And your law degree is from what night school? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Alpha Quals. can be more rigorous that TSO testing. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Agreed! The last time I visited RWS, Bill Booth grumbled that the military had tested Sigma tandems much heavier and much fast than civilian tandems, but they refused to share test data with the manufacturer. If you are the civilian contractor doing the testing, you get to see the data. But they get real pissed if you tell. We did one series of tests where the first out the door was a test item manufactured by company A and the next test item out the door was manufactured by company B. Both companies testing for the same contract. Makes for interesting after hours over beer conversations My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Have you ever read the manual? Disclaim All the commercialised Vigils (100%) passed all our various tests, technical inspections as our quality control. However, we can’t totally exclude any malfunction on Vigil. So, A.A.D. nv/sa declines any responsibility in regard to a slightest default occurred to a Vigil, which escaped detection during test. In other words, you buy it you own it. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Not without damage to the slider stop. Back in the day some garage canopies were made with a poker chip as a slider stop. These would often break allowing the grommet to slide over the stop. Today the stops are made of a stronger material and should not allow the slider grommets to slide over them. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Recent Para Commander Jumps?
mjosparky replied to freefaller76's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I’ll guarantee you he has not seen 25 for many years. He is just doing a little something to keep the past alive so you young pups will someday know where you came from. Skydiving didn't start with a sub-100 elliptical you know. Somebody made it possible for you to be where you are today. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash with Wylie Post in 1935, was probably the greatest political sage this country has ever known. Enjoy the following: 1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco. 2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day. 3. There are 2 theories to arguing with a woman...neither works. 4. Never miss a good chance to shut up. 5. Always drink upstream from the herd. 6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. 7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket. 8. There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves. 9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. 10. If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there. 11. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back. 12. After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut. ABOUT GROWING OLDER... First ~ Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it. Second ~ The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for. Third ~ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. Fourth ~ When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra. Fifth ~ You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks. Sixth ~ I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top. Seventh ~ One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Eighth ~ One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been. Ninth ~ Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable. Tenth ~ Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it's called golf And finally ~ If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old. Will Rogers My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I may be wrong but I don't think it is Terry's job to help you. Try downloading the SIM and study. It not like it is rocket science. When I was in college studying always made the test easier. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I think it is an issue. You have at least one jumper in the plane without a jumpable rig if there is a problem later in the flight. Depending on who interprets the regs. it may not legal to continue the flight with one jumper not wearing an “approved” parachute. Do they check to see if the bridle is routed correctly, if the PC is in the pocket correctly and any number of other things that should be checked in what is called a “pin check? Maybe they are smarter than you are. Jumping a PD-176 reserve at 240 pounds out the door with you very limited experience is not the smartest choice you could make.

Intentional cutaway: advisable? accessible?

QuoteBTW, the main that I chopped from was an old military C-8; ever heard of one of them? Jerry, Isn't a C-8 basically an all white C-9? I think the C-8 is a -1 of the same type and C-9 is the -2. I think. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
USPA and FAA role in parachuting accident investigation and reporting
mjosparky replied to DJL's topic in Safety and Training
You may be right, but I have never seen a report generated by the FAA on a skydiving fatality that did not involve AC operations. If you can remember who said or posted that see if they have a link to more information. -
I agree with both statements. It is not worth the fuel and time savings to continue with the flight if there is a gear problem on the plane. Rigging should be done in the loft not in the air. I have seen too many people give a “pin check” and have no idea what they just saw. There are very few people that I feel comfortable with screwing with my gear in the plane.

Is Exiting A Small Door Beech A Lost Art?
mjosparky replied to steve1's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I believe that was Terry Dean that died with Dave. I am talking about Terry "Twitch" Ward. -
I tend to agree. USPA is no longer an organization representing the individual members. It has become a “trade association” for DZO’s. Things that are in the best interest of the buyer are not always in the best interest of the seller. Why would we as buyers what the sellers to represent us. jmo My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Not to long ago I post that I had dropped my digital camera and did anyone know if it could be fixed. Well next thing I know I have a new camera in the mail form a DZ.comer that lives on another continent. You want to talk about a crusty old man with a lump in his throat and wet eyes. People like that are very special. Thank again my friend.

Mike, What is pathetic is that regardless of how many positions are contested on the ballot they will be decided by less then 10% of the membership. Sad. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

This will be the last time I will reply to one of your posts, Do you seriously think anyone that posts here wants to see you fail? You posted a question, you were the one seeking advice. When you get advice from qualified people, in this case an attorney, you give them shit because it is not what you what to hear. You call me out in a public form and then bitch about me posting a link. The purpose of the link was to show that there is a pattern to your little tirades. Are you embarrassed by what you have posted in the past? Trust me, I am not in the least concerned about gaining or losing status. Status is fleeting. The only thing important in this game we play is gaining knowledge. Knowledge will keep you alive when all your status is failing. If status is your thing, acting like a mature adult will go a long way to improve your status. Part of being mature is accepting well meaning and freely given advice from others. You don’t have to follow it but having the common courteously to not throw a tantrum over it will always improve your staus. If you plan to continue jumping you had better care because with your present attitude very few others will. This is just my opinion, take it or leave it. USPA and FAA role in parachuting accident investigation and reporting
mjosparky replied to DJL's topic in Safety and Training
If there is a fatality at a USPA affiliated DZ the S&TA is charged with filling out and submitting an “Accident Report” form to USPA. (see link) USPA takes the form and “sanitizes” it and publishes that version in Parachutist. The Accident Report in its original form is not available to anyone. If there is a fatality at a non USPA DZ or other venue, there is very little chance of there being an “official” report made by anyone other then local law enforcement and the coroner’s office. To the best of my knowledge the FAA does not make an official report on skydiving fatalities that do not involve an AC incident or major violations of FAR’s.
