    Yes it does. There was a design competition between ParaFlite and Irvin for the ATPS to replace the T-10. During the program Airborne Systems bought both companies for something like $10,000,000 but it guaranteed them a contract for about $40,000,000. This is the Irvin design during a test jump on the proposal cover sheet and a couple of drop tests.     Hell, at our drop zone we do that all day long every week. We even have special rigs built specifically for it. And check this out; we (the experienced jumpers) wear the chutes, and we get whuffos who've never made a jump in their lives to do the chuteless Mr. Bill part. They show up in droves, and here's the really cool part: they PAY us for it!!     Well of course PD is going to prefer the Slinks over other methods. They make and sell them. I should have said that I have never heard of a Rapide like fail that was properly installed. Some say the slinks are stronger, I don’t know. I have never tested them and have not seen any test results. If they are installed correctly and checked once in awhile they will outlast the rig.
