I'm envisioning two cars colliding, bouncing off each other's plastic exteriors, coming to a stop, and all 4 sides just hinging away to the ground...with the family still seated there, driver still holding the steering wheel in the air. Guess I watch too many cartoons.... Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

One summer I spent a few weeks at a friend's house (while my folks were on a vacation). This friend's parent had a Pinto. I thought it was the coolest car EVER. This was '76 IIRC. Of course I was all but 12 years old, and in to horses and everything... ;^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Edison already offers a credit to those who allow a radio-controlled regulator to be attached to your heater/air conditioner unit. On HIGH peak days they can turn off your unit from their home office (and give you a large credit for doing so). This is only during peak hours M-F when I'm at work anyway, so no harm/no foul. I've actually ran in the black (they owe me money) during the summer when they active it. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

And keep your receipt. I had a battery start to go bad on my car, took it back to the auto store where I bought it (with the receipt), and got a new one for only $6.

Singed a bit where we...? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

But then you wouldn't be post-whoring here and making us all feel better about how -our- day is going so far... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Did either of you actually do any work on the engine, or just each other?

As I wrote in the other thread, my college boyfriend owned a Mazda RX2. Yellow. It belched BLACK smoke when you started it. We would hide down below the windows when it did this, then peek back up to see if anyone saw before we'd head off down the road. When I took an "auto engine rebuilding class" it was decided we'd rebuild the Mazda. Couldn't lose, right? Rotary engine and all. Had the most fun dismantling and rebuilding the thing. Grease up past our elbows many nights until 10pm when the prof said we'd have to leave for the evening. Ah the memories. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Actually I -just- found this out last night doing a little more internet research. Another check down and a few more to go. I've sent out requests for a few quotes. We'll see what happens. I might still go with a tank system (cost) but tankless sure sounds nice. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

http://www.forbes.com/lifestyle/2004/01/23/cx_dl_0126featslide.html?thisSpeed=20000 Ah the Mazda RX2 made the list! The car my college boyfriend had, that we rebuilt in auto class. Rotary engines and all. What fun! Yes, that car had problems! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

No problem. I just finished reading that old thread and enjoyed the laughter it brought. Oh, the memories of those days...Where'd they all go... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The one's that you're probably thinking of weren't tankless...merely miniature hot water heaters (compared to stateside models) A Little History Lesson. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Guess we're uber conscience here in CA. Our permits stipulate stainless steel vents for these. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

More than a conventional water heater turning on and off throughout the day? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yeah, but is the length of pipe the reason the price is so prohibitive, or is it the conversion factor? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Sorry to hear about the vandalization! Not nice. Guess new appliances kind of eases the burden, though? I have a friend who's house was hit by lightning a couple years ago. Her home owners insurance replaced everything. Electrical appliances (including her computer, tv, stereo, etc), her carpeting, her drapes, painted her outside and inside walls....etc. And they put her up in a hotel while the renovation was happening. She actually came out ahead in the long run. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Wonder if having the main gas valve right next to the current hot water heater (which mine is) is a plus, as far as expense of upgrading the pipe size? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks for the web site and info about the softener. I sent a request e-mail to a couple Rinnai dealers and will talk with them. If your installation amount is correct this is indeed tempting. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Doing a little research here and hoping to further the education. Help! So, there's rust coming into my water pipes when first turning them on in the morning. It flushes clean within a few seconds. Hot water still is working. Tried to flush my (10 year old) hot water heater and no water came out. Sediment has built up too high and it's now toast. I need to replace it. Now, I'm thinking perhaps a Tankless Water Heater. Doing a bit of research and find that they're pretty expensive ($1-2,000 just for the whole house unit). Plus taking the gas line from 1/2 in to 3/4 inch and installing a stainless steel ventilation pipe out the top (at $35/foot). In addition it's recommended to put a water softener in the line as well, as the deposits build up on a tankless just as much as a conventional water tank. Then there's the cost of the expert to install it. Wanting to survey what you guys have found (and used). Please add explanations to your replies as this is something that's needing to be done in the next month or so and the more education the better.

Huh? Do you mean Perris? They have a DC-9 jump ship, not a 727. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

This Dragon Rapide? How the heck did someone land inside the plane (without doing an intentional plane-to-plane transfer? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
