We're all different types here in our skydiving world, yet it seems that there are more positive and optimistic souls in our sport than negative ones. Maybe it's our genetics, or perhaps something created by the atmosphere which rubs off on us the more we hang around it all. Are we a more prone to be a 1/2 full crowd? Or are there some who's glass is always 1/2 empty? Found this little gem on-line tonight and took the test myself. Interesting if you answer truthfully. When Wall Street is sliding downhill, the entertainment industry is booming. People want to escape their tragic lives, so for a couple of hours they do so. http://abcnews.go.com/WN/story?id=5387182&page=1 Same goes for skydiving. I may be hurting a bit financially right now (was on disability pay for the first 6 months of this year) but I still make it down to the DZ a few times a month and keep current. Very interesting new tv series entitled "In Harm's Way" debuted this season on KTLA (CW). This week's episode was on "War Photographers". Since I was just flipping through the channels as I ate dinner tonight I was stopped by something familiar around the neck of one of the journalists. A closing pin necklace. Anyone know who this was? An up jumper, or a one-time skydiver wannabe? You're at Elsinore. Talk to Shark (Mark) and see if he'll do this for you. Of course, let him pack it for the jump. :^) The hardest opening I ever had was on my Spectre-135 (loaded at 1.4 at the time). I -know- what caused it. I didn't keep control of my slider. It was a windy day and I did a sloppy pack job. What I saw was that McCain kept pointing fingers and trying to discredit his opponent, which then gave Obama the chance to set the record straight. IMO this debate gave the perfect platform for the democratic nominee to once again stand up and pierce through McCain's 'scare tactics' and 1/2 truths.
