Intentionally Dropping Something in FF
mjosparky replied to jettero's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Duck tape it to an old bowling ball and ask the pilot to make a low pass over the target area, say 2,000 feet age. With someone good at spotting looking over your shoulder let it go. Just don't tape over the finger hole, they make the ball sound like a baby crying in freefall. It is perfectly legal, drop zones drop thing from planes all the time, they are called skydivers. A Real Friend Test!! A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears. A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names. A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book. A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean. A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed. A real friend asks you why you took so long to call. A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems. A real friend seeks to help you with your problems. A simple friend wonders about your romantic history. A real friend could blackma! il you with it A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest. A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself. A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you HAVE an argument. A real friend calls you after you had a fight. A simple friend expects you to always be there for them. A real friend expects to always be there for you! My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Then perhaps you shouldn't be so judgmental. Try to listen to what people are actually trying to say when they voice their opinions about somthing they dislike, in this thread we are talking about photographs in a magazine. You asked for advise on what to do and were given it. Fifth post in thread,"Did you write to USPA? Complaining here is pretty much a waste of time if you goal is to see it changed." You asked for peoples opinion of the covers and you got it. You should follow your own advise "Then perhaps you shouldn't be so judgmental." You started this thread being judgmental and negative. I think your profile is full of shit but like you said its irrevlent. What is revlent is your attitude that people on the site should all change to make your sorry ass happy. Wake up, look around, it ain't gonna happen. Unless you have something worthwhile to contribute, move on. Yes, I know who I am, it seems you are not sure who you are. Now there is your cover shot!!! Have you ever had the feeling you just missed a real good chance to keep your fucking mouth shut. I have jumped at Perris for over 28 years and don't know you from a rock. PD does not make a 120 reserve, busted. Sparky's my hero....I've gotta meet you one of these days!!!

Help me solve this Break off and track argument.
mjosparky replied to NicoNYC's topic in Safety and Training
No one is right if they are dead. Any plan you may have had went out the door with the change of exit altitude and probably had something to do with the base funneling. If this is a group you jump with normally, sit down and discuss what happened and develop plan "B" if this happens or that happens. Sort all this out on the ground not at break off. I would get out last and after exit peel off the the left and track 90 degrees to jumprun. Out last will put you up wind and turning 90 will keep you from going to far. Keep an eye on where you are and adjust as necessary. jmo Sparky I think you are going to find a track from 14 grand will kick your ass. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

If you are only tracking for 3-4 seconds you are getting very little distance. If thats all the time you have for tracking, try breaking off higher. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I have only heard other people talk about this stuff, I am not old enough to have been there myself. Hell, even if you got some for Christmas you would forget to put them on. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

Your rig is a"cut down" tandem only in certain areas. Some where on the harness, try a reserve riser, you should find the TSO lable. Not the big orange things, but a white one about 2" x 4 or 5". It should have the container size on it. Also try the packing/data card. Once you have the reserve container size, call, don't write the RWS. Tell them your problems and have them FedEx it next day air. Spark Kudos on handling the chop. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

The only reversable quick-fit adapter I know is the the light weight ones used on chect straps. It is rated at 500 lbs. And like I said, most hardware. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

The Classiflyer Top Secret, a piggy back rig from the late 70's, had a reserve that would sometimes total after you pulled the ripcord. You would have to reach over your shoulder and grab at the top flap to get it to come out. Knew one person that bounced on one, several who had totals and were able to scratch their reserves out. I had one total on the ground when I pulled it for repack. I guess that was the Top Secret, that the reserve didn't always come out. The old blast handle on reserve records had a few reports of people being having extremely hard pulls. Maybe a few cutaway-with-no-reserve-pull fatalities were caused by that, but we'll never know. The gear is a lot better today. I really don't worry about reserve totals too much anymore. -

Highest altitude/lowest altitude
mjosparky replied to airdweller's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Like I said, he fucked up and hit the ground. If he had intended to land the suit why was he wearing a rig? You make it hurt less by using a parachute. A landable wingsuit (jumpsuit) will not be seen in your life time. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Maybe on French rigs but most hardware on rigs made in the US is made in the US. Most likely in Fort Smith Arkansas. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
