lens is foggy up in the middle of the picture
BlueSBDeath replied to airborne82nd's topic in Photography and Video
I also keep my cameras outside in the weather of the day. I try NOT to take it inside where it is air conditioned or heated (I think this may cut down on the change of temp the WILL happen from gnd to air, which causes condesation (bad Spelling)). I also try to point the lens at the sun as much as possible, I think (no facts) that this helps keep the moisture down that may be between the lenses. I also DO NOT remove the lenses that much (which I think introduces moisture and dust between them). Just my 2 cents Arvel BSBD...........Its all about Respect, USPA#-7062, FB-2197, Outlaw 499 -
This caused me to "flash back" to a Skydive book I read in 1979 by Pat Works called "United We Fall" Here is that passage: The Skydiver: (Male Variety). Between the insecurity of childhood and the insecurity of second childhood, we find the Skydiver. Skydivers are found everywhere: in bars, under bars, behind bars, looking through bars, in trouble, in debt, in love and in the air. Skydivers come in assorted sizes, shapes, and weights in states of sobriety, misery and confusion. Girls love them, mothers worry about them. Unemployment Checks support them, and, by some coincidence, they manage to get along with each other. The skydiver is laziness with a deck of cards, a millionaire without a cent, bravery with a smile. The Skydiver is a composite sly as a fox, has the brains of an idiot, the energy of a turtle, the sincerity of a liar, the appetite of an elephant, the aspirations of a Cassanova, the stories of a hero. When he wants something, it is usually free jumps, more money, a good piece of tail. He dislikes ASO'S, getting up early. small planes, hot-shot pilots (who never hit the DZ), the week before his payday, his girls' father's curfew, and legs (that is a landlover). He likes girls, women, females and all members of the opposite sex. No one can think of you so often and write so seldom. No one can get so much fun out of your letters, old jump)suits and sex movies. The skydiver is a magical creature: you can lock him out of your house, but not out of your heart. You can take him off your mailing list, but not out of your mind. -Author Unknown This was written, or at least was published in this book in 1979. Google the book, it is a great flash to our past. You should end it now while you still have that right, Just kidding Your only old if you feel that way, and if you are, and if your kids say you are, and you go to bed at 9pm, and take drugs for ED, and and ........I forgot what we were talking about It only gets better/worse, what ever. Well, I just got home late last night from Cali, I took United out of El Centro CA to LAX and then US Air to Charllote NC, and on into FAY NC. My gear was carry on, in a small Skater bag (Independent Truck Company) and fit in the over-head on all flights. No hassels from TSA, just very congested at all airports. Sue, I was a staunch supporter of Top Mount stuff for years. I just could not see how something on the side of me head would be any better, and I am a not so wide shouldered guy, so of course I had fears of the camera getting in the way of my risers!! However; now that I am very comfortable with the every now and then bump of a riser on the back side of my FF2, I will never go back to top mount (unless the $$$ is GOOD) because the neck is in such better shape now!!! It took me very little time to adjust to the helmet. I do set it up so that I can do both FF and Tandem Video; this just means for TM I look up a litte and for FF I look down a little. Just find a nice fitting RAWA or FF2, put some jumps on it without a camera in it and see how it feels. Then try with a camera, I am sure that in the long run you will be very happy!! Best of luck, stay safe, Arvel BSBD...........Its all about Respect, USPA#-7062, FB-2197, Outlaw 499

"I'd consider moving the cables to the back of the base plate" That is the first thing I was thinking too!!! Looks like it would work fine, do some test jumps, post some shots, or tell us how the cut-away was Stay safe, pull stable!!!! FTP - Neck injuries vs type of setup
BlueSBDeath replied to cj1150gs's topic in Photography and Video
Try these parameters with a side mount and a nice lite Canon XT on top and PC-330 on the side (FF2). I know it sure does feel better, I suspect the math is better for the neck too. Just my 2 cents, Arvel BSBD...........Its all about Respect, USPA#-7062, FB-2197, Outlaw 499
