    It's the altitude and not the climbing that makes the ascent difficult on most routes, though there are some routes that are extremely difficult. Some of the enviro arguments make sense - others don't. Greenland has been full of pastures and etc before - perhaps it shall be again.     Dude, you've got to do what is right for YOU. If you don't miss skydiving but enjoy it when you do it, then cut back on the frequency. Do a jump or two a month for a bit - KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OF THOSE FRONT RISERS AND PRACTICE FLAT TURNS HIGH UP WHEN YOU ARE UNDER CANOPY!!!!!!!! - to stay current and see your skydiving friends. That way if the urge hits you, it's there for you and you won't have to do a refresher course. I wouldn't totally throw it by the wayside because you've already put some time and $$ into it. My US$0.02.

    So an organization should be able to force people into its membership under threat of losing their job, take their money in the name of collective bargaining, and use that money to support political causes that they themselves do not support?     I don't like filibustering judicial nominees at all, though I do support the filibuster concept. The Constitution does not call out a super-majority requirement for the advising and consenting of judicial nominees, as it clearly does elsewhere. I also don't like the Republicans caving in to the threat of a filibuster. Make the losers get up there and actually filibuster and keep the senate in session until a floor vote comes. Televise the filibuster in progress. Show the Dem's making buffoons out of themselves. Make them follow through on their threat. They can't even tell America what they support - what makes ANYONE think they'll have the guts to actually follow through?
