I think it's a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. You can already link any bullet fired back to the gun that fired it. Admittedly this would allow you to have a database but hell - if I were a criminal I'd just make sure I "made" my own bullets... damn sure you wouldn't be able to tell they were simply bought out of state either.

haha - ok, they found a weapon. We can all stop arguing now.

The most sickening part of that whole affair is that the CIA has blanked out the names of all the American's and American companies that appear on the list.

I was referring to the UK Conersvative Party as a whole as opposed to the thoughts of any individuals. Their party line is to agree with the need to go to war and their stance in the run up to our election next year is not to question the decision. Of the major players here only the Lib Dems are running their election bid on the argument that the war was the wrong decision.
-
He's only dangerous and an imminent threat because he has WMD... no WMD, no danger, no threat.
-
Happy to amend to simply the fact that it was not a partisan issue - ie the official line of virtually all political parties was to agree that there were WMD.
-
They would have to chose Charles Kennedy, not Howard. The Conservatives don't question the war, only the Lib Dems.

I don't have a problem with the fact that this war was about WMD. I remember a lot of people agreed, indeed it wasn't a particularly partisan issue - most of the major political partys official line was that there were WMD. I note the fact that there were in fact no WMD. I recognise the fact that SH was an evil man in a dictatorship that should have been taken out in 1991. I don't have an issue with taking him out simply because of his regime. I do have a big problem that we are now being told that this is why we went to war. We didn't. We went to war to take out his WMD. The regime change is a bonus - not THE reason. I don't have a problem with the fact that it turns out that we only get the bonus - that's fine... as far as I'm concerned it's a job that still needed to be done. I do have a big problem with the fact that we are being lied to about how that was always the aim. That was not what we were told the aim was before we went in, it is not right to present it as so. I am annoyed that the administration on both sides of the Atlantic can't simply admit the fact that they were wrong. Blame faulty intel - fine... but the buck stops at the top. The buck stops with the people who arranged for that intel, interpreted it and chose to rely on it. Opposition parties can only vote on and agree with what they're told by the administration; they are not in charge of the intelligence community; they're not privy to the classified reports - they only know what the administration tells them. It is disappointing to see politicians still denying things we now know to be true. You will still not hear party officials say there was no direct link between Al Qaeda and Hussain. You will still not hear party officials say that there were no WMD in Iraq. We now know those things to be true – our administrations own reports conclude the same. But despite the conclusions of their own reports they still refuse to openly admit these things. That is a very sorry state of affairs.

Glass fibre has to be thicker to give the same strength as carbon fibre, so will be heavier. If you want lightweight go carbon. If you’re worried about weight remember that the biggest influence on the overall weight will be the camera model. It’s pointless going for a helmet that’s 2oz lighter than anything else if you then attach a camera that’s 10oz heavier than any other model. 2K comes in carbon fibre or glass fibre. One of the best helmets out there for build quality and design. Great cutaway system and free from snags. One of the more expensive on the market. Rawa is raved about. Doesn’t quite have the same build quality but is a nice helmet and owners love them. Has oodles of accessories as standard. Cookie composites looks very much like the 2K helmet. Again it has outstanding build quality – the designer has a background in pro race bike fairings. I think these are a blend of carbon and Kevlar. Hawkeye is the only one without a box over the camera as standard. It’s a nice helmet but didn’t fit my head at all well – try them all on because as with everything different helmets fit different heads.

First Front Riser Dive and Turns for A License
mr2mk1g replied to craig_b's topic in Safety and Training
I really didn't want to get into a big argument about giving advice. I just proffered a quick reminder that the sort of advice you were giving could potentially cause harm. I was not trying to criticise your advice - just reminding you to be careful when giving some on a technical aspect. Saying that the canopy wont colapse isn't that bad. It probably wont, but as I said, that's not quite the whole story. Half stories can be just as dangerous as the wrong story. I wish I could contribute more on the subject as you suggest but I don't feel sufficiently qualified to do so - not on this subject. See, reading or being told about it is one thing, but I have not had the real world experiance to be giving advice on such a technical aspect of canopy filgiht as whether or not a canopy will fold up during front riser input. Simply being aware that it can happen isn't enough to advise about it. That was my only point to you. -

I know he asked for opinions from various exp. levels, I was just saying be careful. You gave advice which I would not be comfortable giving at my level. Things which you do not know at your level and I'm still far from fully understanding. Just as an example from your short post, you say: "As for folding it in, dont worry, that shouldnt happen." Well it shouldn't... but that's not quite the whole story. Are you aware of how a canopy reacts to front riser input in turbulant air? Is he after reading your advice? If you are not aware of that you shouldn't be giving that advice. If you were aware then you probably wouldn't give that advice. You don't yet know what you don't know. Nor do I. Be careful, loose lips sink ships - your advice could kill someone even if you feel certain it's correct. -
No Weapons of Mass destruction! (real Shocker)

We found a lot of old knackered stuff buried in the dessert. Some of which we sold them. Bearing in mind chem./bio. Stuff has a very short shelf life even when stored correctly I would have to wonder how viable anything was if we sold it to them – that stuff had to be 20 years old at least. I remember seeing an argument on here about 10 or 11 rusted shells dug up somewhere. Hehehe – yeah, he could have deployed them in 45mins… and they would have been soooo effective. -

LOL But can you prove that? -
No Weapons of Mass destruction! (real Shocker)
mr2mk1g replied to goofyjumper's topic in Speakers Corner
That was never proven either... But at least there's a respectable official report concluding that. There is no report suggesting that there were WMD in country before the invasion. -

If the blond is thinking the condom used gives here 99% protection because the Surgeon General, her own doctor, the pharmacist, the packet and instruction manual and her school Sex Ed. class all told her that it would then I would support her. Which of us is the blond stood there believing something which everyone else tells them is wrong? -

I don't dissagree with what you say there... but that's not why we were told we were going to war, and that's not what we are being given now as the reason for going to war. We did not go to war because he was dicking with us, or kicking out the UN inspectors. We were told we were going to war because he had WMD. He did not. I accept that we thought he did at the time based on faulty intel and that is indeed regretable. There is a lesson inherent in that error. -
No Weapons of Mass destruction! (real Shocker)
mr2mk1g replied to goofyjumper's topic in Speakers Corner
Yup - he had them, and he used them. 1988... that would be before GW1... This report clearly states he has not had WMD since 1991 - no one is denying that he had them before that time though… but the report Bush commissioned says there were no WMD before GW2. -

Do you realise quite how much you sound like one of those conspiracy theory nut bags? This honestly isn’t intended as an attack or anything, but that really is how you are coming across right now. EVERYONE is saying one thing – together with all the politicians, statesmen and official reports… and you are saying the opposite. When you are right and everyone else is wrong perhaps you’ve missed something? -

no no no, don't be so silly. They're in a conspiracy with Elvis (who incidentally was the man on the grassy knoll) in a global plot to bring the world under Martian domination. -

I cannot fathom how anyone can possibly conclude that the absence of WMD in 2004 is "PROOF" that Saddam had WMD in 2001. That statement is quite simply bereft of any logic! Now once again, as the report specifically states – the absence of any WMD at this time, is a part of the wealth of evidence of the fact that he did not have WMD before the invasion and that he had not had since 1991. That is what the report says - no "ifs" no "buts" just plain and simple - Saddam had no WMD. It’s amazing that some people still want to argue that point. -

Safire 2 vs Pilot from Aerodyne
mr2mk1g replied to nicolesser's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I put the two canopies so close together their performance is very hard to guage... I loved jumping the pilot, I think that has to be one of the best canopy I've jumped to date. The safireII was the equal of it in every way and just as enjoyable to fly. Both have really powerful and wide flare bands but from reading reviews of far more experianced jumpers who really can swoop, the saffire appears to have a significant edge on swoopability. As that is something I'm interested in I'm leaning towards the safire... but I can't get over how nicely that pilot flew... I want to demo again. I guess it depends what you want to do with it. -
Those shots look cool. Any more info you're willing to let slip? You know skydivers are by nature information hungry... Oh yeah, one other thing... do you know what the military used to put in the tunnel??
