  1. Depends on how fucked up life's events are. When things are truly fucked up (like today, for example), I do what I'm doing right now. Get fucked up to excess and talk/IM with good friends who are also dealing with it until I can deal with it better. It's only thanks to a certain person that I'm here dealing with today at all. And dammit, not only is he not here to thank, he's why I'm all fucked up tonight. Wow. I only typed "fuck" four times. That's like a fuckin' record. Oh fuck. Now I'm up to like seven. I better stop while I'm fuckin' ahead...
  2. They can build a fixed wing or one with clips. Yes. Order a pair of the "RW separates" pants. They can also do the "RW separates" jacket with a wing instead of with grippers if you want a snugger fit through the torso than you'd get with the freefly jacket.
  3. JP, if it weren't for your love and caring when I was at the bottom of the well, I might not be sitting here trying to type through the tears right now. I'm not sure if that makes it easier or harder for me to deal with you leaving us now, but thank you. Aww sweetie. So many memories. So much laughter. So many hugs. So much love. I love you JP. Always will.
  4. Why must an I be a swooper to teach a basic canopy control course?
  5. More pics - 003 is the ridge on the other side of the valley, this time without the clouds 009 is Molly being an agility dog over one of the MANY treefalls on the trail. 013 - lupine on the side of the trail 014 is the back view of one fine hikin' chick 016 - more scenery
  6. Spent my b-day weekend hiking in a little known wilderness area in NorCal. We went 48 hours without seeing another human , although we did see (and carry out) too much of other people's trash. Put those together and you get the reason why I'm not gonna post where we were! Here's some pics - 007 is a madrone tree that got burnt in a fire a few years ago. The new bark looks like poured hot wax or plastic. Really cool. 015 is part of the cloud we were hiking into on the first day. 027 is Molly the watchdog at a lunch break. 032 is the view from the tent. 034 - New life from the ashes! A baby pine tree grows in the middle of a tree that burned down.
  7. Here's Molly kicking it in the tent on a recent backpacking trip.
  8. This may answer a few of your questions...
  9. Me. I've been wanting to get banned for years. I've even tried to get banned a few times. But I get no joy.
  10. We were thinking about Ventana Wilderness (Big Sur area) but it's pretty close to two major highways, which on the first weekend of May means it will likely be overrun by pests of the two legged variety. So we decided to go here instead. It's way harder to get to (45+ miles from a major highway, the last 15 or so on dirt Forest Service roads), which should translate into blessed solitude.
  11. I'll be chilling out in a place far, far away from dropzones, airplanes, telephones, computers, cars, roads... and (hopefully) people. That and turning 42. It won't be a bad day.
  12. Nope. "Somebody" is taking me on a b-day backpacking trip in Big Sur that weekend.
  13. You gots something against Messican food? I haven't been down there in a couple years but there was an excellent Italian place across from Amigos Tres, a decent Chinese buffet and an IHOP out toward WalMart and a Denny's close to downtown. Drive to Temecula (15-ish minutes depending on traffic) and you'll find every possible variety of food in the area surrounding the mall. I highly recommend the Brazilian bbq place there if you're a meat eater.
  14. I've been missing the convenience of having a cell phone lately. You've just given me an excellent reason to be happy I no longer have one. Thanks.
  15. Oh hell yeah. There's the bar where that guy got shot, the grocery store parking lot where that other guy got beat up (oh, wait, that was during the day, nevermind), and the liquor stores all carry multiple flavors of Mad Dog!
  16. Don't hit your head on a tree. That would be bad.
  17. Rental car. You don't want to be stuck at the Perris dz without wheels - while nearly everything you might possibly need is available on site you may decide to hit up Elsinore while you're down there (it's only 30 minutes away) and you don't want to pass up the chance to experience the wild nightlife that is downtown Perris. Okay, so maybe you do want to pass up that chance. Regardless, getting a car will be your best option - the dz isn't within walking distance of much of anything other than Bonehead's. btw, regarding rental cars - I had excellent luck with Budget at ONT a couple years ago. Reserved the cheapest car possible online; ended up getting a Mustang convertible for the same price.
  18. I first met Tom in Paso Robles back in 1990. He'd come along with the Otter from Perris for a weekend. I had around 20 jumps and was having an issue with fall rate. He gave me a bit of advice that solved my problem - and I remember that advice to this day. "Take a pencil. Put it between your shoulder blades and hold it there. Then put the pencil on your ass." A few years later, after moving to Perris, I met him again. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. And he gave great hugs. My condolences to Tammi and the rest of his family, both "blood" and skydiving.
  19. Cuz if you can't afford to use a $100 bill, you can't afford to do it!
  20. My paper is now due in 23 hours and 20 minutes. Are you done with it yet?
  21. I need someone to write the four page paper that I'm supposed to turn in 23 1/2 hours from now. The hard part is already done (and it's a GREAT title if I do say so myself!). I am picky though; it has to be good enough to get an A. I also need to make a skydive. So if anybody has a spare floating around, I could really use a new disc in my neck.
