  1. Understand, thanks for the clarification.
  2. Attached are the Dutch Rules For Canopy choice. You might want to look though it. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. My guess is you lost some of your flexibility from the broken pelvis. Do some exercises to help get it back and be sure and keep your chin up. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. I would say your conclusions are wrong. Nothing in the setup of 270 or any other speed inducing turn makes it safe in the pattern. This has been proven over and over again. http://www.dropzone.com/fatalities/ Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. 1. If I find myself in a bad spot with a series of very confined outs, I don't see how a larger canopy would help me other than keeping me aloft for a little while longer. While that may be enough to get me out of the situation, it may be enough to keep me from landing because the canopy keeps flying instead of sinking into my landing area of choice. I'm also a dumbass for not checking the spot before I jumped. 2. If I'm flying my simple pattern and a pilot almost flies into me, my canopy has nothing to do with the situation, it's my lack of heads up. The only way the canopy size would come into play is if it prevented me from seeing the other jumper. Does that mean I should choose a smaller canopy to reduce my blind spot? Worst day & situation planning is good, but at what point is preemptive planning going overboard? An initial assessment of the situation on the ground, made with the help of instructors/coaches I trust, will help to prevent me from ending up in the worst case scenarios. In addition, choosing who I jump with and what kinds of jumps I participate in will help to ensure that I stay as safe as possible. To wrap it all up, the items you quoted is not my reasoning, but the steps I plan on taking to keep myself alive. You have 40 jumps now and already you have everything figured out. From your responses it is evident that you are only going to accept the advice that suits you. It would be to your benefit to get into a canopy course ASAP and study the flight characteristics of different canopy types. I wish you luck. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  6. Squeak, you are a sick puppy. I like that in a person. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  7. You really don’t know what it is you don’t know. As Ron said you canopy size may be alright but your understanding of canopies can get you killed on any size canopy. In most cases the bigger the canopy the less pain for any given screw up. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  8. It has been my experience that most women (I don’t run with girls) do not like other women. I am not sure if it is a competition thing or what. Women do not seem to make lifelong friendships with same gender like men do. I have also had many women as “friends” and find them to be excellent company and as loyal to the friendship as any male. I think part of the attraction is once both become comfortable with the relationship they can use each other as a sounding board for discussing the opposite sex. As someone posted the term “friend” tends to be overused but as Bill said if you restrict yourself to just one side of the coin you can miss a lot of heads or tails. Sparky. 9. For tracking this is a great way to wear an altimeter. Sparky http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp55/mjosparky/Skydiving/Wingsuit.jpg http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp55/mjosparky/Skydiving/mount1.jpg My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  11. Line drag is a factor to about 50 or so canopy pilots in the world. To the rest it is an ego thing. They could use 750 braided Dacron and it would not make a difference. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  14. Exactly the same for me. The only reason I made my second jump was because I had no fucking idea what happened on the first. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. Sgt.Sausage Yea you fucked up. And you got busted claiming to know more than the staff. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  16. As opposed to LZ? Sparky Maybe, this should be more accurately titled: "How many different places have you jumped into on purpose?" lisa Every place I have jumped was on purpose. Counting demos and regular dz’s, 300+ in 4 countries, 29 states out of 30 different airplanes and 4 helicopters. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  17. Anyone ever talk to you about downsizing to fast? From 252 to 180 is a big step. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  18. First of all don’t change my posts to fit your view of things. As I posted, your questions have been answered. It seems because they don’t fit your agenda of continued bashing of AirTec you ignore the answers. Because of yourself admitted lack of research into the documented facts of this incident your ongoing rants have lost any credibility. You started your tirade thinking there was a “report” that would back up your attack on Airtec. As it turns out a “report” was not filled out on this incident and you try to find a way to blame that on AirTec. Then you carry on about how AirTec lied about things. You made up statements and attributed them to AirTec. This is what they actually said. “A short email was sent to our dealer describing the incident by the DZO. It was reported that no one was injured.” It is quite clear that you have a personal axe to grind and that you are trying to do it without benefit of any knowledge of what happened. Do some research or just take the time to read the information that has been provided for you. To continue with your uninformed dribble is making you appear foolish. 19. Hey Sparky, You know what, I dont know what I am talking about. That is why I asked a question. I don't care if you don't like my question, you dont have to answer. Question has been asked and answered many times. I am sorry if you don’t like or won’t accept the answer. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  21. Should of, could of, would of. I think you are starting to see the point I am trying to make. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  22. There are no “minor malfunctions”. Unlike a round canopy a ram air with a problem will never get better, it will only get worse. From your posts it sounds like you were taught how to check for a good canopy and you disregarded at least one item. As a rigger with 30 years of jumping, 20+ years testing I long ago came up with a hard fast rule. I deploy, look up and make a quick decision if I can land it. If not it is gone. I won’t waste altitude trying to rig in the air. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  23. As I have said before, I don’t have a stake in this. I don’t own an AAD or have any financial interest in any of them. It is not up to me to try and discredit your knowledge on this issue; you have done a fine job of that on your own. An internet rank is not considered information. 24. Thanks for the lesson on how canopies work. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  25. You say you have “witnessed” Airtec lying. How about sharing with us what you “witnessed”. I asked you in another thread if you had read the report turned in by the DZO and you ignored the question. I suspect you haven't. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4146920#4146920 I have contacted APF and they have no record of a report being submitted on this incident. That is where the difference lies. No one can produce a report on this incident and it seems to injuries get worse with each telling of the story. The ban on Argus was the result of 4 well documented incidents in a period of a few months. Each related to the same thing. http://www.pia.com/TechnicalArgusDocuments/IncidentReports/Italy/Italy%20-English.pdf http://www.pia.com/TechnicalArgusDocuments/IncidentReports/Poland%20Report.pdf http://www.pia.com/TechnicalArgusDocuments/IncidentReports/Portugal%20Data.pdf http://www.pia.com/piapubs/ServiceBulletins/TEXASUSA211.pdf http://www.pia.com/TechnicalArgusDocuments/IncidentReports/Texas/SanMarcosPreliminary.pdf http://www.pia.com/TechnicalArgusDocuments/OtherDocuments/ArgusIncidentAnalysisRev1.pdf Is that enough “addressing the subject” for you?
