  1. What plane are we talking about? The Skyvan by Short Bros. or the Caravan by Cessna? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Skyride doesn't ask they just use them. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. I seem to remember that method being taught to students back in the day. Students were first out and since there were not seats or doors it gave you something to work on during the lighting like climbs to altitude. Sparky P.S. When you are looking at the ground look at cars and houses. They are always about the same size. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. Seems like he used to go by the name Charles Mack. http://www.chutingstar.com/archives/00000060.html Go down to the last paragraph. I remember a couple of years ago there were some posts on here about him ripping off people. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. Actually there are more than 3. You have nylon, Dacron, spectra (microline is a brand name for spectra), vectran, HMA and Kevlar. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  6. Have you ever jumped it? And of course the DZO would have no vested interest in selling the canopy. I guess I am cynical because I have seen so many low time jumper taken advantage of you those that should be looking out for their interest. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  7. With all this talk about the proper size stow bands, the length of the stows, double wrapping, proper tension and on and on makes me wonder how a reserve ever makes it to full deployment with the ridiculous way the lines are stowed. And OMG the close the bag with non-breakable closing loops. Skydiving myths are alive and well. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  8. Without knowing what type of lines it is hard to say what size stow bands to use. I would suggest you ask rigger and have him explain the reasons for the different stow band sizes. Chute Shop is now called Parachute Systems and they to not make a ZP.Exe in a 155. They do make a 150 sq. ft. one though. This is a rather obscure canopy, is there any particular reason you bought it? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  10. It never went anywhere. This is just the last couple of years. 11. OK now I understand. If the rest of Dutch BSR's are written to the same level of confusion you guys must have a hell of a time just getting on the plane. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  12. And where did you pick up this piece of information? http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=14291990 Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  13. It isn't just Aerodyne, several manufactures are now calling for it. And none of them are very clear on what it is they want. http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/cms/forums/viewtopic.php?f=97&t=17262 Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  14. Mark, You need to back off and settle down. You know and I know you can handle this in a more productive manner. Right now you are hurting your own case. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. At first I thought a 135 may be a little aggressive for your jump numbers but then I looked at your profile. Really? A 119 loaded at over 1.6 at about 250 jumps? OK. Hell he's jumping a reserve loaded a 1.61 which puts it only 35 lb. over max. No problem he can handle it. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  16. 65.129 Performance standards. No certificated parachute rigger may— (e) Pack, maintain, or alter a parachute in any manner that deviates from procedures approved by the Administrator or the manufacturer of the parachute; or This part is also vague but if the manufacture says do a porosity test when certain conditions exist they I would say to pack it without doing the test, or having it done, would violate 65.129. jmo Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  18. Go to this link and scrool down to "Reserve Manual". It shows a flat pack. Sparky http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/cms/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=272&Itemid=243 My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  19. And that can happen to any reserve on the market today. The smaller the canopy the faster the fill time and the greater possibilty for it to happen. In the case of a reserve "bigger is always better". Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  20. This whole thread is starting to border on the ridiculous. Since no one can see into the future we will have to wait and see how this plays out. All the weeping and whining in the world is not going to change how things are now. After the Nationals and there are facts to deal with would be a better time to discuss it.
