How did you get to this? Not judging here, but are you a Braden guy/paratrooper type for Cooper?
-
“It’s not satisfactory for me”. What a joke. Who cares what is satisfactory for you? Like you are some court or jury or something. There may very well be more researchers who do not participate than those who do. Some of the better ones rarely comment. Fly and anyone don’t owe any of you guys a thing. If anyone wants to keep their info close, then so be it. Ryan is saving info for a book. Fly is saving info for his reasons. We all do. The Vortex is full of loud mouths and information thieves. Gossipers too. Fly is more successful on a sick day than Nicky has been his whole life. Fly, you must have struck a nerve with Nicky. He’s trying to push you out. Best to just ignore him.
-
What is the value of him going on Darren’s podcast? Darren is a good guy, but it’s not like the podcast is Joe Rogan or something. Fly is a prolific poster and there is way more of his thinking on here than most. Anyone interested in what he thinks can just look here. For as much activity that goes on here, there is not a strong correlation with how the outside world sees Cooper. They think it’s McCoy or Loki or Rackstraw. Or Charles Westmoreland. Fly going on a show just for Cooperites will only be heard by Cooperites. If he has good info then it’s better that he holds it and delivers it outside the Vortex and not feel the need to get some blessing from people in the Vortex. Rick McCoy. Tom Colbert. R99. Jo Weber. Plenty of people have not been on that podcast. I got a text today from someone asking me about the new FBI files released. Like it was some big deal. I had to explain the real story. But that’s what the general public sees. Nicky pushing someone to come out more in public is a joke.
-
Nicky is usually doing someone else’s bidding or trying to ingratiate himself to someone else. Eddie Haskell. That’s probably what is going on, they want you on a podcast or at CooperCon. Try to make it look like they really care. You were on CNN. You found two awesome guitars. Nicky won’t be on TV unless it’s the Cheech and Chong hour. Most of us want you to stay. Very few people push back on the treehouse group. Facebook has become a John L. Skip Hall page now. Both Ryan’s and Eric’s. They want you to leave so they can have free rein. I’d write more but I’m still working this BOLO for a guy with a firearm who used his James Bond clearance to get medical records.

Some melodrama. This was off one of Eric’s post about the First Amendment. The replies came from some true American heroes. Here’s one. William Smith’s daughter and her Facebook friends like Lisa B, neither of whom add anything to the case except drama. They support the First Amendment as long as it’s not me using it. Like I’m Ted Bundy or something. :). Gotta laugh. Lisa wants to out me, like I’m some unknown mysterious person. Drama. Complaining. Exaggerating. Attention seeking. No one knows or cares about a guy named Smith whose family names are all different now. But if it makes her feel better to post, have at it. Forgot to add. Nicky make sure you screen shot and send this to her. You having such good character according to Mark M.

My theory. And everyone has theories. So take it with a grain of salt. I think he’s getting up the courage to jump and also waiting for some sign of civilization that is not the wilderness.
-
How many cigs to a pack? Would he need to buy more cigs? Would he buy those from a machine or a seller at the airport? Would he carry extra packs of cigs? Seems to me he would want to stay pretty concealed. I’d be curious to see pics of any cigarette machines or vendors.
-
I didn’t see the Gates show. Sounds like I didn’t miss anything. I did see a lot of hits on my site though, so I guess a rising tide lifts all boats.
-
The comments. Does Eric need Ryan’s approval on this?
-
Some commentary on lawyers in the courtroom. My favorite is "Defense attorneys have no obligation to present the truth and I continuously see officers shocked when they learn this firsthand in court" Ryan is certainly not obligated to tell the truth in the Cooper case. Or just Google defense attorney dirty tricks https://www.police1.com/legal/articles/5-ways-defense-attorneys-try-to-trip-up-cops-and-how-to-beat-them-xfyoa4RMUotvU8GV/ https://calibrepress.com/2021/10/recognizing-and-controlling-courtroom-tricks/

Ryan's video, first impressions. Ryan is a sneaky lawyer who sees Fly and I as witnesses to discredit to win his case. He continues to try and discredit us by saying we are biased towards suspects, and therefore can't possibly have case knowledge. Because we are biased, we can't possibly understand why the A sketch is not the best, even though Ryan and many others used the B sketch for years. He may even claim Charlie Farrell acknowledges he made a mistake, but as usual, Ryan will never tell the whole story. He will follow with theatrics, histrionics, and gaslighting. You can't win with Ryan. If you stick to your conclusions, then he says you are bad for not changing. He's just like EU now, changing everytime he feels like it and admoishing you for not getting on the train. His agenda is his ego and need for approval. He is now calling me Anonymous, or following suit when a few others do. That was years ago, call me Dave. I know you like to use it as a dig and Smith's daughter tries to get sympathy for it, but plenty of people knew who I was and plenty know who I am now. I went to CooperCon to meet Bill Mitchell, and then to meet Larry, it did not make sense to introduce myself to people as Anonymous. Besides, anyone of importance knew who I was, to include the Army. Very childish on your part. Honestly, you have some real clowns on that chat. Mary J is one of them. Elisabeth T?? Get some decent people. No wonder most of the world does not take this group seriously. Half that group just does not like me calling them out, or they circle the wagons around Smith's daughter, because as she stated, she called "EVERYONE" Doug Perry thinks Cooper died. Martin thinks no one has named him. Bruce thinks he's MACV SOG. None of us agree on suspects. So saying someone does not think someone else is a suspect means nothing. There were a few on there who were good. The Jays actually have some good input, I'll have to follow them some more. Ian and Randy seemed to have some good input. Some others asked good questions. But your fan club just sits and parrots what you say. KK51 did not have sunglasses. You always like to discount that one. Flo picked it out. Mitchell had no input into A, nor did the other witnesses, except Flo and Alice. You leave all that out. Homely, ugly, not handsome, etc. Those are tough metrics to quantify. Beauty is the eye of the beholder. You're taking a pic of Burnworth, saying he's handsomer than Cooper, then trying to tie Smith into that. You're in your 40s and you are commenting on how a guy like Smith looked to young stews in 1971? If Smith's daughter thought he was handsome, then great. You love quoting your matrix, it becomes an appeal to authority. Have some stones and publish the whole thing on all the pages and then let people comment on if they think those are good categories. You know you use it to get points, it is a common argument technique. "Oh, matrix, that sounds important" like when EU says "it's science" I don't think you're a POS, I reserve that for worse offenders. I just think you can't tell the truth and you purposely mislead people. I think there are enough people in the Vortex who see this. His accent. If Cooper whispered to Tina, how would she know what his accent was. Maybe Smith had a bad New Jersey accent, we don't know, but you claim NJ has a bad one. Newsflash, not everyone there sounds like Joe Pesci. Smith was fairly refined compared to his peers. Besides, Tina was from not far from there anyhow, so in my mind she would have just heard her normal type accent she was used to hearing, like for me when I hear Northeast accents. If someone is from the deep south, I can pick it out quickly, but the Northeast, not so much. The fact is you don't know how it went on the plane. Drew D. seems like a decent guy, but he seems to follow you pretty blindly. He claims B is a cut and paste of KK51, as you often do to establish legitimacy for your claims. By saying B is just KK51 adjusted, you try to muddy the waters and discount KK51, because it totally negates your theory. So if I put long blonde hair on KK51 then it is still just KK51? Or bigger ears? Your argument is absurd, it is a different photo, once you start modifying it, it is different, whether you started from KK51 or scratch. Like baking a cake, we can all decorate it differently. Nicky made an absurd claim that because Smith was union he would not have done something to his fellow union members/workers. Nicky just does not have the capacity for these things. But I do love when he comments, because he constantly contradicts himself. Unions hate management. Railroaders were pissed in 1968 into the 1970s, and even before that. I have many testimonials as to what they thought of management. Smith or not, if someone was union, this would have been a perfect way to say F you to management. Finally, unless I go back and really look at the details. You have it out for Fly for sure. You keep joking about him calling you a liar, in the hopes of diluting it, or you try to downplay it and say it is a white lie or a mistake. The fact is that you are dishonest. You claim I have been biased since two weeks in when I found Smith. False, it was not two weeks. I followed the case before that, and even when I jumped in it was more than two weeks. You want to claim that is only Fly and myself who think your A theory is off, and it is because we have suspects. You either know you are full of it, or you have some other issue, or you are flat out lying. That is your way of arguing, trying to downplay our case knowledge and intelligence. I'm confident of my ability to obtain, analyze, and retain knowledge. I learn quickly. So go ahead and keep badmouthing us and making up false claims. You're the one who has bounced suspect to suspect, but Fly and I who continue to research one suspect are biased?? You go out of your way to attack Fly and myself. It used to be just Fly because he disagreed with you, but then it was me when I called BS on Vordahl. I've seen you operate over and over again over a period of years. You get upset when challenged. You lash out. It would be nice for you to tell the truth. Maybe you don't care when you have Nicky and Mary and other fans telling you it is ok. Maybe someday we will see some other people question your theories. Unfortunately, most of the people willing and able to have left.

Ryan, I am not going to ban you from Reddit. You provide good info most of the time. If we want facts, then I usually expect you and Fly to reply here or on Reddit. You seem to have a lot of time and are able to do this, whereas there are others with the knowledge, but not time or access to the files all the time. I simply don't have my OCRs handy most of the time. What I will do though is call you a liar here on DZ, maybe it is a different type of lie than Fly is referring to, but you still lie. Has anyone told you have integrity issues? You just can't tell the truth. You lie by omission and use other techniques. Maybe I'll just note that when you do it on Reddit. Let you post when its factual and complete, then put a disclaimer on it when its not or just delete the comments. Or we can start all your posts with "This is my opinion" You have a very complicated relationship with the truth. I'll comment on your video here when I can. I usually only see Reddit on my phone. Plus, it is probably not a good optic when a Mod and top 1 percent poster start discussing integrity and lies and all, but I can if you want. As a criminal defense attorney you probably get away with not telling the truth, no team to call you out, no employees, no teammates, no boss, no family, etc. It is just not how most people roll. I look at you as having a lot of case knowlege, and that should be shared, but you just can't tell the truth, so anything I can do to call attention to that in this case, I will do that. It is pretty simple actually, I just have to ask a few questions here and there to uncover that you never seem to tell the whole story.
-
These AI images definitely are polluting the case. We have enough trouble with all the other sketches and deciphering witness statements.
-
There was a stretch there where FOIAs were taking a long time. I'm actually impressed that you have gotten as much as you have out of your requests not being a US citizen. You've gotten way better results than I have or many others. Ryan and crew like to attack you for holding onto your information. I learned my lessons and keep my cards close. I can vouch 100% that I've seen some of Fly's research, to include FBI- files, sketches, and pictures, and other info. In many cases I would like to use it, but can't. And I know that is just a fraction of what Fly has. Bottom line is that he does not owe anything to anyone. No matter what he publishes on the case, regardless of it is related to Hahneman, the social club will cut it down, all the while blindly accepting what Ryan says and then parroting it. Can you imagine if Bruce Smith claimed consensus on all the things Ryan has? Or if Bruce purposely warped the truth? There are posters on Reddit practically repeating word for word what Ryan says on other pages. Luckily EU and Gryder have big followings too, so at least the false info is diluted.
-
Someone on Reddit claimed Ryan does use the scientific method. Laywer trick. Appeal to authority, in this case the authority is the term consensus. Like referencing the supsect matrix that no one has seen yet in its full form. I believe I've heard this "consensus" comment claiming consensus on the A sketch, the thin nose, the triangle head, Gunther made it up, Gunther got hoaxed, Hall is the best suspect. I've lost track of all the consensuses.

As usual I need to translate this for people. You insinute that this is a collaboration. It is not. Fly has been calling you a liar for a while, I have bit my tongue. I called you sneaky over text two years ago, and felt a little bad about it, but it was true then and is now. I've just gotten to the point where your antics require someone more than just Flyjack to call out. It's easy to make him look like the boogeyman when it is just him. This isn't you and Cunningham or your other buddies. Fly and I like eachother, but literally have never met and I have only spoken to him once, and it was about the US government process and not DB Cooper. You keep using supsects as your proxy. You went after Hahneman, then Smith, you have an issue with McCoy, and even had issues with Lisa when she was discussing Reca. Suspects come and go, none of them last. I don't push Smith, but I do defend things when you say ridiculous things like he can't be Cooper because his 6 year old daughter waited up at night to see headlights. Same for Hahneman, Fly does not push him, he mainly just corrects the record. You love suspects for some reason. You like putting them down and you like building certain ones up. I'm saying what the FBI says and a whole lot of other people say, that B is the more accepted sketch. It does not even fit Smith's nose, his is bigger, at least in some pics. However, A is too weird, no one has that nose except people who have had work done. You also make sure to push certain suspects like Hall, while not critiquing other suspects that probably need critiquing. Who is everyone? Nicky who used B sketch? The Braden group who uses B, the Recca group, Rackstraw, etc? As far as I remember, it has mostly been EU pushing for A to try and pass off Sheridan as Cooper. And agenda does not need to be profitable or even nefarious. I told you I think you are very deep into this case. I think you overthink it and think it about too much. EU was the same way, and I realized after being around him that that was all he thought about and talked about. He was always looking for some new angle that probably did not exist. Like looking at an art piece or a poem trying to find some hidden meaning. I think you love the case, I think you want to be heard, and I think you want to control the narrative. You also seem to like the pseudo camraderie you get from it. Again, sneaky lawyer tricks. Focus on a suspect, make it seem like without a suspect then the B sketch would be moot. The last time I thought A was the right sketch was in 1987, long before Smith. You continue to withold information about the sketches. None of them are pictures. If they were, then we'd have found Cooper. I don't think everyone agrees with you on A, they just don't say it. Just like the morality police decided you have to use POI and not suspect, and you can't name suspects who were not investigated by the FBI, this is the same thing. You've now made it that someone has to tie Cooper to the A sketch and have a movie star thin nose. This is the Western Flight Path. Talk about it enough and people believe it. I don't even remember you using the term ethnic, at least not with me. Must have been on Facebook. You're not the one who invented that. The 302s have Latin, swarthy, olive, etc. To me that means ethnic, I just don't use the term. I've been clear for years that there are plenty of areas of Europe that have these types of individuals. You and Nicky tried to claim Sweeden is home to many of them. Again, you want people to think that we disagree with you because we are pushing suspects. We did not invent the B sketch. I disagree with your approach. The changing of suspects, the treehouse club, you claiming your views are right, withholding info. You would love for DZ to go away, you've got people convinced that this place is just Fly and I badmouthing you. The fact is that you go unchecked, and this is the only place to check you. I would be fine to never comment on Reddit. I don't care for Eric's or Gryder's methods, but if they bring publicity to the case then I'll post it on Reddit. You'll notice that I rarely answer questions, I usually just post, except when you or your fan club get on there and don't tell the whole story or when I see accounts pop up out of nowhere who only comment when it comes to Smith, or Fly, or Blevins, or to promote Vordahl. I don't know if I would call you a liar, even though you have told some mistruths, but I definitely say you lie by omission and try to play to an audience by using logical fallacies and other methods. We need to bring back Bruce Smith and have someone just lay out the facts. You certainly are not doing it.
-
It’s an integrity issue at this point. Ryan’s input in the case is important, but it’s becoming an issue. Bruce would never have tried to sway the narrative so much, even though he liked MACV SOG for the hijacking. He’s going to need to take a break from Reddit at some point. Many of the users there are new or have minimal knowledge and can be swayed, especially by someone like Ryan. Even Cunningham isn’t banned from there, as abrasive as he is. In fact, Nicky is the only well known person banned. Most if not all of the bans on there are trolls and people trying to sneak around. Even a temporary ban is not something the mods want to do with Ryan, but this is getting ridiculous. All he has to to is lay out the facts and not start off with “Flyjack and Dave are biased” Maybe lawyers don’t think there are integrity issues doing things the way Ryan does, but I do.
-
Perfectly said. He has a lot of case knowledge but is a conditioned defense attorney.
-
Very good points about getting max views. There are other engagement metrics too that need to be considered. I liked Anthony’s YouTubes on Cooper. He kept them short, usually below 20 minutes. His were basic, using PowerPoint to add structure but nothing crazy requiring a lot of tech. I posted one here. Like any topic on Cooper, you could go on for hours. But distilling it down to the basic points is better, 10 minutes is really a preferred time to get max views inside and outside the Vortex. If you were really getting deep into something, then longer can work. But for instance, one could lay out the basics of the sketches and let the viewer make some decisions. This could be done in 10-20 minutes. Bottom line is Ryan is pushing the A sketch and not providing the info about the other sketches. Then you have members of the Facebook group who blindly agree with him, yet they do not ask any questions or look for more info. Ryan is good with off the cuff knowledge, and is well versed in the case. So getting a question answered by him is good. However, that often makes people assume his opinions are facts, when in reality most of his info is facts, but the opinion pieces like the A sketch get lumped in. EU has a lot of case knowledge too, some of it has atrophied, but he throws a lot of opinion in claiming it’s factual or gospel. The sketches are interesting, but to say the A sketch with its crazy thin Hollywood plastic surgery nose is best, is a leap. A looks like an alien. We have to take the sketches and descriptions as a whole. But Ryan wants to make us think the FBI made a mistake. I may gather all the info on the sketches and lay it out in a short video and then let people decide. Ryan’s parrots won’t change their mind though until Ryan decides B is better when the next new suspect comes out. Remember, he used the B sketch to push Vordhal
-
Ryan’s A sketch stands is being parroted by a few on Facebook, to include one of the Vordahl tie pushers Drew. Ryan wants people to believe that the B sketch was a mistake. His argument uses a red herring by stating memories of an event are better closer to an event. I generally agree with this, with some caveats. However, when he uses this approach, he leaves a lot of information out. Lies by omission. Just give all the facts Ryan. Yes, the terms "red herring" and "misdirection" are essentially synonymous when used to describe a diversion of attention or a deceptive tactic. Both refer to the act of leading someone away from the real issue or truth, often with the intention of distracting them from a more important detail or aspect of a situation
-
I can’t find anything in my notes about any witness saying thin or small for the nose. I think Alice maybe used the term small. Can someone confirm?
-
She was 6 in 1971. Ryan always leaves that part out and then uses misdirection to make some other aspect look important then spends time debunking that. Fly, you and I clearly enjoy the hobby, the chase, figuring things out. So if someone wants to attack my favorite baseball player or my favorite, go ahead, I’m still going to be interested in them. Ryan attacks suspects. He has done it relentlessly with Hahneman when he was called out by Fly. Same thing when I called out issues with Vordhal. All of a sudden there was a swell of focus on Smith. I’ve said before that you could have video on the plane and yet this won’t be solved to everyone’s satisfaction. So me spending time on Gunther and Smith whether as one or separate lines of effort is irrelevant. I’ll keep doing it even with no final end. I do think we will know who licked the stamp. My public efforts now usually entail trying to bring new people in or people who are not part of the Facebook clubs. And, calling out what is frankly dishonesty and integrity issues that I see from Ryan and a few others. Ryan does not have the juice to get Smith’s daughter on his show. And if he does, it will be the same bias as his other videos. Not to mention you still have a 6 year old who does not want her father to be DB Cooper. I assume Ryan is honest and has integrity in his regular life, he is just lacking in it in the Cooper case. He’s probably a good defense attorney. Juries don’t always consist of three cream of the crop, so his skills like logical fallacies, gaslighting, misdirection, red herrings, etc. are probably very useful in convincing them. Every time Smith, Hahneman, Gunther, Vordahl, Hall come up there is a general lack of forthrightness from Ryan and a few others. And people wonder why we don’t like sharing our research with others anymore.
-
Ryan’s latest outburst below. From Reddit. A conversation about William Smith. I’m sure if he even makes a video that he will leave out all sorts of information. Time to make a video on this. You were so certain that I was in some sort of cahoots with his daughter. I wasn’t before, but I’m pretty damn sure about to be. I’m going to reach out and have her on my show. WJS is finished. He’s about to become a punch line for a bad suspect just like Kenny or Barb.
-
We don’t know how unique a history the tie had. There have been very few if any legitimate control items tested. I don’t think the tie folks want to test a bunch of items, it will ruin the fun and there won’t be anything to talk about at CooperCon. EU wouldn’t have much to talk about if we found out the particles could have come from some industrial park.

I think from day one people were enamored by the special ops deal. Mission Impossible,James Bond, whatever. There is a reason these type of movies sell. You don't see too many movies out there about guys who were Army cooks or radar operators. Stolen Valor is usually someone claiming to be a SEAL, a Medal of Honor recipient, a POW. Never a cook or a supply clerk. So, Fly's commentary is spot on from my perspective. I looked back at some email comms I had with Bruce Smith back in 2018 when I started really getting into the case. I wrote this to him: "This does not smell like a special operations operation or mission. It just doesn't. Having parachute training and being in special ops are very different."
