I'd agree with that - the manual does not appear to have been written by someone who speaks English as their first language. I may well be wrong, but that’s just the “feel” I get from it and the style of writing.

Check the manual - that's where he heard it. The Wings manual says you can do either. I think it's because the D-bag is square end on whereas other rigs have rectangular profiles. That's just my guess though, but it's def in the manual. See here: http://www.skydivewings.com/Wings%20Owners%20Manual%2011-02%20Single%20Page%20Format.pdf Curiously it lists either packing with the lines against the backpad or rotating the bag so the lines are against the reserve pack tray.... isn't that the wrong way round? It's not how I've been doing it... Opinions?

Given that 1. "Football" came hundreds of years before "Socker", 2. "Football" is enjoyed by Billions of people as opposed to a few measley million people who like "Socker", 3. "Football" was named so by the people that invented the language, 4. "Football" is played in hundreds of countries whereas "Socker" is really only popular in one country, 5. "Football" includes so much kicking whereas "Socker" has far more to do with holding and throwing. Of couse the names are "Football" and "Socker". All those silly people who call them "American Football" and "Football" are just plane wrong.... or did I get confused and mix things up at some point? Besides, it's just Rugby for panzies...

It's my fault. I appologise to everyone. I saw the score at 88 minutes and thought: "Brilliant, just 2 minutes to go plus a couple for injury time and we've won". Sorry everyone, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up and ruined it for the nation. I should have known that in two short minutes of extra time the bloody frogs would have put a free kick and a penalty away. My bad.

Bear in mind that laws passed by the US govt may have very little impact on the issue in many situations. An international tribunal wouldn't care one jott if there was a law allowing (for example) torture under the US legal system, only what would be allowed under international law. Much of what went on in Nazi Germany was "legal" by national laws... that didn't stop prosecutions at Nuremburg. I'm certainly not comparing the US in Iraq to Nazi Germany, simply pointing out that these guys need to worry far more about the internation legality of their work as opposed to whatever national legislation there is.

Cool, there are 6 levels in total, the last one you have to defeat the devil himself. Then there's a final bonus level where you can kill as many mortals as you like in order to demonstrate your mighty power.

I just get to level 4 and can't stop killing angels. The trick is not how many people you kill individually, but rather it's the mass killings really get's the attention of the mortals.

How do I find out if a canopy will fit my container?

Use this chart http://www.georgiajump.ru/shop/canopy/canopyco.pdf Although helfully for some reason it lists only the silhouette 150 and 190 but not the 170. You'll see that the silhouette 150 has about the same pack volume as the PD170. Therefore I'd concluded that the silhouette 170 will be a little tighter in there than the PD170. That's not to say it wont fit, just that it'll be tighter if it does. Like others say, check with RWS or try it. If it doesn't work out you can bookmark the link and use it next time you find something. -
What surprises me is that their position is even unclear at law. Given that mercenaries predate standing armies by many hundreds of years, you would have thought there would be some kind of precedent.

I think when you board the plane you should be geared up enough to exit the plane in an emergency. This doesn't mean goggles and gloves etc, but it certainly includes rig and all straps. I don't care how many jumps you have but if you're in my way at 1000ft when an engine's on fire, the pilot's yelling at us to get the fuck off his plane and your pissing arround with leg straps; then you've joined the wrong damn club. I think people who re-tighten their shit at altitude are doing me no harm, but are hardly doing themselves any favours. Ie, they're not going to be able to arch properly with an overtight chest strap and their canopy isn't going to be able to open out fully and fly properly. If they want to make their dive suck it's no skin off my nose.
