I found this statement a bit unsettling: "Cabernet Sauvignon, for example, is best when paired with "music of darkness" — thanks to the ability of rage-filled songs to smooth out similarly aggressive tannins" I like a good Shiraz with Rachmaninov. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Are you aware that the PC3 is a PAL video camera? Here are the stats: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DCR-PC3-DCRPC3-Digital-Camcorder/dp/tech-data/B00004WHWD/ref=de_a_smtd ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Interesting theory. I know music can alter one's mood, but was intrigued that it goes with different wines as well. What is your match? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16372623 ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Research: Skin Cells + Genetic Cocktail = Stem Cells
ltdiver replied to ltdiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Is the new technique for generating stem cells showing the telomerase length/activity issue (the early aging cause) that was observed with Dolly and other early clones? I'm sure they're working on it. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Another reason to ask for a flight....I think our buffer can take a bit more time than that...

This Video looks like fun.

You mean THIS ONE? OK, now I get it... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Just to clarify. You've been shooting with a still camera and now you want to go video camera? Are you putting the camera in the wind, or just shooting from inside your plane? What's your planned application of said video? You see, since you posted this in Bonfire, you'll get all kinds of fun answers. However, us cameraflyers occasionally click in here as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes, I saw that. However, when I e-mailed back and forth with them (after PIA) they assured me that they'd have different size shells. Since they were still in the prototype phase it may be that they were speaking prematurely. I've just e-mailed them and will post what they say when I receive a reply. It's Thanksgiving, so most likely the earliest will be next week. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Good question. I'm sure it does, but it'd be nice for them to mention it... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps they're still adding to the page. If you notice, the clickey for the sizing chart is missing from the Vapor Wes Pro, but it's on the Narrow's page. Now for the question I asked them way back when. Is the helmet just one shell, with foam fillers to make up the different sizes, or do they have different size shells? I ask, because I have an small head and don't want all that foam expanding and contracting going up to altitude and back down. Can you imagine resizing an XL down to an XS size! All that foam! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I've been clicking on their web site ever since seeing DSE's PIA videos, in hopes that their new Vapor helmet would be released. I clicked today and walla! It's there! What a beautiful helmet! http://www.skysystemsusa.com/helmets/camera_helmets.html Now to save up my pennies (again). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Research: Skin Cells + Genetic Cocktail = Stem Cells
ltdiver replied to ltdiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Do you -really- want another you running around? Also, do you know that the rate of cell growth when trying to clone an entire 'someone' is very rapid. So, even if they are able to clone an entire being it'd be dead before the original would expire anyway... Example: Dolly the sheep. She only lived 6 years. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Research: Skin Cells + Genetic Cocktail = Stem Cells
ltdiver replied to ltdiver's topic in Speakers Corner
An exciting genetic study was published today from 2 different independent research teams. Dr. Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University, and Junying Yu of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While others were pushing for embryonic stem cell research to be funded and followed, these scientists took another path. One that does not include having to harvest embryos, but only your skin! http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16470482 Looks like the ethical controversy may soon be over. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Perhaps it just all a big conspiracy to get everyone to watch the presidential primaries. That's going to be a 'casualty' in the making as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

So right off the bad you've strayed from 'Red Line's' counsel. btw, so do we.... Or perhaps you guys fall -really- -really- slow (birdman?) in that thick British air? Thought the rules forbade head down flying for this competition. Only sit and head-up stuff is allowed to join the 'flatties'. btw, nice little icons on your web page there. Why can't -we- have animated ones here? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Interesting differences between your 8-way 'speed star' competition and our 10-way. (USA's). 1) Your 8-way only has to do 7 grips to complete? What, does someone have a hand missing? Or is your 'speed star' a bit different than ours (open grip)? 2) Your exit altitude (either 9,000' or 7,000 if you tell the meet director) allows for a penalty of 50 seconds? Egads, where are you guys deploying? If my calculations are correct, you only get 41 seconds freefall from 9,000 and 29 seconds from 7,000...if you deploy at 2500' with a freefall speed of 120mph. Where's break-off at? Ours is 40 seconds (max) penalty from 11,000 exit altitude. 3) Your working time is calculated with the 2 seconds manditory hold included in the score. Ours is a 5 second stipulated grip hold, but it's -not- added to the time. 4) What, you still have a cameraflyer pool? I'd be very interested exactly when this 8-way speed star competition had it's debut there in jolly 'ol England. Perhaps somewhere around the year 2,000? LOL. Thanks for the 'cross the sea education. Nice to see ya'll enjoy a bit of fast flying...

Although I didn't get to meet and know Scott like the rest of you expressing your love and loss here, I wanted to say 'thank you' to Scott for serving our country and being the beautiful example of how to make this world a better place. What version are you using? Did a quick search in the Apple discussion forums and found this.
