  1. What.... Do you want us to call you MR. Pink now?
  2. Years ago (94-95) They shot a Visa commercial at my old home DZ. Norm Kent and Joe Jennings shooting the video. "The sky is clear, a perfect day for a JUMP!" Then a Otter door flys open and two people fall out doing a Tandem. It was one of those adds where they tell ya they don't take American Express. Most of the jumpers in it where Military and so where rmost of the extra's. It aired for a few months and made our little DZ very popular in Washington St. for a bit. Lot's of fun to watch them go through the process of actually shooting a commercial. They even let us all try out for a slot in the commercial. They wanted someone to be in the door looking out as the tandem left. The hard part for us all was, that they wanted us to look scared. We just couldn't do it good enough for them. Most uf us where to excited at the prospect of jumping the Otter they had brought in that we couldn't get teh smiles off of our faces long wnough to look scared. They ended up using a wuffo that had no problem being scared in a jump [lane with the door open at 13,000 ft. Dom
  3. It is actually a cool little commercial. Stick of gum follows a guy out of a plane and goes in after the guys canopy opens. The stick of gum waves his little fists at the guy as he falls away and then lands on a tree limb. Dom
  4. Ok now that is Skydiving in advertising! Way Cool. According to the site, it was shot at Perris Valley in NORTHERN California. I might ne at the wrong DZ. SHIT! Now I have to move again! Dom
  5. I only saw one pic with a rig in it. Cool for Greg and Omar, but I wouldn't really consider those skydiving in advertising. I mean all you see is some straps and some hardware. Dom
  6. I have been to a taping of it twice! [in my best Nelson voice] Ha Ha! Lot's of fun to go and take part in it. One of my best friends while growing up goes to a taping everytime he comes home to visit his parents. That is how I ended up going. Dom
  7. I vote we have a Roysplaything forum. Lany has been making all the boys smile for a while. So I think we should give her a forum all to herself. As long as she keeps posting pics of her butt Dom
  8. LEt's not and say we did. Dom
  9. LOL! I used to do the same thing to my little sister! It was the only way I could get enough bravery built up to turn off the lights and go to sleep myself. As long as she was crying down the hall I was safe! Wow! I really was a mean brother! So what are you dreaming about that is worse then little voodoo guys killing you? Dom
  10. She will be the best dressed Barbie at the DZ! Dom
  11. I remember that movie. The little guy was terrifying to me as a kid. I hated putting my feet down when getting in or out of my bed for awhile. All I could think of was his little spear stabbing me over and over again. Dom
  12. See, you and Roy really need a stand in for him when he is gone. I volunteer for the first watch! Dom
  13. Wow! I haven't seen Dorice since she left Perris last year. I didn't think she would still be at Deland. She is a bit of a wanderer. She definately likes to drink and party! I know you had a good time if you where hanging out with her. Does she still have that big ole car of hers? Dom
  14. Another thing that may help everybody when buying a new container is to just tell them what size canopies you are going to put in the container. I get a lot of calls from people that want "X" size container. Then they have canopies that aren't made to go in that container. Habe your dealer be specific about the canopy sizes and anything strange about your canopy (I.E. dacron lines). This way the manufacture decides what size container to make for you. Then if it doesn't fit you can always say "Hey. I told you what size canopies I had. Why doesn't it fit?" If you tell them you want an "X" size container then that is what you get. Dom
  15. I would be interested to know how this turns out for you Tanto. I have put a bunch of jumps on the Pilot as well and never had an opening take that long. I did jumps on 3 different sizes of Pilot and if I start my wave off at 3000 ft. I am usually in the saddle at about 2000-1900 ft., but that is with a big slow wave off before pulling. So it probably takes maybe 5-600 feet to open (for me at least). Also Mr. Anderson there brought up a good point about packing it. If you are rolling the nose..... don't. Leave the nose right out in front. I just let it go, don't even stuff it back in. Just let it go and wrap the tail. Hope you get it worked out. Dom
  16. Enough for this week! I am going jumping now! Blue Skies to you all. Make sure not to torture anyone this weekend. Unless they do it to you first! Dom
  17. I already saw my error there. I just saw the R at the beggining of his name and thought Homeland Security right away. I agree with this. He should be held accountable for the actions of those that work directly for him! Dom
  18. It's the "Homeland" part that makes me think of it that way. Just feels creepy to me. Dom
  19. OOPS! I stand corrected! I knew that! Still the statment I made about Bush goes for Rumsfled as well. Doesn't "Homeland Security" sound like some NAzi term or something? Dom
  20. Dude when you are dealing with issues such as this, I am sure at times one extra minute can make a big difference. We as people want to know the whole story right NOW! That is not always the best thing for anybody involved. Sometimes less is more. Dom
  21. Of course they will. First of all Rumsfeld is in charge of Homeland Security (I still don't like that phrase) So he is not responsible for the actions our soldiers take in a far away land. As far as Bush goes. I agree he is charge of our country. But should he pay for the willfull misconduct of a few idiots? If it is found that this is an established policy and these soldiers where following that policy set forth by the President, then yes he should be held accountable. You prove to me where that is the case with cold hard facts and I will agree with you 100%. Dom
