I think there are a ton of variables that go into such a calculation, with a major contributor being your age. 10-15% sounds about right to me, but that's with only the scant info you've provided and I'm admittedly no expert. THe fact that you're even thinking about such a thing means you're on the right path, I'd suspect.

Think that if it makes you feel better...I think things because theyare correct. You have presented no data to conclusively back your assertions. Kind of like when you try and discuss the budget. When you deal with someone who is familiar with it, you really have to back up what you say. You have failed to do so. Utterly. I've recommended you read the budget on numerous occasions - I doubt you'll do so now, but I recommend it nonetheless. Your assertions about the reasons people join the military really don't comport with reality. You really should speak with current enlistees or hang out with recruiters for a bit if you're going to be making such assertions. Ganz im gegenteil, mein Herr. I'd wager the political break-down of intellect in the US is about evenly split. The US education system is in horrendous shape, with neither party having the will to take the necessary steps to fix it. THe left is beholden to the NEA - the NEA itself being a major part of the problem - and the right does not want to spend the $$ or the political capital to stand up the the NEA because education is not an issue that gets people fired up enough to migrate to the polls en masse on election day. After you read the budget - or at least skim it - and CBO projections on future budgets, you might also want to spend some time with some military recruiters, since you tend to post about such things with some regularity. Yes. I think NASA has a sight where you can do the basic calcs yourself. Shoot me a line if you need some help. Google NASA and terminal velocity and see if you get anything. If you've had a basic physics class you should be able to grasp what's presented and maybe even derive some of it yourself.
