Good point. Hmmm.... Maybe now is the time to explore the fine art of blackmail? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Wow. I was pretty sloshed when I posted this last night, but here goes. While out with some coworkers for drinks (many drinks) last night, an older woman who is well connected inside my company (and married) made a significant pass at me, she grabbed my unit and asked me to come back to her office with her. While she held my manhood in her hands, playing with it, I was running through a thousand different scenarios, most of them involved me sleeping my way to the top, easy money, etc.. etc.. etc... In the end I couldn't do it. Now I'm worried that declining the invitation might have negative repercussions at my job. She was pretty cool to me today in a few emails that we exchanged, she acted like nothing happened. Hopefully we can leave it that way. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. We're out there, just have faith. My damn morals may have just made my job significantly more complaicated. Ugh. We'll see in the coming weeks how things go. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Do you think they're worth anyting? Can I sell them? Maybe on EBAY? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I think that time depends on the beer you're drinking. Age certainly doesn't do anything for BudMilloors, except make it more putrid I suppose. On the other hand, time does wonders for high gravity and highly hopped ales. Green, or young, beers tend to have many distinct flavors, all standing out, not melding nicely. The same brew, aged a while (how long depends on the beer) will still posess all that flavor, but the flavors will have mellowed and melded nicely. Just like fine wine, fine beer needs some time in the bottle. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Wouldn't getting a loan to buy skydiving gear be like getting a loan to feed your crack habit? I'm doing my best to pay for everything skydiving related in cash (I'm also jumping 5 year old gear that I'd prefer not to be jumping ). - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. I can answer 'no' to that question if you change it to read like this: - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Well, I've been drinking all damn day. What did you expect? It's not like there's anyone here to keep me out of this sort of trouble. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I can safely answer "no" to this one! Me too! I quit associating with higher companions years ago! I like it down here! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Dude, chill out. I'm serious about that. It's packing, it isn't rocket science. If you are reasonably careful with your technique then the odds are in your favor that you'll be just fine. Next time you are at the DZ, look around at other people packing. It's likely that you'll see people taking less care packing parachutes that are more likely to malfunction than yours. Remember, they were designed to open. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Problem is that a mead requires multiple rackings in order to clear. Additionally, honey doesn't ferment nearly as vigorously as grain. I think that it's difficult to make a pure mead, there aren't any additional flavors to hide mistakes. That doesn't mean it's impossible though, the mead I had was my coworkers first shot at it and it was perfect. Fruit or not? I suppose that depends on what you like. I'm something of a purist, but I'm intrigued by the Barshack Ginger Mead in Papazian's first book. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Are you sure it's the power supply? Every time I've gone to quiet a noisy PC I've found that it's the CPU fan making all the noise. Find a way to slow that fan down (hint: think bigger, more efficient fan) and you'll be golden. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

A guy I work with brewed (I think made is more accurate since he didn't use heat at all) a mead that turned out wonderfully. It was a sweet, still, mead with nothing but honey, water, yeast, and a very little bit of acid blend. I've considered whipping up a mead myself, but I don't enough equipment to tie up a fermentor for 6 months or so. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I agree. Maybe if someone could capture the screams, and the crying, and the horrified looks of the witnesses of the accident, maybe that might help to pump up the realism level. Just a thought. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I was having trouble with my landings a few years ago and this little rambling by Dan Preston made a lot of sense to me. Maybe it will help you too. balance & canopy control exercises...... Edit: I use the ideas presented in Dan's post every time I demo a new canopy. It helps. It really does. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
