You are so Tiny. It looks huge on you! Tell everybody what size canopies that holds. That was one of the SQ1 demo's right? We will see if we can get a better pic this weekend for you. It may be good for folks to see how an Infinity that has a LOT of jumps on looks. Yours looks great in real life. How many jumps did they tell you it had on it? I can't remember. It will be good to show people the quality after all the abuse our demo's take. Dom

Exactly! I am actually sitting on 4 brand new ones as of this morning. If I haven't heard from them soon. I will put them up for us all to see. Dom

Your are absolutely correct about that. It is a choice we make for ourselves. It's the shit happens thing that gets us all. Dom

i don't have one but don't do what I do. Do what makes you feel better. If you want one jump it. If not then no worries. Don't become reliant on it. It is there only as a back up. If all else fails it may save your ass. Be responsible for your own life don't trust a peice of electronics to do it for you. I hear so many peple say "i'll be ok I have a Cypres!" True it will probably work and save your life but don't count on it as a sure fire thing. Shit can and Does happen. Dom

Congratulations! Good first choice! Love it and take care of it and it will do the same back! Dom

I was actually standing there with my camera about to snap the pics then I thought. Hmmmmm... maybe I should let them see them first. Dom

Back to the topic at hand. We just got two new ones in today. Both on time (early) and looking good. Hey Jason you out there? I am sitting on yours right now! CAN MAN! If you are out there yours is here as well. I really like yours. Dom

Since this is the G&R forum I will say they look awfully wide for the narrow (leg straps that is) IF this wasn't the G&R forum I would say. WHAT ASS!?!?!?!? [cluck, cluk, cluk] Dom

What was your most proud skydive day
dgskydive replied to cocheese's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Many Proud moments. The ones that stand out are....... 1.) Jm'ing my first students 2.) Making the Ft. Lewis Demo Team 3.) The day I found out I was accepted on a 10 way team with Dan B.C this year for nationals!!!!!!!!!!! I hope number three will be followed by a few more proud moments this year. Now, if I could just convince him to do 8 way me. -
You guys got some good ones then. The biggest thing I see out here with the Z1 is the lens seems to want to come out and people have been losing them during deployment. I agree with another poster about the helmet not seeming very secure in the way that it is tightened up. I have seen them come open in free fall and in the wind tunnel. TO be fair I jump an Oxygn A3 and it has never fogged or come open on me in the sky or the tunnel, but I have seen the visor get ripped off of two of them in the tunnel. I guess it just depends on what look you like. ME I would rather have the Oxygen and if I lose a lens, oh well. I don't think it would ever come off my head unless I didn't strap it on or didn't replace the velcro when it needed it. Just my .02 Dom

Don't you have the double wides? I would consider you to have some what of.......... let's say chicken legs! [ducks, runs for cover and hides for a long time] How do you like them? Dom

You missed her by about a half hour last week! Dom
-
You should have seen the one she was gonna send you Lisa. We bought it from her and we will be seeing it on T-shirts soon. Purusha is the MOST incredilbe lady I have ever meet. For those of you that don't know her. She is an old time skydiver. In fact a pioneer. Set many early RW records out at Elsinore. Was one of the first people to do Free Style and has more round jumps then I care to think about. She is all of 5 ft and weighs about nothing soaking wet! ALways happy and will bust her butt for a friend. I won't say how old she is but she started jumping in the Mid 60's. She is an inspiration to a lot of people weather she knows it or not. She recently has been back in the air so to speak (wind tunnel) after a long long time on the ground. Watching her in the tunnel last night and last month was more fun then being in it(almost). She is also a motivational speaker and yoga intructor. Along with leading Drum Circles and searching for Fairies. If she was 30 years, Hell 20 years younger I would marry her! Dom

Nice pics. Talk to Kelly about the Tie Die. I know he has worked close with folks before on theirs. As always I recommend the Double wide leg straps. Mostly for bigger people, but they are so comfortable I think everyone should get them. Dom

Another judgment! You really should stop talking before you think about what you say. Know all the fact before you post something about anybody or anything. I have never told anyone that I work for Perris. Until recently I was paying for every jump I hae ever done there. I became and if you think those are free jumps then you are nuts as well. Lo'ing takes time and work. I have a job that is in the industry but not working for PErris. In fact 99% of my day is spent off the Dz on the weekdays. If you are posting to learn then ask it in a question. Don't make a statment and then back pedal saying that it was a question later. I never asked you for an apology. Just want to you to think before you say something! Dom

Straight from your keyboard. Scott I have sent you many Pm's over the last year and if you still don't get it. Well I won't bother anymore. Dom
-
I did say you are entitled to your opinions. This is a forum for discussion. You just come off like you are know what is going on out at Perris and what everyone is thinking. As far as lightening up goes, I will lighten up when you smarten up and realiaxe what you are saying and how it can be taken as offensive and ignorant to a bunch of people. This is a funny sport. We are all very possive and protective of it and the places we jump at. As I said in one of earlier posts Perris is my HOME and the HOME of many others on this site. SO if you are doing or saying anything that I or someone else feels hurts or gives a bad impression of our HOME. You are gonna hear about it! WE have met more then once and I you even watched me in the windtunnel last week on Meeker Monday. I had the all Black jumpsuit with blue grippers and a Blue Oxygen on. Don't really need a beer. Just wish you would realize how you come across on line and once again you are speaking in a way that many will take as a direct reflection of our DZ. So if I think it comes across in a bad way I want to make sure people realize that your opinions are just that and not the way that 99% of the people feel at Perris! Maybe you should educate yourself before offering opinions that make little or no sense. Dom

Very good assesment Jimbo! They are just know working angles to get more people involved in the tunnel (wuffos). The jumpers have been all over it from day one but we are not enough to make it truely profitable. Despite my best efforts at throwing all my money at it. Thank god for my new LO spot at Perris or I wouldn't be able to do both as much as I do. It is definatley not hurting Orlando at all. This tunnel has made it easier for the west coast to take advantge of a great tool. It isn't going to put anybody out of business. It will make the west coast stronger in every discipline though. It's amazing how fast people are coming along with the use of it. As far as extra business. IT will bring some. The big thing will be if the DZ works tandems and there families. While 18 yr old. Johnny is doing his tandem jump and the 20 family members they brought to watch are sitting around for 4 hours while he waits to get in the air. They get interested in it. Johhny's little brother can get in for 2 minutes for cheaper then his Tandem Dom

No they didn't. Scott they actually have been working very hard with Elsinore to make sure that both DZ's to well. The Jet will never turn all day and it will never be the most desirable plane to jump from. It will be fun but not practical EVER! I think people get (I know I do) a little uneasy when you start talking on line here Scott. You tend to state things as fact when you really don't have a clue. Reading your replys it would seem you are very in touch with the thought and feelings of the jumpers at Perris and you are not. Your opinions are your own and you are intitled to them. Just try and keep in mind that your words on here to effect the place that many of us love and call home. Dom

Rob was giving some of us a tour of it right after it got here. The plan at that point was to remove I blieve the last 6 rows to use as a staging area and leave the rest in place. They had us all bring our rigs and sit in the seats, walk down the isle and see what we could get caught up on. We even did a few jam ups to see how we could get situated in it. The coolest thing about that little tour was that while we where sitting in the seats, they started up the electrical system to open the door in the tail for us. Everyones eyes lit up at once, you cold see the light turn on in all of our heads! THEY ARE GIVING US A FREE TEST JUMP!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT! It was like meeting a good looking woman for the first time and all you can think about is well dirty things and she starts to take of her clothes shows ya some skin and then she walks away before anything good pops out. It was like skydiver BLUE BALL! Dom

Since when is the DZ responsible for charity? You wanna go you pay! They have every right to make money off of there plane. That makes a lot of sense. Let's leave the cabin unpressurized so the Pilot can pass the fuck out. They should lose money just to give you a cheap ride? I am glad you don't make the financial descisions for Perris. We would all get really cheap jumps and free shit for 6 months and then the DZ would shut down because they ran out of money, Dom

You got it right Driver. The FAA and the Conatsers have been working on this for well over a year before the Jet even got here and Perris gets along very well with the FAA and our Pilots! Scott has a way of saying things that just offend us all from time to time. I can't figure out where he comes up with some of the stuff he says. His comments in no way reflect the opinions of 99% of the jumpers at Perris. Dom
