  1. Sell the bike, buy another rig. Stop wishing for rain. Or we will have to break your other knee. Dom
  2. Some of those pics you saw may have been taken by Craig O'Brien. BTW he was wearing a Birdman suit when he took the pictures. Fleix was out at Perris before he did his "race" with the Porter. OB and some others shoot some stills and video. From what I hear they did better on the Birdsuits (as far as fall rates then the hard wings. Although I believe he may have had more forward speed then they could get. I was eaves dropping when they got down. Dom

    Home!

Welcome Home Bytch! I was worried about that car of yours. You are right about the drive on the 70. Plenty pretty. Come see us at the DZ! Dom
  4. Lou's post is right on. ALthough I will say that doing static line jumps will not ruin your love for skydiving. It will only make you appreciate the great civilian gear that we have available to us. 100 rounds in the air at the same time is no picnic! Dom
  5. Damn! CAn I get you to sell my old car that doesn't run anymore. I already have an Infinity and you made me want to go order another one! Dom
  6. IMHO Atair makes some of the worst canopies on the market. I have never jumped one but I have had way more negative feedback from my customers then good. The 2 stage opening that they have is not really as important as some people think (a lot of people cut away from them). We have a bunch of Cobalts that people bought new and put 10 to 15 jumps on and have turned right around and tried to sell them used and they are still sitting there on the shelf. Check out the Sabre 2 form PD or the Pilot from Aerodyne. Both are excellent canopies that open well and land even better. I am not sponsored by wither one of them and still say they are the best two intermediate canopies on the market. The Sabre 2 has been around a while and costs around 1400.00 to 1600.00 depending on the size. The Pilot costs 1359.15 regardless of the size. It will take about 5-6 weekd for a custom Pilot and about 9 weeks for a custom Sabre 2. Dom
  7. IMHO the Infinity is the best rig on the market. Great price, low lead time and some of the best customer service out there. Kelly is really good about getting it right the first time. No matter how you like to skydive it works and feels great. The best riser protection on the market. Looks great as well. Also the price is great. You can get a custom Infinty with hip rings, pin stripes, kill line PC and HAckey for $1229.25 Dom
  8. Isn't a Viper something that will jump up and bite you and maybe even put ya to sleep for ever? Dom
  9. Did you see what DiverDriver posted about the prices. All they really did was go up to where they where supposed to be. You are beating them up for giving a discount and then going back to regular prices like they said they where. If the price of jumps go up to 25.00 or 30.00 bucks then we will have to deal with that when it happens. I'm sure if that happened it would be across the board at all DZ's and not just Perris. As far as what I said about Perris being a home to a lot of us. It is. You may not agree but it is. If you where around a lot more you would see. I asked people if they knew you and noone did. If you where more active and regular (I understand you broke your leg) as far as coming out you would see how it really is. Nobody is going to come run up and kiss ya as soon as they meet you. Make yourself known and be visible. I know who you are and everytime I see you I say hello to ya. I am not the nicest guy out there either. Get to no the LO's and it will start from there. I have found that the nicer you are to everybody the nicer they are to you. Let people know that this is (if you keep jumping there) your home DZ and they will make an effort to get to know you. You are right about Perris being big and some people do get lost in the mix. They are generally real quite and don;t make an effort to introduce themselves. It lies on your shoulders. Just don't say Perris isn't a home to people because it is! In fact it is my home, and I am very protective of it. I came from a small DZ just like you did and I understand the feeling that you had up at your old DZ. You just have to look a little harder but you can get the same thing at Perris. Dom
  10. Other people have said it already in this post but it is worth repeating. You will be sorry for giving up Skydiving. It is we all are. It is what we where meant to do. I don' tknow your situation but how can you change who and what you are for someone else. You will be unhappy and regret it. Maybe even hold it against your spouse everytime you get in an argument. I'm sure you love your spouse but would you expect them to change for you and then expect them to be happy about it. Chances are they would resend it over time and IMHO I think you will. Everytime you see jumping in the T.V. or in the paper or at a demo somewhere you will have that little pain inside you that will make ya wanna smack someone. Dom
  11. DAMN RIGHT PAUL! This is more than a DZ to a lot of us. This is our home and the Conatsers have built a beautiful place for us to come live and play. Dom
  12. Are you bashing them for personally owning land and selling it? Hey, that is there personal business. Does it really have anything to do with the DZ? Should they put every penny that they have personally into the DZ and then have nothing for themselves? Do they owe us something that would make them put every penny they have into the DZ? How many people start a buiness to go broke? Not me and I'm sure not the Conatsers. If a McDonalds bathroom is broke does the owner pay for it to get fixed out of his own pockets? Why should they pay out of there personal pockets for the DZ? I wouldn't. Would you? Dom
  13. Scott, I to am upset that the prices went up at Perris, but you have to realize that they are trying to make it in a tough business. It's not cheap to run a DZ and the profits aren't as high as you may think that they are. I'll tell you how the Conatsers take care of the jumpers there. You may have been out with your broken leg when all this went on but they just fired the new manager at the Bombshelter. Why, Because he raised prices! That restarunt does not make a profit and they fired the guy for raising prices! They sometimes have to pay the Restaurant staff from the regular DZ operations. Do you want them to close the restaurant? I'll talk with Ben and Diane. Perris is one of if not the premire DZ in the world. Especially when the tunnel is finished. It takes money to keep 3 Twin Otters and a Skyvan in the air. It takes money to build and keep up the those nice video debrief rooms that we get to use for free. It takes money to keep up the bunk house and the IHOP. It takes money to pay all the pilots and the loaders. It takes money to keep up all those monitors around the DZ that show us our calls. If you went to Vegas and decided to stay at the Venitian would you complain about the price? If you don't like the price go to Circus Circus that has less of the services and you get what ya pay for. I'm not trying to be a dick to you at all. I'm just hoping you can see why Perris is more expensive. If you don't care about all the other things that Perris offers then check out Otay or go to Elsinore or one of the other smaller DZ's in the area and pay the same or a few dollars less. I for one am very happy to call Perris my home DZ. I may not agree with the prices going up but I understand why they have to do it. As far as credit card fees go. At least at Perris they only charge the people whouse the card for the fees. At most service type businesses they just factor it into the cost of the goods for everyone to share even if they never use a credit card. As far as Perris having 100 Tandems in 1 day. You are wrong about the profit they make. The jumpmaster gets a very nice chunk of that 200.00 on every jump and they deserve it. Tandems aren't easy jumps to do! The video guys get the bigger chunk of the video money. So not all that goes into the DZ coffers. THey also have office staff that they have to pay. The school couldn't run with out them. Besides those are to different businesses. The school buys there slots from the DZ. There is also insurance to think of as well. I can't even begin to think how much they must pay for insurance. Running a DZ is a labor of love. We are lucky that the Conatsers love the sport so much and that we have such a great place to jump. Take a break from Perris and go to that small DZ for a year and see how much you miss what is here when you are crammed into a 182 with a tandem and the video guy. It takes 30 minutes to get to 10.5 and you are doing solos all day because the Tandems are more important than the up jumpers and there isn't room in the plane for your 2 way you wanted to do. Is that worth saving 2 or 3 dollars per jump? Not to me. I would rather pay the extra money and pretty much get to do any type of jump that I want, and I don't make a lot of money and EVERY penny that I make is important to me. Dom
  14. You sick bastard. Why do you even have those kind of pics just lying around? Dom
  15. LOL! I did the same thing when I had my tonsils out as a kid. I of course don't remember it but apparently I took a few good swipes at some little nurse. OOPS! Dom
  16. No visitors yet, he is still in ICU. It shouldn't be to long though. BTW your new picture is way better then the last one. This one shows how hot you really are. Dom
  17. For those of you who didn't read it in the other post, Eric is awake and off the Vent. That was good enough news and really made me smile until I heard what his first words where. Apparently when asked who he was and if he knew what happened, he told them. It seems he is a Skydiver that is in the Airforce that had a Napalm bomb drop on him that is causing his leg to burn! I guess being in a comma for 19 days will make you a little foggy on thedetais when ya wake up! For the record Eric is not in the Airforce and has propably never seen Napalm. What knid of dreams was he having? Dom
  18. I saw that episode as well. I thought the SKydiver is gonna kick ass! Then he said he didn't want sex from his hot fiance 4 times a day or what ever it was and thought "what kind of sydiver is not sex crazed?" I wish them luck! Fix him up when he gets back to Cross Keys. Dom
  19. I have put 40 or 50 jumps on a Pilot 150. Great canopy. Very similar to a Sabre2. Great openings, fun to fly and lands very nicely. This is a great canopy for new jumpers looking to grow. Or for more experienced jumpers looking for something fairly tame. I think you will be well served by this canopy. PM me if you have anymore questions. Dom
  20. 10 Some were very good friends some not so good. I will miss them all and think of them all the time. Dom
  21. You take all the time you need to downsize! Fly that canopy until you can fly it in your sleep! Then worry about downsizing. After meeting you this weekend it would be a shame to let a pretty girl like you get broke up under canopy. If you haven't seen her in real life watch out! Rosa is a HOTTY! Dom
  22. A strap that fits around the outside of the helmet that holds like ski googles would be cool. ____________________________________________________________ Take a look at a Frap Hat. Dom
