Wierd. I didn't know that Spectra was an option on the Safire. Learn somethin' new every day. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Thread creep, I know. How does Vectran get that much out of trim? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Actually, I don't have a lot of faith in either. I do feel that people who can't figure out the difference between a good cop and a bad cop are (a) in the minority, and (b) too dumb to worry about. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I think that people are intelligent enough to realize that not all cops are bad cops, and that not all cops are good cops. A story like this will, IMO, bring to light the facts that some cops are a little less trustworthy than others. If some cops don't like this then maybe they shouldn't just turn their heads when they see it happening. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he knows that too, and probably a lot more. What I'd like is for Chris to share some of that information. Fair enough? You've provided a good start right there. I would have been happy with the general flight differences between the two, but now that you've provided the groundwork for additional questions, yes, I'd like answers to those as well. I am sure that I'm not the only one who would like to know. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Chris, You've been asked twice now, a simple question, what's the difference between the 21 and the 27 cell Xaos. Both times you've avoided answering the questionl; one time you suggested that Clay come on out to the WFFC and demo them, the second time you suggested that it's safe for a heads up canopy pilot to go ahead and jump one. You're leaving me wondering Chris, do you even know the difference? If you do, why won't you tell us? Why the evasive answers? I really am looking forward to hearing the differences as explained by the resident Xaos expert. Thanks, Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Agreed. However sometimes we forget about good judgement anyway, when we do, it's nice to know how to react in such a way as to limit the punishment we have to take for our lack of good judgement. No? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Scary. Anyhow, how about for people who aren't going to Rantoul, but are just curious about the differences between the 21 and the 27 cell canopies. What's the difference? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I wondered when this would come out. Come on people, it's all about flying your canopy all the way to the ground. Fly your canopy, you need to be in control, not just along for the ride. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

WTF? The maximum allowable by law to repair? You people actually allow the state to create laws such as this? That's absurd. That's wonderful, your tax dollars at work. Again, I'm so happy I don't live there. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I saved myself either a reserve ride or a low pull over the weekend when I found my PC handle jammed into the BOC on a routine handles check. They do work. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Or... You might be tempted to make the next generation 9 cell elliptical, something that might compete with the Crossfire2. Just maybe you might. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=552634#552634 - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

What would you say if I told you that the Navigator you probably used at some point in your AFF training was an elliptical canopy? Honestly, I don't think any of the major manufacturers are producing 'square' canopies anymore, they all seem to have some degree of taper. Back to the subject at hand, yes, I think in this case that the Lotus is a fine canopy for a beginning pilot. Brian Germain (the owner of BAS and designer of the Lotus), in my experience, is fairly conservative. If he says that the Lotus " is a versatile airfoil that will please both conservative experienced skydivers, and newer jumpers looking for a safe canopy. ", then yes, I think this is an appropriate canopy for someone with 20 jumps. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Some of my personal favorites. You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer. --Frank Zappa Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut. --Ernest Hemingway Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me. --Winston Churchill Sir, if you were my husband, I would poison your drink. --Lady Astor to Winston Churchill Madam, if you were my wife, I would drink it. --His reply He was a wise man who invented beer. --Plato Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time. --Catherine Zandonella A woman drove me to drink and I didn't even have the decency to thank her. --W.C. Fields If God had intended us to drink beer, He would have given us stomachs. --David Daye Work is the curse of the drinking class. --Oscar Wilde The problem with the world is that everyone is a few drinks behind. --Humphrey Bogart Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world. --Kaiser Wilhelm I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer. --Homer Simpson All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer. --Homer Simpson Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. --Dave Barry I drink to make other people interesting. --George Jean Nathan You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on. --Dean Martin - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. On a canopy with Vectran lines? How out of trim can it be? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Betsy, this sounds a lot like you're echoing Bryan Burke's "all Nationals should be held at Skydive AZ" line. Are you? How does that serve the membership? Yeah, that's neat Betsy, but what does it mean? Nothing personal, but that's line that everyone's been spouting for as long as I've been in the sport (longer than some, less than most). It means nothing. What do you really want out of the USPA? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
