  1. Reagan? An imbecile? After the onset of Alzheimer's perhaps one might malign him so, but not with any class... Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  2. Very cute Kallend. Do you REALLY think sKerry is capable of doing better? Let's see: deficit - nope. sKerry and his ilk desire a nationalized (socialized) health care program. All those who want such have NO credibility when talking about deficits. job creation - government jobs perhaps. According to sKerry corporations don't pay their 'fair share' of taxes. Hard to cut corporate profits via tax code revisions and create jobs. Iraq - do you REALLY want me to quote The Poodle's prior opinions on this issue yet again agreeing with the conservatives several times over? 3. Really? Now how would you make that connection, exactly? This has GOTTA be good.... Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  4. Interesting article. Boortz references him today in his notes.
  5. I hear vet school is really tough...forget from whom...that sounds cool though. I think you'd be a good vet! The school would be fun as well. I'd follow my dreams if I were you...
  6. A low opinion of LA TIMES and its devotees perhaps... Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  7. Not the focus of my post at all, but.... Not with SS and the looming grey dawn. That was either a lie or a statement by a very ignorant man. A combination of both I'd say. Intel is never accurate, as we've seen. Haven't heard that one. Need the context of this one. Wishful thinking by whoever said this one. 8. I went back to school after 7 years away...a couple of Vinny thoughts: 1) you get a lot more out of school when you're older, because you're more mature (yes, I know, chicks mature faster than we guys) 2) studying again sux. the grass is always greener on the other side. you'll enjoy it for a bit then complain about studying long hours at nite. 3) the value of a bachelor's degree has been slowly diluted over time. A graduate degree still means something. Random thoughts from Vinny the Anvil
  9. Bah! Another frivolous lawsuit! If they sue ANY tequila manufacturer, TheAnvil is declaring war! Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  10. ...article from Ann Coulter. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/anncoulter/ac20040513.shtml
  11. Dude - chill. BillVon is a nice guy, even if he does delete/edit my posts for reasons known only to himself on occasion. GravityGirl is a cool chick too. I agree with you on a lot of things, truth be told, but the tenor of your posts in this thread is really combative and offensive. Passively insulting somebody's DZ.com handle just isn't cool. Apologize to Bill and Bonnie and let's have some fun sending the lefties into convulsions by making them face facts. They should hold their heads in shame for selectively ignoring facts as they do - but that's no reason to purposefully try and hurt somebody's feelings as you seem to be doing. 12. Now that's funny. Incorrect, but funny. Managerially inept buffoons around the globe calling for Rumsfeld's resignation probably soiled themselves when they heard Bush's speech praising the man. Bush's message: Just because you're a bunch of partisan, managerially inept, loudmouthed buffoons doesn't mean I'm going to let you affect the way I run things. I liked the speech - sorry you didn't.
  13. I arrived on-site at 3ish this morning for a project I'm working on up here in VA. Just got back from dinner and didn't see your post until just now. A bit tired, so please ignore any mis-spellings or grammatical faux pas. I don't normally read the Army Times - nor the Navy times or AF times - as they are considered akin to the national enquirer by most service members I know. Sometimes they produce good work, sometimes not - this being a fine example of the latter. The article's author obviously has a problem with Rumsfeld and senior leadership then goes about in a rambling sort of manner, throwing factual tid-bits out with no real underlying structure or logic. Not impressed with its author or his/her conclusions. I'd be disappointed if the one-star's letter of admonishment is the harshest penalty received by any officer. I think there need to be some lieutenants and possibly captains court martialed, but that's only me going off of what I've seen/heard through the media. Bush's speech praising Rumsfeld was both needed AND a masterful political counterstroke to the left's recent attacks. Truly enjoyed reading about it. Sorry if my absence worried anyone. I've been pre-occupied with work as of late. Beers to all, a very tired but smiling
  14. It matters for reasons of comparison as cited by yourself. He did accept responsibility, but the guilt lies with the offenders themselves. There is no right wing flip-flop here. As you stated, Rumsfeld should remain. I stand by my assertions as to the true reason for the hullaballoo from the left. 15. KICKASS Roy! I'm jealous. All of thos pics Deuce posted make me very very homesick for California, despite my kickass skydiving weekend here visiting in VA. Congrats on that 1000th! Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  16. My truffle machinations did not come to fruition...but I shall not fail a second time, and the die is cast for me to return to VA during the first week of June... I'd planned to make them at a friend's house on Friday evening but ended up getting there four hours late due a succession of traffic jams. Hmm...come to think of it, I think I DO owe some more people some truffles. I've promised a truffle-spin-off to skymama that I tried out a couple of weeks ago - chocolate shortbread with a raspberry mousse topping. Who has had my truffles? Hmm...AlliCali has had my truffles...SkyOCiel...I forget if Pop and Sebazz had any of them on our Canadian excusion...NoShitThereIWas had some of my truffles too...and I think ChopChop might have partaken, but don't recall. Dammit. I should make truffles more often. Most of my friends haven't even had them. I made them for a friend's birthday at work and got rave reviews, then perfected the recipe after that. The extra/different chocolates gives them a unique blend and texture. Plus nobody ever guesses my base ingredient...hehehehehehehe. Sorry, MissKriss...I told Paige of my evil [sic] plan prior to getting stuck in traffic. You'll have to wait...unless you can twist my arm to get my sekrit recipe... 17. Perhaps I'm out of touch (haven't been reading a lot over the past week) but I'm not familiar with the whore attack of which you're speaking. (I'm not being sarcastic; please send me a link or something) Please enlighten me as to exactly when Rumsfeld personally witnessed his fellow soldiers committing atrocities against Iraqi's (or folks from any nation for that matter). That's what John Kerry stated he saw his fellow soldiers doing in Vietnam. Odd comparison you've brought up. I think it untenable by any standard of logic. As for Kerry's war record, he's made it the center point of his campaign. His offer to the leader of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth shows just what a poor choice that was for him to do so. Add in there his VVAW activities and speeches, and you have a pretty piss poor campaign open to many, many legitimate attacks. His ilk chose to attack Bush's guard service and are now screaming at being attacked themselves on far more legitimate grounds. I find this most amusing. If you think Rumsfeld's removal at this point in time is a good thing for the nation from a managerial standpoint, please justify this removal of a large city's school superintendent under this scenario: A school teacher (1/35,000 let's say) openly teaches that evolution has no basis in fact, and the city schools are sued for it. The Superintendent's resignation is demanded. Please justify the Superintendent's removal. If you can do so, you've a tenable argument for Rumsfeld's resignation. If you can't, well, you should go back to the drawing board.
  18. I'm hoping for a Rice/J.C. Watts candidacy myself, just to see $harpton and Je$$e Jack$on spontaneously combust. McCain will be a bit old...perhaps a governor....dunno. TheAnvil will be old enough in '08....but nobody would vote for a JACKASS. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

  20. Ahhh...so now Mr. Rumsfeld is a general, eh? Perhaps you missed this, but Mr. Rumsfeld is the Secretary of Defense. He has Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force (the Marine Corps is part of the Navy department for those who failed civics) working for him, and several levels of flag officers (perhaps some SES as well) in between himself and the commanding general overseeing any/all of these prisons. Below any such flag officer will be Colonels, majors, captains and lieutenants (my apologies to Navy folk; nobody understands Navy ranks anyway) for an officer corps and then non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel below them. In case anyone hasn't heard, there weren't any pics of flag officers in those photos. Don't think there were any colonels or majors either. SecAF, SecNav, SecArmy weren't in any of them either. I'm finding your general's analogy a bit flaky from a logical standpoint, to say the least. Another thorn in the side of such an argument would be that the entire Army DIDN'T embarrass the nation. Nor did a division. Nor did a batallion. Or even a company. It was a select few dumb-fucks who embarassed the U.S. - though they did so handily. The calls for Rumsfeld's resignation have but one purpose - to weaken President Bush politically. There's more than enough ammo with which to attack Mr. Bush politically. By taking such a tactic as calling for Rumsfeld's resignation the left is once again showing us why they are unfit to lead the nation. Given their track record over the past decade, it's what I've come to expect from them. Beers to all, Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  21. Feeble? I think not, even by itself, but think that if it makes you feel better. You've poked no hole in either my own argument or Catholic catechism. When incorporated into my own argument, which holds that personal vengeance is against the teachings of Christ but that the death penalty as carried out by a government is perfectly legitimate, the Ananias/Sapphira argument fits in quite nicely. There are several verses in Matthew 5-7 that show the personal vengeance facet of my argument - to which one were you referring?
