Wake up. If you think your govt. officals are nice and clean then you are living in a dream world. No Govt. is perfect and no person is perfect. Just because Clinton got caught doesn't make him worse. It just means he got caught. Why not worry about where that 2 billion dollars from Norway went? Can you explain why we shouldn't worry about that. Europeans are always talking about how f---ed up America is. If other countries would step up to the plate and take a stand on something other then to say America is f---ed up maybe we wouldn't feel the need to take the lead all the time. When was the last time Norway did anything to help out the rest of the world in a time of trouble? That is when was the last time they took the lead and really did something? Without waiting for others to do it first. That goes for most European countries. You guys talk a lot of s--t and do nothing. All you guys do is worry about yourselves. Dom

They have many eyes on the planes at night. People don't realize it most of the time, but people live all around the hangers and not much can happen with out our friends Smith and Wesson helping out if they have to. We are not letting Tim go out by himself with out a radio for a while. He is actually my neighbor and we will not let anything happen to him or the planes. Dom

Tim isn't exactly a spring chicken. He played it cool. The guys almost got an ass beating when they should back up the second time, but cooler heads prevailed. Besides there where so many skydivers circling these guys that most of us would have probably hit each other just trying to get at them. Ever see the second Matrix movie? We would have just piled on top of the guy. The weight from all of us would have killed him! Dom

That being said...... in a situation like that, the shooting would have stopped as soon as our troops could get themselves out of harms way. But if they are taking fire from that school and soldiers are going down, they have every right to defend themselves and they will. Using a truck as weapon is uncalled for (especially with skydiver in the back) unless your life is in direct danger. Did motorcycle guy have gun? Quote Let's clarify what TIm did. He dorve down the side if the runway to catch the guy. The motorcycle then turned back toward him. The motorcycle turned around in front of the truck. All Tim did was step on the gas a bit. He didn't set out to run the guy down. The guy put himself in that position. The skydivers in the back where fine. Tim wasn't going very fast when he hit the guy. More like a love tap. For all intents and purposes the juy might as well had a gun in his hand. If he where on a Federal airport and did that, he would have been in a much bigger world of hurt. With the state of the world today, I bet he would have been shot at. Dom

That's the thing about it, The Dz doesn't want trouble. They just don't want people acting stupid and putting peoples lives in danger. They would rather those guys just go away and not make it worse. Plus, do you really want the cops hanging around the DZ near sunset? Dom

I ahve had plenty of rough landings and more then one on one day. The thing is to try your best not to let the lastjump stay in your head. Once you are done with it just let it go. LOL! My thoughts exactly. I was standing in line in the Bombshelter when the PA went off asking for help. I was actually in the middle of ordering when I just left and ran out there. Lucky for those guys that a few guys with cooler heads and not as dumb as the rest of us got there first and started talking to the guys. It was funny how their eyes got bigger and their chests got smaller as more andmore and more skydivers ran around the corner withour funny suits on and all ready to kick there ass. Dom

To clarify a bit more of what Diablo pilot said. Tim is a great bad spot guy. He probably saw you way before you saw him. Even if he was in the way at 200 ft you should be able to flat turn away from the truck. As far as the Motorcycles go. I will tell you the story. The motorcycle was racing the plane on Taxi and Take off! This guy was UNDER the wing while Howie was trying to take offin the plane. The guy had been told to leave once already and flipped everyone off and then proceeded to once again ride his bike under the wing of the plane as it was trying to take off! Tim dorve up to get him to stop and the guy then treid to powerslide 180 degress and take off from Tim. At this point Tim just kinda step on the gas and took the bike out! YEEEEAAAAHHHHH for Tim. I wish he had not only broke the bike, but broke the guy riding it. The police where called and the guy wanted to press charges on Tim. When he asked the cop if he could press charges and fill out a report, the cop laughed at him and told him if a reoprt got written it would be on him for Trespassing, endangerment and he would be reported to the FAA. This is an active runway that this guy was messing around on and the plane was full of 23 skydivers! The Conatsers have been very nice to the moto cross guys that come out to the canal and ride. They let them drive up the ultra light side of the runway and come hang out at the Bombshelter. It is illegal to ride you motorcylce over there (in the canal) anyway. If I had been in the truck I would have hit the guy to. After all that happened, the guy and his friends came back and tried to pick a fight with the loaders at the loading ramp! That quickly stopped when about 50 skydivers where called over the PA to go out and help the loaders. Once again the cops where called and once again the guys left because they where wrong! I can understand how it may have looked really bad to a visitor if you didn't see the whole thing. Just know that Tim is not a dumbass and if you see a truck riding around the landing area, you are safe from it. Tim never takes his eyes off of the canopies on the air. That little white (or sometimes Red truck) is a good thing out in the landing area. In fact he probably saw you open and knew exactly where you where going to land even before you did. Dom

I agree with what Wendy said. I will also say that I bet on more then one of those incidents there where insurgents around those vehicles firing at our troops. If an ambulance drives into the line of fire and takes three or 4 hits from one of our weapons hey that sucks but it is a part of war. If they where shot at intentionally, then that is a very serious problem. Same with the curches and schools and hospitals. As part of the rules of war, we do not attack those types of places...... unless they are being used against us. If the Iraqi's go into a school and start shooting up soldiers then it is open season on that school. I know that is not what anybody wants to happen (except the insurgants), but it is what would happen. Those soldiers have every right to protect themsleves in that situation. Even if that did happen it wouldn't be a long drawn out thing. It would be just enough to get out of the line of fire until something else could be worked out. Dom

Oh know he is going to order a custom reserve. What ever makes you happy. Not picking on you in particular, more of a general picking on everyone that has ordered a custom color reserve. Why? Does it really make a difference what color your reserve is? I have always had a mindset of "who cares what color the reserve is" As long as it works and I know that it is a reserve over my head I am happy. I have a friend that insists on getting a reserve that matches his main. "Why" I ask him and all he can say is "it would be cool" I askhim if he would be able to tell which was which if he had two out. He said it didn't matter at that point! WTF?????? Sorry for the rant. Have you been seeing the images tht have been coming out of there lately? I just watched a show the other night and all they showed for 5 minutes was small children and women that had been killed in the recent fighting in Fulluja (sp). We have no idea if these people where killed by us or by the Iraqi's, but you can bet that the Iraqi's will say it is us that have been killing them. Then you start seeing pictures like this one show up and idiots start believing that our soldiers are over there killing kids. I will admit that we have probably killed women and children over there. It happens in war. No way around it in a war like this, but it is not something that is done intentionally, and our services men and women need to realize that images like that will make it harder on them in the end. It just adds fuel to the fire. The average Iraqi out there doesn't know about Photoshop and even if they do, all it takes is a word from the favorite local Crazy religous leader to tell them that this is a true image and then they get all worked up and go kill some more Americans. If you think that images like this won't be used against our troops in a phsycological war then you are mistaken. This is about a lot more then just blowing of steam. In the end the reason they don't want stuff like this showing up comes down to not giving the enemy any more reason then they already have to get fired up. There are plenty of ways for a combat troop to blow off steam. You go out and lift weights (if your unit doesn't have any then you go make some). We used to organize wrestling matches to help get rid of stress. Volley ball games between platoons works real well also. The unit commander can set up a live fire drill and have them go out and shoot up some shit. I have said in another thread about this same picture. I have a sick sense of humor and can appreciate a good joke. I have done and said things that would shock most people out there. Hell, I do it on a daily basis. This is about more then that. Dom

I have been in combat and I know that this guy is a support guy. The only combat he probably saw was on CNN or the aftermath. It isn't funny to most of the people that I know that served in the Military and it just makes all service men look bad. You are entitled to your opinion. But I take offense to your comment of Grow up. I am grown up and served my country for 9 years and have been in combat. Pictures like this help give the U.S. and all the service men and women over there a bad image. Right now their image is bad enough without shit like this adding fuel to the fire! Maybe you should grow up and think of the other soldiers over there that will be associated with this guy and his picture. If he didn't make that sign then the should go after the guy that photoshopped it. If he did, then he will be taken care of by the military and rightfully so. Plain and simple this isn't excepted in the Military and will never be. He is in the Military and what he can and can't do are regulated to him by the UCMJ. It doesnot allow for things like this. Dom
