WR was set at 39....then the following day they updated it to 42. Words can't describe the vibe around the DZ ~ It was INTENSE and me, strictly as a supporter, I had goose bumps more times than I can count. Like for example when the entire RW team competition group walked over to the loading area simply to applaud the efforts of the FF gang - What an AWESOME gesture! Saturday you could almost see the look of relief when they announced the last attempt was being made. Hopes were high and spirits remained the same despite the record holding at 42. I can only IMAGINE the mental exhaustion all were feeling including my guy but it was inspiring to watch unravel for sure! Sunday was sorta MY day as I closed in on jump 500 . Greg was mentally and physically whooped but he and I made 499 together and then came the big jump....what would I do?! I decided to keep it simple but it was still a total RUSH for me when I had THREE, yes I said THREE World Record Holders play in the sky with me to celebrate. Took out a simple 4 way round with Greg Compton (Base), John Skinner (outside stinger) and the infamous Dave Brown. The jump itself went well but we all ended up on our feet but still had a BLAST. Got down, watched some cool video and was setting up to take a picture of the gang when it happened.............IN CAME THE PIE And I was pied by the best ~ Gillian Parker, Missy Nelson, Alli Richard and Roberta (from Italy). Good thing my day was over, with the temps reaching 105 cause my whip cream covered jumpsuit quickly began to take on a smell all of it's own Oh wait, did I mention I also spent my first two times in the tunnel with Joao? Yup - and it was pretty neat to try and figure out. A bit different body positioning than the air but great to understand how you can manipulate the air to do what you want it to . I'm gonna have to visit Orlando... So this trip to Perris is one that will not soon be forgotten. It was great to see so many great people in one place at one time. It was a GREAT long weekend in general and I want to thank everyone who made it special for me...especially Greg, the love of my life. Hugs to all....see you soon ~ Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Just wondering if anyone has heard of this event and/or if anyone was planning to attend this year? The dates are October 23 - 31 and I think it is somewhere near Queensland. I would LOOOOOVE to go to Australia! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Oh yippy ya whooo....does that mean your little footsy is feeling better and you are jumping again? That would be FABU-LOSO! I have been doing so good, if I could pat myself on the back I would and the weekend before I am in Deland I've got something special lined up so I'll be working hard on my head. Pretty soon I'LL be able to play with a HANDFUL of headdowners See you soon Andrea. I'm heading out the door on my way to Perris Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

I'm thinking this year is going to be different Bet they will beat the record on the first day and then continue to build bigger and better throughout the weekend (I had dreams about 33 last night....hmmm) Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

You know Greg and I will be there.....sure wish Katie could call out sick though, so I could have someone to play on my head with Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

ummm.........yes! Never mind, I checked the freeflymegacenter.com and got the dates. DAMN IT, I get out there the night after the first day ....but that leaves the rest of the weekend to build bigger and better formations. Oh for the day when I can look forward to such a thing Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Can someone please refresh my memory as to the DAY they start shooting for the actual record? Is it Friday? Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

I'd LOVE to find out more about this boogie but all the damn pop ups that consume my screen are enough to drive ya crazy I've been trying to decide if we take a bunch of little holidays or one big one - this SEEMS like it would be amazing. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well my guy has really pushed me to do solos. He has been a HUGE learning curve boost for me but gives me a handful of jumps and then tells me to go practice. Seriously, I can't say enough about them. Then you can ask someone to make a jump with you and get some more feedback. I did a jump with a pal this past weekend and was able to break grips, stay in his face, went for a dock, backslid a bit then got back to him....I was all smiles. So keep on doing what you are doing, and keep the ears open cause there is all sorts of info floating around when ya least expect it You should come to FL and we could train together Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Chrissy I am still on the newbie side of things (got about 120 HD jumps under my belt now) but from my experience, I don't think baggy pants will help much. They would almost be a crutch and that is not what you want. You have to learn to feel that pressure and push against it without tensing up much. There is SO much to it, I also have been frustrated but am happy with each new piece that clicks into place. Headdown is all about the legs..LEGS, LEGS, LEGS...and although I thought I had that part under my hat, now that I have the whole "relax" the shoulders/arms thing going on finally, I realize how much work I still need with my legs. They are your steering wheel, your acceleration, your brakes. I too am a bit smaller and have very little drag on my suit but it has served it's purpose for me so don't be so concerned about that (in my humble opinion). I know not many of us have tons of cash to spend on coaching, but if you can get a few jumps with a coach, they are very helpful...then you can go do your homework for a handful of jumps and try to grasp all you were told. A very good friend told me that solos are a good thing so sometimes with a puss on my face, I would go make my solo jumps and then come down all excited if something clicked. It's also great to have another good flier with you, who can get out of your way since you are moving around (know all about that ) and also be that refernce point for you. FYI, for solos I make sure to ask for separation or even get out last just so I knew the air is all mine and I can FOCUS. Always safety first - we are hauling ass at this point OK, before I babble on forever, just don't get frustrated and know good things don't just happen over night. Personally I think HD has got to be one of the hardest disciplines to learn so take your time and make sure to find the fun in each jump. What I am doing right now is I am going out and acting like a total goof ball with my arms, so I am forcing my legs to fly no matter what the rest of me is doing....boxing, praying, disco dancing...you name it. I hope I said this correctly but I am just sharing all I've been told along the way, so far. Good luck girl! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Milestone jump ~ what to do........
sunnydee123 replied to sunnydee123's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Happy Hour jumps?.......................I'd be willling to jump on that deal for sure. Florida to California ain't a cheap trip PLUS I've been saying if I come back out to Perris I want to WITHOUT A DOUBT jump at 'Snore, cause it just seemed like such a great little place. @ Vanilla....if you saw J on vid you might have seen my guy too since I believe he is J's cross partner in the base . I hear things are building very nicely out there. Think I heard the #30 mentioned too . I can't wait to get out there and just absord some of the vibe. As for Pie, I won't hold my breath since I'll be so far from home and not known by many, but if I get some, I hope it's at least caught on video Not much longer...see ya soon Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... -
Oh man...no pictures of the "newer guys" on the tour....but the "old timers" pull out some SICK maneuvers. DAYUM! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Milestone jump ~ what to do........
sunnydee123 replied to sunnydee123's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So what do you do, when a milestone jump approaches, you are going to be away from your home DZ but at another really great place with LOTS of great skydivers and yet you doubt any of them would be able to be part of it with you? What would you do..................... I'm heading out to Perris to watch and support the folks who are part of the Big Way Record attempt this weekend and am very excited about it. If the weather cooperates, I'm sure 13 jumps won't be difficult to do in 3 days which will put me at the big #500. Of course, I'd love to do something really great with some of my favorite pals (and get video ) but what if everyone is busy with more important stuff? Does anyone other than the person celebrating it consider milestones a big deal? Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... -
Well NOW I know what the problem was, I didn't KNOW what it was to relax. Figured that out this weekend with an awesome handful of solos....and I even went up and acted like a total cheese ball with arms flailing about, forcing myself to fly the legs. Isn't it just too funny when the pieces start clicking?! Now I just need to work a little harder on leg adjustments so I can maintain a decent speed Don't think 174 counts as "decent" but at least it is all coming together. Thanks for all the tips gang~ Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Heck yeah it did! And that pond was the reason we drove almost 3 hours to come play and then another hour just to try and find a hotel somewhere Friday night Hope the winds are nice and calm in Perris today and all the boys kick ass...especially mine! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
