What if you published that letter in the local press?
-
ah come on - I'm talking personal e-mails. Say the same content was sent via e-mail as opposed to pm - the 'correctness' of the act of posting it would not change merely because of the medium.
-
nah man I'm just ranting - too much coffee at lunch. We really are fighting over nothing if you look at it.
-
(sorry I missed this bit above) No I don't think there is any valid justification for posting a PM. I am perfectly capable of seeing why the recipient thought it might be however and thus acknowledge that in my post. It’s like recognizing a suicide bombers motives without actually agreeing with them.
-
I agree both are bad. You wished to discuss the second act - you did. You are quite within your rights to do so. I wished to discuss the first act - I did. I am quite within my rights to do so. Don't attack me because I simply made a post about how bad I felt the PM was. (ie with argument as opposed to personal). Notwithstanding the fact that one does not excuse the other I am quite capable of making up my own mind about which is worse. Judging levels of "worseness", fault and culpability and assisting with the decision of which attracts the greater scorn is a big part of my job, I'm quite comfortable with it. Two people guilty of crimes do not necessarily always get the same sentence. It is not my problem if you are not. I'm not distracting anyone. If you want to discuss the breach of nettiquet please feel free. I merely posted intimating that the PM was very poor class. It is just as much a valid topic as the breach of nettiquet which you wish to discuss. I don't care who started what - the acts, as you keep saying are separate. As such it's quite possible to have a conversation decrying the author of the PM for taking the action he did, quite separately from the disgusting breach of nettequet.
-
I don't think it matters if there is - neither are properly appropriate for public consumption without the authors consent.
-
I never said one did make the other ok - just committing the God-awful crime of thread drift (in this thread about French Riots). It seems crimes against Nettiquet are evidently considered to be the highest of crimes against society round here. At least initially he quoted the author as Jdutch - someone who doesn't appear to exist on here. Maybe he can avert continued scorn by editing his post?
-
I ask because I'm allowed to start side conversations. I don't have an issue, I didn't get the PM, nor did I post it. I don't think either act was brilliant but I personally think sending the PM in the first place is by far the worse 'crime'. One is a little infraction of nettiquet as payback for being abused. The other was an unprovoked and vicious attack that would earn the guy weeks sat in the corner were it done in public. In a way I'd be glad if PM's like this were given their place in public – it would show the world what childish pricks the authors were (not to say of course that this particular author is a childish prick – that would be a personal attack and as such prohibited). I do however find the whole situation highly amusing. Hence my laughter when the PM was posted. As for separating the issues - they are separately bad. They are also linked, being as they are one precipitated by the other. I don't see why on earth we are not allowed to comment on the first act (by some random decree of Rehmwa) and yet are perfectly entitled to discuss the second - nettiquet, in this thread supposedly about French Riots.
-
Nice one. How come he's not 'blooded'?
-
How much class does it take to start sending unsolicited, highly insulting and childish PM's to someone based on their comments in a thread to whcih you haven't even bothered to post?
-
Insults are only personal attacks if the subject is a poster. If JA signs up to the forums it'd all have to stop... till then anyone can call him a tard.
-
Don't mention burning bushes - he already thinks God talks to him direct he doesn't need any more 'signs'.
-
I wouldn't have concerns bidding on it as is. You could always check the serial number against the stolen/train wreck databases... but assuming it's just come back from Airtec it ought not be on one of them. If you go to Airtec direct I'm sure they can confirm it's life record, although I'm also sure they'll soon get sick of those kind of enquiries if everyone was doing it. Remember service dates run from the unit's birthday as opposed to date of last service. So this is due it's 8 year service next august. (I think that's right - maybe check up on here ). Battery dates however run from date of install so they'd still be good to Oct 07.

Yeah. Read the manual that comes with the motherboard IN DETAIL. This is going to be probably the trickiest part till you get to the BIOS settings. Tiny jumpers scattered across the board and fiddly little wires will catch you out. Other than that, whacking hard drives, optical drives (again watch for jumpers and primary/secondary drives etc) is easy; as is fitting things like memory, the processor, fans, and riser cards etc. So long as you cover all the bases it really isn't that hard... it's just knowing what bases you don't know about that will catch you out. I'd say anyone with good general manual skills, a dose of common sense and ok computer literacy should be able to do 95% of it no trouble. It's that last 5% you might be best off calling in a mate to help with if you get stuck. Otherwise really read those manuals - they ought to be able to help you out significantly. Oh yeah then setting up the BIOS... someone else's turn I think.

Wow - you mean Bush could be excommunicated as a heretic?

What are possible standards for measuring sqf of a HP canopy?
mr2mk1g replied to Falko's topic in Gear and Rigging
two of the differences I know of are: 1: top skin measurement vs. bottom skin measurement. 2: projected area vs. planform area See this post for a pretty concise explanation: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=161421#161421 -
I'm curious. What new right does this person think the court found that was not there before?

Ah, you're right - it is an adze... still, mattock is closer than axe. -
I seriously have got to be seeing a totally different page to you guys. There's definately nothing like that there - certainly not on the right hand side. I'll try again at home where I can lie about where I am in the world. On the upside though kutv's search engine throws up both the DZ.com skyride thread and http://www.1800skyride.org/ for a search on 'skyding scam'.

Is there a link to the story? I can't find one on the site you point to. cheers

Tell him you're a devoted Pastafarian and that he's going to Pasta hell for his heretical views about the One true God - the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Read up on this here: http://www.venganza.org/ ad here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster Send him copies of sacred documents detailing the creation of the world such as this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:FSM_himself.jpg Send him copies of the graphs proving how FSM'ism is a real force such as this one: http://www.venganza.org/piratesarecool4.jpg Then calm him down and explain how when you pushed FSM'ism on him he felt the same things you feel when he pushes Christianity onto you.

You realize of course, (because you're an intelligent individual who couldn't possibly be stupid enough to over look this fact), that all those statements are based on the same allegedly manipulated intelligence provided by the US intelligence community. So if that intelligence had been manipulated, all statements that stemmed from it would be flawed being as they are, based on that manipulated evidence. Now I'm not saying the evidence was manipulated - I personally have no idea. But posting examples of statements made on the basis of that same intelligence is simply tautological self-corroboration. There's a good reason self-corroboration is inadmissible in court - it is of zero evidential value and yet can confuse jurors with low IQ's.

News just in: Bush to create new Ministry of Credability. Concerned by reports that certain news stations are running biased and slanted news, the administration has set up a bureau to deal with the problem. From now on, this government body reporting directly to the president will determine which news sources are credible and which are nonsensical drivel. This move will settle forever debates based solely on whether or not a source is from a left or right wing slanted media outlet. Sadly this report emanates from a site which has yet to obtain its certification of credibility and must therefore be dismissed.
