Some of the seasonal DZ's don't re hire all the instructors or other staff from the previous year. Some do not return. I know I offer the best instructors a place for the following season and replace the lazy and contrary ones. Same goes that if we treat them badly they will not return. And just how do you read your student well?? I would never put a handi cam on a student. I want them concentrating on the skydive and their roll in it. I have seen nothing that says for sure the TI pulled the handle or missed the hookup on gear check. and..................... Sometimes the students pull the handle when they leave the plane... The Record set in 2010 by Luther Kurtz with his sister Angela as passenger In Harbor Springs MI. 105 in 22.5 hours Plus another after with media for an unofficial total of 106 in 24 hours. No big support crew no b12 hooks and 2 182's and a 206 Angela was sick for most of the night but would not give up. Strong is not a strong enough word for her effort. I have never called you to ask for your help collecting anything from anyone. Skyride has never owed me a dime. Also I find it funny that you feel I owed you any thing when it comes to Fitzgerald. I will do as many tandems from Ben Hill county and the surrounding towns and county which was your chief concern when we spoke. and we did speak concerning this matter 5 years ago and 4 months ago. go be a little crybaby ....you still wont get your way... Just to clarify something for your masses... No one ever asked you to move your event from Fitzgerald. correct. You asked me to not open a dropzone there because you said it would make it not profitable for you... correct... OK I have withdrawn my request with the city manager and have signed a contract on a local private field 12 miles from Fitz in another county to operate year round. The county offered me several options including going forward but they also informed me of the option we ultimately chose. It is a much better deal for me in the long run. Fitz to my knowledge was never closed to skydiving only the DZ closed due to Jerry's death. Fitzgerald wants sustainable business's not parties. I moved away from the parting a few years ago and like where that move led me. Skydiving can and will bring a nice bit of income to the Ben Hill county community and your Bad mouthing wont affect that 1%. We offer our Service's at a fair price, have a great safety record and do well in the market place. That is business and the type of business cities and communities want. Not 4 or 5 days of drunken, High skydivers. Thanks for posting Fitz on your Website.... The company hasn't opened its doors and you are already advertising for it... People can look at your site and see 50% of dz's do take 3rd party and the ones who use 3rd party bookings will not be deterred. Weather you like it or not people use booking companies for many things including trips parties weddings bands and just about every entertainment activity out there. Skydive Fitzgerald was opened in 97 by Jerry Hoakstra the man who shared the wonderful world of skydiving with me and one of my mentors. When he died the DZ closed.... Myself, Tracy George, Drew and Justin Collins, and Vic Hulett and a few other local skydivers have wanted to open it up again since the day it closed. Now when Chris Spence was searching for someplace to hold the St Patrick's Day Boogie I said Hey Chris check this place out... It is awesome we used to jump here and I will someday have another DZ here.... Chris found everything I said to be true and fell in love with Fitz..... Now he thinks his Boogie is more important than the local skydivers following their dreams and having what they have been missing for so many years... Spence you don't even jump any more it is purely a profit and party event for you so don't talk about the skydive world like you want anything other than their money and beer... As for business... Yes I work for a company who accepts Skyride we also have 7 skydiving centers across the country and have our own network and booking agency. We also accept cash credit and gift Certificates sold by other companies. We had a great season this year and are looking forward to another one next year... I am in business to make a profit as are most businesses. If money and profit were not a problem for you Spence you would not be whining about the boogie... a bit knees down in free fall is the first step to ass out on opening. talk about making students feel uncomfortable... tighten the harness up so they cant arch and the feel like something is wrong the whole skydive because they CANT arch..... I have that canopy's evil twin brother. The only made by precision. I have found that swinging the camera in the direction you need to untwist while kicking works great. I also agree he seemed to have plenty of time left to make a better effort to resolve the problem. some times I just instruct the passenger to put their legs straight down along with mine and start swinging our momentum in the right direction.
