  2. My reserve a due a re-pack and I'm waiting until I get my new Odyssey () in 10 days time to have it re-packed into that! tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe
  3. IIRC here in the UK skydiving planes are maintained under cargo rules not passenger rules - that usually explains to people why I don't want to land in it - explaining the comfort of landing on a grass runway! tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 4. Ditto - also what JDBoston and Staso said. At the moment many employers are looking at up to 50 candidates even for very senior positions, so trying to stand out can be helpful. Remember (which is hard when you keep getting rejections!) that if they don't like you, you will probably not like working with them either tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 5. I guess that'd be the week-end of 8th Nov? I'll be getting to Z-hills on the evening of 4th - so I'll see you at the week-end if you make it over tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe

Depending on your local weather and plane capacity 5 jumps a week-end could be a very reasonable assumption. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe
  8. have you noticed how everyone just remembers all the accidents and how awful they were? Kinda reminds me of when I mentioned to people I wanted to go skydiving..... I'm not saying that elevator surfing is safe, I have no idea and I doubt there are any stats, but just think about how similar to whuffos we are sounding tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 9. I guess some things weren't included 'cos HH hasn't been approached by kite-boarders or skiers wanting to run similar sites.... tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe
  10. I remember when I was an undergrad (admittedly over 10 years ago!) there was a great book called 'Grub on a grant' which had some fab recipes using cheap cuts of meat (turkey escalope etc) some of which I still use today. It may not be in print anymore, but if you are doing something on those lines, trying to get hold of that book may give you an idea of the kind of costs. Last year when I was a postgrad I would say I spent around £200 per month at Tesco, but that would have included washing powder, deodorant, toothpaste etc not just food. I also know that in comparison to some of my fellow students I was a bit better off - and you are right many undergrad students have no idea how to cook and waste money buying ready meals for microwaves! My fav was to buy the caserole veg mixes and potatoes and do a thick mixed veg soup - very nourishing and incredibly cheap!! tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 11. my alti (Alti II) regularly goes in the cargo hold of commercial planes and to date it has never seemed to suffer. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe
  12. I've had the one you call chiropractic from my physio - it is fantastic! The only other thing which sorts my back out as well as those needles do is skydiving and neither the NHS nor BUPA seem interested in paying for my jumptickets but BUPA does pay for the needles

  25. CrayIvan - I don't fancy transporting my grocery shopping (well a box of Florida Grapefruit!) on a bike, nor using a bike to get to the other DZ's in the area! Mar - the paper is a good idea, I'll do that if I don't find anything before I go. Don't worry about the shirt, it can wait until the 140 ways.
