At only 800 total jumps, and your neck is already a wreck, I would indeed recommend a side mount and a better opening canopy. I went from all on top to an FF2 with PC on the side and XT on the top, and noticed instantly the better feel on opening. I also went from my Stl-107 to a CF2, and the openings are THE BEST I have experianced in 28 years of jumping!!!! Save yourself!!! Dude, I know all you real pros love the FTP but man the side mounts are WAY-MO better for your neck!!! It keeps the CG closer to the main body!!! I have NOT had bad neck pain sense I went side mount!!!! Too much on the top causes excessive head sling in all directions!!!! I don't ask for gear checks, I jump a Power Racer with Pud. The reserve pins are on my back (between me and my rig) and my main closing flap has two large tabs that are very hard to open. Also, there is NO pilot chute cocked window to check, and I have a strait pin. So, I don't even bother to confuse anyone by asking for a pin check. I am my own AAD, I am just about ready for the 50 year inspection (that’s near my age; time in sport is 28 years).
