  1. Seems that testosterone (in the natural form) is good for more than just 'love'!
  2. I'd have to contact Norman Kent first. Ya know, copyrights and all. I'll have to get back with you later. Norm, as you know, is currently pretty busy in Thailand right now.
  3. Yes! That's the one I'm talking about! Finished watching that round with a sense of wonder. Only 2 teams (out of 15) turned the center piece 180. So....I guess the other 13 teams busted that block! It's crazy how they tried to connect those leg locks, though. Only the GK's seem to have it going for them. Glad they took it out of the dive pool. Cann you imagine trying to fly that sucker in the wind tunnel?! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Dang....(same video), the 8-way is out of a DC3 with the videoflyer exiting LAST...following the team out the door! Can't wait to see 16-way (or is that a more recent development?). Bet 10-way is done the 'old fashioned' way (the better way, IMHO). Ah...DC3's, where your jumpsuit is NEVER clean. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Wow! I'm watching a U.S. Nationals tape from 1988 that I found this weekend and boy am I entertained! The first round of 4-way was out of a Cessna-182! The second round is out of an Otter. Some of the teams get 3 re-jumps on a round! But the most entertaining so far (just 1/2 way through the 2nd round of 4-way so far) is a formation that I've NEVER even heard of before! Any old-timers out there from 1988? It's a block that starts with the inside and outside center's legs locked together and the tail and point in grips to make 'stars' from the IC and OC's hands. The hand grips are dropped and the pieces turn 180's (legs still locked) and the tail and point are re-gripped by the IC and OC in two cats! What the heck? Anyone know the name of this block? And if any other 'leg-grip' randoms or blocks have ever been in our dive pool? Although the teams are only numbered (no names posted by Norman Kent, who made this video), one can definitely pick out the Golden Knights and I believe...AirMoves! Cool video so far! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  7. I've heard this over and over, and believe it to be true. However, how can you explain that my Spectre-135 opens each time with a -just this side- of a hard opening unless I take the time to fold the nose over toward the center cell? This proved itself again today when my packer forgot to do this on a jump. He'd followed the packing need of my canopy for the first 2 jumps and the openings were sweet! Then on the 3rd he admitted (after the jump and the subsequent -THERE- opening) that he had packed it 'regular' and forgot to fold the nose over. With a camera on my head, this is important. I've had the canopy inspected by PD when it was sent in for a re-line (at 450 jumps) and it came back as o.k. Canopy is wing loaded at 1.4:1. Curious, ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. I've had patients carry reduced size x-rays with them after a total joint replacement because the titanium caused the decector to sound. I suppose it depends on how much titanium you have in your body and how sensitive the detector has been set. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. Hey Electric Horseman...and anyone else using glow sticks...! Just make sure they're strapped on securely! It sucks to see one fall off and plummet towards earth! It -really- looks like someone's going in! So, hang on to those little green puppies! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. While that may be true of some (most?) helicopters, it is not (or should not be!) true of most airplanes. Most airplanes, even without any sort of autopilot, fly just fine, straight and level, hands and feet off the controls if properly trimmed. In fact, I think you'd be pretty surprised how well some of them can fly and be controlled without functioning primary control surfaces. Until the fuel runs out. Remember what happened to Payne Stewart's plane. Or until it hits volcanic ash in the dead of night, with no warning. They went from 37,000' to 12,000' before clearing the ash (which they didn't even know was there, and -why- their engines quite) before getting their engines started again! They ALL thought they were as good as dead, there 3 hours out over the Indian Ocean! Yikes! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. Do a search, it's been discussed -alot- before. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. I looked at the pictures again after writing my post to you. Yeah, it's a FTN, I see. I actually put the FTP option out of my mind, 'cause it looked just too big for my small noggin. However, I tried a friend's FTP on last month and it felt GREAT! Now I'm not so sure my new BatRak was the correct helmet to purchase (to replace my daBomb). Like you, I wanted more real estate up top for the cameras and stuff. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. Booties -are- like power steering....and -are- like afterburners when tracking. They allow your legs to have alot more control over skydive maneuvers. Just one little tidbit of information to add. Booties -will- slow your freefall speed down! So, when I have my booties on, I have to wear a few more lbs of weight. If I have a heavier than normal AFF student, I take my booties OFF and that really gives me an advantage. I LOVE flying with booties, and perfer to have that extra added advantage when flying with people. My first 200 or so jumps, however, were done with shorts and a t-shirt! Why did I need a jumpsuit in Palm Springs? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  14. So, in this instance, would a judge go back to the 'old' way of judging a record? I mean, they -used- to look at the video and count the seconds. Couldn't they just freeze frame the completion and study the grips? Wouldn't this take the burden off getting the 'shot' with a digital camera? At least for the judge. It would still suck if you didn't have a print to sell! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  18. Nice pics. How do you like the FTP? I've not shot the 10D, so can't comment on it's difference to the Rebel. I just know I LOVE my 300D. The pics I get from it are AWESOME! Head over to BestBuy, Circuit City, or somewhere and handle it. You just might be surprised. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Thanks! :^) Finally upgraded to 3.03 with Panther. ltdiver Lori, here's your iLife '04 review.... iMovie4 is an improvement over iMovie3. It's not as fast as I'd like but it does seem better. iPhoto4 is much, much faster. It is worth getting. GarageBand - haven't had time to play yet but looks pretty cool. However, iDVD4 is.....virtually unusable. The update can't come soon enough I am appalled at how crappy it is. It makes iMovie 3.0 look like good code. Lots of people with the same problems I am experiencing on the Apple discussion boards. Geeze....what's Apple becoming? Are they suffering from too close a contact with Gates? Updates -used- to be flawless with the very first release! Like the info on iPhoto, though. I use it with my 300D for viewing upon download (before Photoshop gets ahold of them, if needed). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. Damn, that photo hurts. My Canon Rebel is weeping for it's brother. (pics on that page--other than the ones of your camera--are from my Rebel on Sunday afternoon). Glad to be of service. ... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. Ah, so....FINALLY!! God, did you see his eyes when Donald said his 'final answer'?! It seemed like the devil incarnate! But my fav...dear Troy. He didn't even whimper...(well, maybe a little, but even -that- was sexy! ) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. Interesting that this exact same number came up here. Just yesterday, a wuffo asked me how high you had to jump to be worried about dying. I shook my head and said, "10 feet". It's not the height that kills you, it's the fact that the planet gets in your way... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  24. A little write up about earning a living while doing sport photography. By someone who does what he loves....and sees the reality of it all. Check out the first line... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
