YOu guys are taking my question way out of context. I was simply asking how it is a hobby. Never heard of anyone picking locks as a hobby is all. for the record though. I dont think that people should be able to own lock picking tools unless they have a good valid reason for it. If everyone has them, we might as well just set our stuff out on the street for criminals to take. Sure some may be responsible with the tools, but you and I both know that the great majority of the people that would have them, would be using them for illegal purposes. Even you just admitted that you have some and use them to illegally break into places to jump. I don't see how you can compare lock picks to owning a weapon based on my previous post though. Again it wasn't a statement. It was a question. Dom

Am I wrong? What should I do or have done?
dgskydive replied to AdamUSN's topic in Safety and Training
Considering that most people break off at 4k, that is a high opening if you are one of the first out. I would suggest no matter where you jump, if your going to open at 4, then you might want to be last out of the plane. Sounds like the guys that went past you so close, may have needed to give more separation though for sure, unless you and your buddy were drifting up the line of flight which can happen. Maybe you and your friend where chasing each other all over the sky and didnt realize it. So it MAY (not saying it was), but it MAY be your fault that they were so close to the group that went by you under canopy. Where you trying to freefly, or belly flying? I have seen a lot of new jumpers try to freefly and not realize how much they are moving up or down the line of flight. Dom -
I was lucky enough to get to see her in Dublin the month before. Didnt spend much time with her, but at least I got to say goodbye and give her a hug one last time. Dom

UPS is good about that in the the City. They always say that they attempted to deliver during business hours and no one was there. WE have a person at our front desk from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm monday through friday and they try to come at 7 and 8 pm. I have had 3 packages like that in the last 6 months. Always something you really really need. bastards! When I worked at SQ1, we used FEDEX unless we had no other choice. Kate and Tony hated UPS. Dom

Isnt the legal age to be an adult 18? So in order to sign for a UPS package you have to be 21? that is nuts Dom

lol. Why not just call Aerodyne or a gear store. Would be much faster to find out then posting on dz.com Dom

I finally understand how low turns can happen
dgskydive replied to almeister112's topic in Safety and Training
You have enough experience to already know this, but for others. If you are not comfortable landing downwind with the conditions you take off in, then maybe people should rethink getting on that plane at that time. I have a lot of jumps at Perris and havent known it to be as bad as you seem to think it is. But it will change at times. Dom -

That is actually a good statement, but the big reason to have a plan and stick with it is. So everyone knows what to expect. Imagine you change your plan last second and the person behind you has no idea that you are about to change something. now you create a problem for them. these things build up and next thing you know you have people landing every which way someone gets hurt. HAVE A PLAN AND STICK TO IT!!!! If that means landing downwind then so be it. Again if you are not comfortable landing down or cross wind in the conditions that you take off under then you might want to rethink making that jump. Dom -
lol. You bastard. I find it very addictive killing and skinning the animals. Not sure what it is about that, but throw out some bait and kill em all. HA! The cougars are a bitch, they sneak up on ya from behind. So you haven't finished it yet? There is a big surprise at the end. Dom

But it is so fun shooting them in the head with every shot you have with what ever Pistol your using. One thing they really go right was the way the characters react when you shoot them. Its kinda fun to see them get dragged around after you shoot em off their horse. I wish they had done a little bit more with the horses though. The longer you keep a particular horse, it should do more things for you. Maybe you can tie it up to some bars in a jail and break people out and things like that. Overall it is the best Western themed video game out. You are way more evil then I am, didnt even think to try that. Haven't shot any dogs either. Pigs on the other hand get kicked and shot regularly. Dom

Finished it about two weeks ago. Good game. They sure do throw around a lot of negative remarks about Jews though. Dom

Normally I would say what ever, how cares........but you need all the inches you can get!! Oh that sounded kinda bad. Dom

I never said criminal. I have helped people get into their cars with hangers back in the day. just curious as to how picking locks could be a hobby. Does he have a bunch of locks around the house that he plays with when bored? Just curious Dom
-
What is a "hobbyist" when it comes to picking locks? Just walk around and see if you can open something that you should not be opening? Or do you like to lock yourself out of the house and see if you can get back in? Dom
-
Why not just crash at the DZ? just talk to manifest and they will get ya in the IHOP or bunkhouse. Dom

Bunches of people are going to tell you that is the wrong answer. I am one of them. Always plan your dive, everything from the way you get in the plane to the exit order, the dive itself and yes...........which way you are going to land. Even if the winds shift, you need to stick to that plan. If you jump at a DZ that tends to have winds that shift a lot, then I would suggest that you learn to land downwind. With proper instruction of course. It may save your life one day. If they winds that day are to high for you to safely land down wind in those conditions than maybe you shouldn't get in the plane. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. If you cant handle the worst case scenario then again, don't get in the plane. Dom -

Calif Assembly Votes to Ban Plastic Grocery Bags
dgskydive replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
dont care which is worse or better. I just remember how proud California was when they first started the whole plastic bag thing. Its plastic and you can recycle and not kill trees. Now plastic is bad. Wish we could make up our collective minds. Dom -

FIRST CAMERA AND EDITED VIDEO
dgskydive replied to e_nevett's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Because those Egomanics and Skygods that you talked about have been around long enough to have seen newbies kill themselves with the attitude that you showed in your original response. This sport kills and little things like a camera on a foot doesnt seem like a lot until it is a lot. No one is worried about not being as cool as you are. That is the dumbest response you could have said. This sport is not about being cool. If it is for you, then maybe you should rethink what you are doing. I have seen a lot of "cool" people die and a lot of "uncool" people are still around having a great time. Cool is staying alive and making another jump and not killing your buddy. Dom -
Israeli troops attack ship carrying aid to Gaza killing 16
dgskydive replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Islam is peace, but what we see everyday is not Islam. To bad true Muslims dont actually stand up to those that use their religion for evil purposes. What we need is a Muslim civil war. True Muslims should fight back against those that are ruining their religion. Instead they sit back and bitch and moan about what we western devils are doing to their Muslim brothers. Dom
