Me neither. The good news for me is that the Great State of Delaware consistently votes Democrat, and by a large margin. GWB won't miss my vote, Badnarik will appreciate it. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

*sigh* Didn't the bi-partisan 9/11 Commision also conclude that Bush was fed poor intel? It's not as though it's a conspiracy. As far as the economy - things were bound to slide after the dot-com-bust, there was nowhere to go but down. I don't know that I blame Clinton for that, but it's not fair to place all the blame on GWB either. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

What was it that changed your mind? Not trying to start another debate here, I'm just curious. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

True, but some people need the ARM to keep the payments down. I don't know about most, but at least some are bound by terms. For example, I've got a 5 year ARM that can never go up more than 2% per year (after the 5th year) and has a cap at the original rate + 6%. It made sense for me. Make sure with whatever loan you go with that there's also no penalty for paying the entire loan early. I know a few people who get royally screwed if they pay the mortgage off early. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Stolen shamelessly from JDFreefly: If stupid didn't hurt, people wouldn't learn. I think there's a lot of truth in that. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

In this case, what does the source matter? It is news, maybe not front page, but it is news. Kerry dressed up in the bunny suit, Kerry had his picture taken, people are upset about it. As the subject says, Big Fuckin' Deal - but it is news. As far as the Drudge Report goes, don't discount them - it was (IIRC) the Drudge Report that broke the Clinton/Lewinski scandle. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Two events, 9 years apart, and they felt the need to disarm the ENTIRE population. There's something not right about that. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Of course there hasn't. The incident you speak of was the exception, rather than the rule. There likely wouldn't have been a repeat of that no matter what the current law. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

When I was in college my roommate's cousin took the ASVAB. He failed it. Twice. Too stupid to swab the deck. I imagine that you'll do well. He was pretty stupid. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Here we go: I'd love to see someone call him on this one. Hell, he's got the money, and I'm guessing some free time. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

It's been in the press before that the train cops in Boston were going to be doing things like this (at least I think it has). Hell, there might even be a thread or two burried here or in TB about this very issue. I think it's just getting more attention due to the DNC being in town. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Was it important to mention that he was black? You don't know who was searched before or after the photo was taken. Was he the only one with a bag large enough to search? I agree though with your statement about warrantless searches. Bullshit. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

A flap that stays closed is better for freeflying. I have no doubt that the flap on my Infinity will stay where it belongs during any skydive. That thing is tight, it isn't going anywhere. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Assuming that both canopies have the same trim (not an unreasonable assumption, I think) and have the same suspended weight, should airspeed even been an issue? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Playing devil's advocate on this point, but I'd guess that the answer to that one would be that guns are designed to kill people, cars are designed to transport people. Funny then, that when under the control of civilians, one kills significantly more people, isn't it? Edited to add the reference to civilians with guns. It's not fair to include the military forces of the world, this thread isn't about them. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Defense of one's self, like criminals in possession of handguns, is an issue unrelated to law. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Arrgh! I can't pick more than one? You're killing me here! Since I can't vote more than one I've decided to list them: Favorites are: IPAs - The more hops the better Scottish Ales - Can't get enough of that smoked flavor Porters - Full of roasty goodness. Could you honestly explain that to the parents of that 16 year old boy. I think an argument can be made that guns can create a dangerous environment. Guns can't (they are, after all, inanimate objects), people can though, there's no question about that. But yelling "fire" in a crowded movie theatre WILL create a dangerous environment. There's no question about that. Putting guns into the hands of law abiding citizens, what's the problem with that? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Then how come there is not a big national organization lobying to allow people to yell FIRE in a crowded theatre. Is freedom of speech not also one of the basic rights? Yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre infringes on the expectations of those in the theatre to be safe, it creates a dangerous environment. Allow law abiding citizens to carry guns in public does not infringe on my right safety, or yours. It wouldn't be difficult to make the case that it actually makes us both safer. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
