The worst pieing I can remember is Amazon giving Peanut4040 a pie that had some kind of mixture of cream, canned cat food, peanut butter and whatnot... At the Mardi Gras boogie at Gold Coast Skydivers. And she let the pie sit in a hot car all day. That's going off of memory, it may not be accurate. Ask Amazon. BillyVance's "You Can't Make This Up" News Stories Thread

I admit I've done it a couple of times. Truckers should only use the left lane to pass. So when I get stuck behind two 18 wheelers side-by-side for more than a few miles, neither one bothering to speed up or slow down to let others pass, I get impatient. It only takes me a few seconds to make the move around the right lane on the shoulder, but it's hard enough because you can't see around the truck. As it was, the last time I did it, over a decade ago, I had been stuck for 5 MILES behind the 18 wheelers going 70. I'm talking flat terrain with slight curves every mile or so. Finally I said fuck this bullshit, there were like 20-30 vehicles stuck behind me as well. I checked the right shoulder on a slight curve to the right, ensuring a good long line of sight, and stomped the gas. ZOOM. That certainly got the left lane truck's attention, because he pulled ahead and moved over. I'll never forget that time about 15 years or so ago, going home from work, driving behind some little car with a hot head driver in it, who was stuck behind an 18 wheeler in the left lane. He made every gesture possible hoping the trucker would notice in his mirror, to no avail. As it was, we were stuck behind the selfish prick for 20 miles. TWENTY MILES. Boy was the hot head guy mad. Once the trucker finally moved over, hot head pulled up to just ahead of the truck, feigned a swerve at it a couple times, then swerved directly in front of the truck and brake checked it. I stomped the gas to get the hell out of there, and all I could see in the rear view mirror was a lot of tire rubber smoke. Fuck that. Brake checkers are assholes. I hope someday you have the pleasure of being proud of your children’s accomplishments. I hope that someday Americans will recognize that military service isn't the only way, nor typically the best way, to serve one's country. I have a nephew serving overseas in the Navy. Personally, speaking as a veteran myself, I consider his decision to be a bad one, offering limited opportunities to reach his potential, relative to other options (Eagle Scout, 4.0 GPA, multilingual). A bad decision does not preclude a good experience. I wish him the best. I'm just not particularly impressed that he signed up. Well, the military can pay for his education, so there's that. High School Demo Jump that should have never gone through

At least one of the mods is rather over sensitive about things, and has had a humour bypass to boot. Yeah I mistakenly thought I was being funny to them. My bad. Indeed. Hell, college football and other outdoor sports have I think a 5 mile rule when it comes to lightning, the event gets put on hold and everyone, fans included gets under shelter when lightning is within 5 miles of the event. I may be wrong on the distance though. This demo, looked like the lightning was no more than a quarter mile away. Don't worry, despite your absence, conservatives' efforts to make SC a logic-free space continue. There are barely any of them left on there anymore. "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban -

Well, it all started with a month long site wide ban for insulting a moderator. And then when that was up, I asked about my status, and one of the moderators said he was working on changing my access but did add that I was a pain in the ass to moderate. As it was, he only unlocked Bonfire, Incidents and Gear/Rigging. I totally get being perma-banned from Speakers Corner (I've got a sarcastic attitude towards the indignant liberals in there), and from General Skydiving Discussions for continuing to bash that crazy lady in Colorado with a public vendetta vs the Longmont DZ after I was told to stop. I don't get why I can't access the rest. It ain't no democracy in here. I can't go into the General Skydiving Discussions or Safety and Training forums since I'm blocked from those so here it is... So here we are 4 weeks into the season. Bama is #1, as usual, and looking pretty well unstoppable, at least with Tua Tagovailoa at QB. I must say, after years of having a serviceable game manager at the position, Tua is a real eye opener. He's only played about 10 quarters in 4 games, not ever seeing the field in the 4th quarter due to the blowouts, but he's averaging 100+ yards passing per quarter and leads the nation in QBR. As it looks now, the game at LSU appears to be the only threat to an unbeaten regular season, and Bama still will likely be double digit favorites. Georgia is looking like there's been no drop off from last season, so should Bama meet Georgia in the SEC title game, it's likely going to be #1 vs #2, but I do like Bama's chances with Tua. Kirby Smart had issues defending true dual threat QBs during his time as Bama's defensive coordinator and again as Georgia's head coach. Ohio State is looking mighty good too, and Clemson seems ready to roll with former #1 pro-style QB Trevor Lawrence instead of senior Kelly Bryant. Penn State had a good scare with Appalachian State, and Oklahoma had one with Army this past Saturday. Oh, and Old Dominion shocked the college football world with a massive upset of Virginia Tech. And, the Tennessee Vols STILL SUCK! Lots of football left to play. Enjoy the season. Or not. And yet I just gave an example of a GM DZ that had an issue with illegal MX in the past resulting in a crash and recent action against the DZO and now a fatality at that DZ in part due to MX and they are still a GM. These are all facts. GM DZ having a crash due to illegal MX - Still a GM Action taken against the DZO - Still a GM An additional crash, with fatalities, reported to be bad MX - Still a GM DZ. Now maybe the USPA has not acted yet.... But they didn’t take action from the last crash due to bad MX, so I have little faith they will take action now... The check cleared. Maybe the USPA will finally act.... So maybe a preventable fatality is the line that removes a DZ from the program? That would be nice to know.... ‘Dangerous activities are allowed until someone dies.’ At that point it isn’t more than just the check clearing and an empty promise. Anyone that thinks the DZ being a USPA GM means anything is fooling themselves. The GM program is there to force individual membership and to serve as an advertisement tool. Funny how Chuck has made that’s EXACT claim on this forum before. I don't think whether USPA takes action or not is going to matter much. It's the FAA that has most of the teeth in enforcement. What should happen is USPA and the DZs NOT let things get so bad the FAA HAS to get involved. from the article: "According to data collected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 3,213 couples were hospitalized for such problems across the country in 2015 and 3,789 in 2016." really wtf? LMAO When my wife and I went to Maui for our honeymoon, our rental agency told us that we are not to go off the paved road past Hana. They'd had enough of people returning rentals with fucked up suspensions and undersides, broken mufflers, etc, when people kept trying to go all the way around to Kihea. I tried looking for Charles Lindberg's grave but didn't have enough time. We didn't want to drive back around in the dark. That road was crazy. Nothing handles better than a rented car. You can go faster, turn corners sharper, and put the transmission into reverse while going forward at a higher rate of speed in a rented car than in any other kind. You can also park without looking, and can use the trunk as an ice chest. Another thing about a rented car is that it's an all-terrain vehicle. Mud, snow, water, woods – you can take a rented car anywhere. True, you can't always get it back – but that's not your problem, is it? -- P.J. O'Rourke You can also do this with a rental car, or two... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YGn3ZyyejE "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

FIFY, but yeah! Even noticed a wrecked vehicle below the road too. I was just playing with Google Maps to figure out what that route was. The Google Streetview car hasn't even taken all of it! I think it was Virginia Canyon Road. It certainly looks like it, based on what I'm seeing on google maps. Came down right into the middle of Idaho Springs. My dad has had issues with squirrels getting into and fucking his shit up for years. He keeps a scoped pellet rifle handy. I took one down with a head shot this past summer. There is a law against hunting them for sport without a license, but when they are a destructive nuisance, it's game on bitch. Just make sure you don't 100% rely on GPS to lead you the right way. I learned that lesson driving from Blackhawk, CO down to Idaho Springs on I-70. Instead of the paved road, it led us to an unpaved road barely wide enough for two vehicles, no guardrails and 1000 foot drop offs. Haven't had a mouse or rat in my house in 17 years. But during our first year we had one trapped in a hole in the wall and both of our cats were positioned outside the hole. So my wife opened the hole a bit more and coaxed the mouse into a plastic tub and took it outside. Didn't have another one until a couple of years ago when I left a bag of grass seed open in the garage, and 5 or 6 large gopher rats got into it eating everything they could. I was about to go seed the yard and picked the bag up and the motherfuckers scrambled out, and I was like WHAT THE FUCK. So yeah, next time I used a plastic cooler to keep the next bag of grass seed in. No problem since. Sticky paper works too. My boss kept them in the old office, which did have mice getting into. I came in one morning and out of the corner of my eye I saw a mouse stuck on the sticky paper next to my desk. Told him about it, he said hit it with something. So I found a 3-4 lb piece of machined metal and WHACK, little fucker looked at me like WTF dude? And faded away. Now if you don't want to kill them, put them outside a good distance from the house. Snakes eat them.
