    Then just tune them out, and decide for yourself if you want another 4 years of someone who appears to be so stupid that even 10 year olds know better, at the highest position in the country. If you think that the media is biased against Trump - if so, cut out the middleman! Just follow his Twitter feed, unfiltered and unedited by any media. He can make a complete fool of himself with no assistance at all from the media. Seriously, do it - stop listening to the news and just look at his Twitter. Straight from the man himself.

    Well to me it sounded like he was instructing labs to research using disinfectants or UV internally. This is like a whuffo asking PD to investigate using nets to make canopies because Luke Aikins used one in his stunt. It's a waste of valuable lab time, extremely stupid and would get people killed if they tried it. Would you rather have labs researching this very stupid suggestion, or working on actual treatments or vaccines?

    Nobody has done more to weaken the US than Trump. From handing China a trade win by abolishing the TPP, trusting Putin over the US intelligence services, alienating allies like the EU and Canada, then becoming himself a laughingstock of the world by suggesting that people inject or inhale disinfectant or bring UV light inside the body. It's sad. I don't want China to become the world superpower, but that's what you get when the US is led by a narcissistic toddler.

    Islam is frequently criticised for its treatment of women and the LGBT community. Conservatives angrily attack the left for trying to push for closing the pay gap, defend Trump's treatment of women, and also vehemently oppose the LGBT movement for greater inclusivity. I'm all for opposing all kinds of religion, but when a conservative starts criticising Islam I find it ironic that they have more in common than they would like to admit.

    I really don't get right-wingers' obsession with this and Islam. FGM is *not* an islamic thing, it's an african tradition. Yes sometimes there are african muslims. Yes it is bad. But please stop confusing the two.

    In any case, no matter what Trump's intentions were, asking scientists to investigate these is a dangerous waste of time. Research time and funding is a precious resource that needs to be allocated carefully. More so in the middle of a pandemic!

UV light disinfectant boiling water ethylene oxide highly concentrated sulfuric acid highly concentrated nitric acid aqua regia just cook the patient, simmer for 30 minutes I'm pretty sure all of them would get rid of it

    boiling water or superheated steam is pretty good for sterilizing surgical instruments... As for DNA destruction, how about tanks of Radon gas - it gets into a patient's lungs - emitting alpha particles though, not UV - then kills lung cells with the virus (plus everything else). OR just get patients to breathe superheated steam direct from an autoclave

    Some people actually spend entire careers evaluating effects of the entire electromagnetic spectrum on human tissue. UV is just a small part of this. So in a way, the answer is yes. But not lung tissue specifically.

    They didn't test poisons on cancer patients at random, they knew HOW it worked and how cancer worked before even attempting it on animals, and on humans. Cancer cells divide quickly and out of control, which is how cancers spread. Normal cells divide too, but slower. Chemotherapy stops this cell division, slowing or stopping the spread of cancer. It does NOT kill cancer - it just stops it growing so another therapy, surgery, radiation, or the person's immune system can get rid of it. UV rips DNA apart.

    Chemotherapy attacks mechanisms that regulate cell division. There is no doubt that chemotherapy is excruciating and painful. But it's still not as deadly as UV. Cells that can't divide are still alive, UV kills everything. UV (specifically, UV-C which is used in the sterilizers, 280nm or below wavelength) rips apart DNA and RNA strands. The mechanism is well known - the photon energy given by Planck's equation e = h*v is higher than the bond energy between DNA and RNA nucleotides, therefore they break it. When the DNA damage is higher than the ability of the cell to repair it, the cell undergoes apoptosis, or cell death. Even UV-B can induce apoptosis and it's the main reason your skin peels after you get sunburned.

    No they would not be tested as that would kill people. No, these as well will not be tested, and please don't be interested in seeing people die. UV light on unprotected human tissue cases severe burns and cell death. Those who survive will have a highly increased risk of cancer. UV is used to disinfect water because it is very damaging to DNA and RNA which bacteria and viruses have. If you take something that destroys DNA it's not very good for you. If you take it at low enough dose it might be okay, but then it wouldn't have any effect on the coronavirus.

    Well given how competitive Trump is, I think he will want to be the "best" at being the worst He seemed to think nobody had thought of that idea before. UV light on any other tissue than the skin can cause severe burns and radiation sickness. Disinfectants are extremely toxic taken internally. The discovery of antibiotics at the turn of the 20th century was so revolutionary because they could kill bacteria without killing human cells. People knew how to kill germs WAY before antibiotics arrived. Just not when they're inside the body. I don't know much about Biden. Even if Biden was entirely frozen in ice for the 4 years of his term, the fact that he wasn't spouting stupid things endlessly would actually improve America's international reputation, just because he's NOT Trump. Foreign countries have now equated Trump to causing the US to be unreliable in trade, immigration and foreign policy.

    I got a doctor friend inform me that the Covid-19 vaccine clinical trial by the University of Oxford was starting here in the UK, but when I went to the website to apply, unfortunately my postcode wasn't in the small list they wanted volunteers from I also thought GWB was rather stupid. Next to 45 he looks like an absolute genius...
