  1. John, Sure hope he doesn't have a problem under canopy, he will go in talkiing it to death. Sparky And kicking does help with line twists, I have done a time or 2. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Did you order that jumpsuit that way or did they fuck up the order? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. i dont disagree, but i thought the tunnel was ideal for finding that straight down belly position. Take away the walls as reference and then fall straight down. Tunnel time is an execellent training tool but not a replacement for freefall. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. Then how does a diver increase his speed, stop the twist, go from a tuck to a pike position? How does a gymnast do all the movement during a floor exercise? I think you might want to reconsider John’s explanation of angular momentum, he might know something about physics. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. Back in the day I repelled out of a Howard DGA. Took 2 raps around the wing strut and handed the end to the pilot. Snapped in with figure 8 plate and away I went. The idea was to play super man for awhile and then repel off the end. On landing the pilot could let go of the rope and it would fall clear. Well that was the plan. When I came off the end of the rope the loose end beat the crap out of me and left me with a split lip. When the pilot let go of the rope it stayed with the plane and turned into 125 feet of garbage. Sometimes it not your day. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  7. That answer is just as annoying to hear as the question Something like responding to a thread that is 18 or so months old. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  8. AS8018-B!! ....sorry but but it isn't AS8015-B A typo, my mistake. But evidently it was clear enough for you to understand what I was talking about. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  10. Both types of flying require the same thing of the jumper, deflecting air to move your body and control your fall rate. You say VSD is more dangerous, that is because it is being practiced by so many inexperienced jumpers. Anything in is skydiving is dangerous and when it is done by inexperience people that just adds to the danger. As far as 6 D lic jumpers and 2 new guys, that depends the experience of all involved. They recently completed a 107 way VSD formation which indicates it can be done and done safely. I know a couple of the people on that dive and they have also been involved in big way, 100 or more, belly formations. The point I am trying make is just because it is the type of jumping you have chosen to do does not make it bigger, bader, and any more difficult to do well. The key phrase is “doing it well”. It all takes practice and experience. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  11. What is it that makes it so much more challenging? That should be easy to explain. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  12. This is a real poor quality video but it gives you an idea of an old school 10 man exit. Sparky http://s397.photobucket.com/albums/pp55/mjosparky/Skydiving/?action=view¤t=DSCN0182.mp4 My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  13. Please explain what armor was worn, I hadn't heard about this before. I usually flew 6 or 7 and wore a hard knee pad on my left knee and a field hockey shin guard on my left forearm. Once the exit started there was no stopping it or even slowing it down. If one part of your body made a habit of hitting part of the plane on the way out you would come up with a way to pad that part. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  14. You have 75+ jumps, you haven’t gotten in too much but you already know it’s not much of a challenge. Maybe you could explain just what it is that makes VSD/free flying so much more challenging than belly flying. It there some magical thing you do to move your body around? The only thing I have ever noticed as being different is the jumper’s orientation to the relative wind. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. Original 10 man rules were no show, no grips, and no protests. And the first 2 out had to be base/pin. As for dangerous, you ended up wearing more pads than a hockey team. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  16. Wrong, there have been thousands of jumps made with m/c helmets. This is a picture of the guys that built the first 10 way and they are all wearing a m/c helmet. Sparky http://www.flickr.com/photos/53825637@N06/5127729346/ My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  18. Yeah, it's just so action packed! You go to one place, you stay in one place, you go back out again... You should try it, it is harder than you think. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  21. It seems that in recent years, last 10 to 15, the shift in law suits has been toward “deep pockets” as in anyone remotely involved that has money. Most independent riggers would not make an attractive target for such a suit. The manufactures and DSO’s that have something substantial to lose I would think have done everything possible to reduce their exposure. Like you said, just some thoughts on the post. 22. This is what AS8018-B has to say about it. Sparky 5. 24. Money, lots of money! The upcoming Texas state record, 160, will cost $53 a jump. And if I remember right the recent 200 ways at Eloy were about $70+ per jump. Of course that includes a plane ride with each jump. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Or, I can come to your DZ, pull below 500 feet, and that way you will look like a conservative jumper. You the man. Can I be on your ash dive? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
