It is my understanding that they are not going to compete in that situation. There is no more camera pool, like back in the good old days. Now camera is considered part of the team. YOu don't have one then you are not a full team and you don't play. Dom

Jane Fonda is a bitch and we will ruin your thread if we want to!!! Plus you only threaten to jump with us, most of the time you find a way to go drink instead!!! My Bitch for the day is that the Bytch doesn't jump more!!! Damn Lisa you used to have more jumps then me!!!! Dom

I tell ya this. If we didn't have AAD's we would have a lot less jumpers. I saw a post the other day and the guy rode the palne down becuase he didn't turn his Cypres on. I mean he has every right to not jump and shoould not do so if he doesn't feel safe, but if you rely on a Cypres then maybe youshouldn't be jumping. I mean.... you are responsible for your life and to trust a computer more then you trust yourself? If yout hink you won't pull or will lose awarness then maybe this isn't he sport for that type of person. Computers break all the time and the Cypres/Vigil?FXc, Whatever you use is no sure thing. Dom

"Falling Into Place" by Rita Ippoliti (another BOOK Q)
dgskydive replied to thegreekone's topic in The Bonfire
I read it. I laughed a lot. If I had been one of her instuctors............she wouldn't have had an ending to her book. I think she was one of the "If at first you don't succed, then skydiving isn't for you" types. Dom -
Goldilocks and the Three Rings

THis is becoming a big problem it seems to me. This is at leat the 2nd time I have heard this as the cause of a fatality this year. What is the cause? How much slack do you leave when stowing your lines? THere is a reason they give you so many places to put stows on your Dbag. Use them people. I watch packers all the time leave 2 ft. or more of lines unstowed and then they wonder why people have off heading openings or severe line twists. It is just as bad (IMHO) as not having enough. I walked by a packer on Sunday night that only used the two locking stows on the Dbag and then only 4 more on the rest of the bag. I told him that is wrong and could kill someone. He responded " I have to get these things packed up quick!" Lazy f---er!!!! I told him if he can't pack them right then he shouldn't take on so many people (he was packing for an 8 way team doing 20 minute calls.). All about themoney and no regard for the saftey of the jumpers. I did let the jumpers know what was going on. Dom -
Goldilocks and the Three Rings

Don't know about the french lady, but from all acounts John did try to clear his main. It was the fact that the main lines where wrapped around his main flap that caused it not to clear. Then he did what he had to. His was not a result of pullinghis reserve to fast. He cut away, tried to clear it and then pulled his reserve. I cold be wrong about his but..... this is what has been found in the investigation and from eye witnesses. So It think using John is a bad example. Dom -
most newbie friendly DZ out of big three
dgskydive replied to thegreekone's topic in Events & Places to Jump
What Lisa said. SQ2 is a great store!!! SQ1 does have a much bigger selection of stuff to demo. IF you choose Eloy, give the staff at SQ2 a call and see if they can round up any canopies you may want to jump before you get there. They have a much smaller selection then the store at Perris. Either wa we will do our best to take care of you, but if gear is your main reason for coming out, then hit Perris. IF you want good Freefly coacching hit Perris as well. You can't go wrong with the 3 time National Champions Alchemy on the DZ. Plus the tunnel and pool and BIG BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dom -
Eric, check your private messages. maybe when you get out here you can talk Rob Work into jumping again. The guy runs the tunnel but we can't even get him in it. Dom

What do Jets and Golf carts have in common?
dgskydive replied to ChangoLanzao's topic in The Bonfire
Ok what did you guys do to our Jet with the Golf carts? Dom -
I haven't had to apply shoe goo to either of thelast two Pit Specials I have gotten the one I just replaced ahd well over 500 jumps on it and 20 hours+ in the tunnela the booties held strong. The patches and such didn't. Hell was never good enough for all those patches anyway. Dom

dgskydive replied to steve1's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
Not when I was there in '90 They looked just like our Basic pics. Except we were much skinner by the time we hit Jump School. MY favorite part of jump school, was walking clock wise in the chow hall. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dom -
What? Dom

Hurry put some stickers on it!!!!!!! Dom

I never said the vented ones. Just the Mega. Plus if they don't fit right they do ya no good. That is the case with any set of booties. Dom
-
That is what I was thinking. Tha is one of the nicest things about the Pilot......the openings. If it truly is a problem with the canopy I assure you Aerodyne will make you happy. They always do. Donbn't think peopel are beating you up by some of the staments they have made. They are trying to gove you help on deployments. Usually it is body position that leads to weird opening. Sounds like they are getting you the trim specs on it. You will know soon enough. Also let a packer try and pack it. Let a more experienced jumper jump it and see what they say as well. What are you loading the canopy at? I wonder if you are really light and that may cause the end cells to stay closed. Dom
