Read your WWII history a bit dude. Focus on Bataan and Nanking for starters, then read a bit about the island hopping in the Pacific in WWII. Tarawa might be a good place to start your search in that arena. I beg to differ. Protection is not a bullshyte answer. Several of my friends who are women who live in cities have handguns and concealed carry permits. Smaller folk need handguns for protection against larger hooligans on occasion - not just gun toting hooligans either. It is a good observation in some respects, but certainly not for gun control. A certain segment of the population here in the United States is scared and angry.
