I only knew Beezy from a few phone calls, when I was directed to him for some newbie counseling (way back when). He made the introduction into this sport very inviting and treated me like I was already family. Then to read his helpful (and sometimes humorous) posts here over the years solidified that this family was indeed the place to hang out, dysfunctional as it is... We'll miss you Beezy! It's got the two vital components - caffeine and alcohol. As long as you have enough to get to and maintain "set point" all day, you're good to go. Am I a wuss? I'm sure y'all have be keeping abreast of the SoCal fires this week. Well the smoke is still in the air and I'm keeping myself at home. Haven't been to the DZ in a couple weeks, but don't want to plug up the lungs with stuff as thick as 'coal miners dust'. So, sitting here at home, wondering how to spend the day...indoors. Very interesting read. Thanks for doing this homework. Normally this would be acceptable for an upright business. However, in the case of SkyRide it's just sad. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

During Katrina, Perris flew their DC-9 down to help with transporting anything needed. -
Voluntary evacs from Highland (down the hill from the Arrow Bear fire). That's still about 10 miles from my house, and where it burned back in 2003. My poor dog is a bit disoriented, what with just getting back from surgery (lipoma) and an Elizabeathan collar to funnel her vision...plus all the smoke. Poor baby. The winds have shifted a bit tonight, instead of coming from the North, it's flowing from the Southeast. Don't like being on the 2nd story of a building and looking out, but ladders are okay for me. As long as I can hold on. Trees, now that's another thing! Story about a ladder and doing yardwork last year. I climbed part way up a ladder to get into a garbage can to stomp the leaves and branches down (so I could get more inside). The garbage can started to tip, and went over...I did the best PLF ever...got up, unharmed, and thanked skydiving for saving me from injury.

Didn't see the one in San Bernardino when I drove home this evening. Guessing they got it out already.
